Payday came, finally.

Happiness was an understatement of how I felt, and I could not contain how it ran through me throughout the day.

For as long as I can recall, it's only been two weeks since I started working and I have been paid. Wasn't it supposed to be after a month?

“Payment is every two weeks,” Jane explained in the office that day.

“This way, you don't have to take loans to feed yourself in case you run out of cash.

Do you see why Logan's Institute is better than the others?”

I looked up and smiled, standing on my feet and checking the watch on my wrist.

“I should get going. I am already done for today and need to catch up on some stuff. Aella would be on my neck if I didn't make it home on time.”
