The sound of Ares clearing his throat brought me out of my thoughts; Staring at him, I tilted my head; "Is there something else I should know?"

My eyes glided around the dark room before staring at him again.

Ares shrugged, "It would be nice if I could be friends with him."

"How would that benefit you?" I asked, sitting on the vanity table.

"I'll be as powerful as he is."

"Won't that mean you'll resort to killing innocent people just to take charge of them? Also, don't you think he can kill you since you're an Alpha? I mean, he kills alphas to attain more powers. Is that not so?"

Ares shrugged again, "I'm not one of the alphas he can kill easily."

Ares sounded so confident that for a minute, I wanted to believe he was right, but I couldn't. He had described the Alpha of the Black Moon as vicious; I didn't think the Alpha would want to be his faithful friend. Perhaps, a faux friend to get what he wanted from Ares.

And that was his soul.
