“It is time, Young Luna.”
I glanced up to find my slave maid Aella standing there. Taking a shaky breath I nodded.
"Thanks. Um.. I'll be there shortly."
She nodded. I waited until I heard her receding footsteps before dashing to the window, peeking out for any sign of the car.
The black Mustang was right below my window.
I put on a smile, then turned and walked towards the door.
"All right, let us go!" I called out to Aella as I got outside, who smiled and started the car engine.
I looked into the car, and my smile paused.
My husband was nowhere to be found.
I looked around; no sign of him. My husband, the man I love, he was not there.
I felt a growl in my chest, my wolf was upset and restless; it felt like she was pacing back and forth.
Obviously because Rune promised to bring me to the hospital but didn't show up
His mother, the current Luna, had promised that he would come to the hospital, and I believed her.
I believed he would appear, and the thought of it kept me in a sleepless frenzy all night.
"Is something wrong, Young Luna?" Someone's voice jolted me from my thoughts.
I looked up to meet Aella's piercing gaze in the mirror. It brought a smile back to my face.
"Y—yes, Aella." My smile widened. "I am doing well and okay." I turned to look through the car's window, watching the houses and people flash past.
"We have arrived, Young Luna." Aella announced after a while, and I looked around to see that we'd arrived at the hospital.
It was a simple building painted white.
A statue of a rearing werewolf adorned the grassy space in its front.
I watched her drive into a space slowly and turn off the ignition.
She turned to address me once more. "You will leave the vehicle and wait for me while I go to park in the lot."
I nodded and opened the car door unconsciously.
Suddenly, a blinding light covered my eyes, I raised my hands to shield my eyes, and that's when I saw a car sprinting towards me like a bullet! Heart racing, I froze in terror.
I staggered backwards in alarm, but before I could go far. All of a sudden, a man I had not seen before stood in front of me.
"Pull around!" He yelled so loudly that the man, whoever was driving the car, immediately stopped.
"Are you doing okay?" He turned to ask me. "I apologize for that, but were you hurt?"
I shook my head and nodded again. Did I fall or remain standing?
For crying out loud! I could not figure out what had happened. How did I end up where I am now?
I looked up to find the man staring at me with worry in his eyes. His hands hovered around me, as if to check for any wounds.
I flinched as his hand touched me. My eyes moved around, catching his features. His long, sandy-blonde hair brushed the top of his shoulders.
His beautiful bright blue eyes stared at me with worry in them.
He had on a tight black compression shirt, which outlined his biceps really well.
He was so attractive that I found myself staring at him for a long time. Finally, I pulled my eyes away.
"I am fine," I muttered. "My maid is right around the corner."
I saw Aella running towards me, concerned in her eyes.
"What has happened, my Lady?" She asked.
"Are you okay?"
When the man excused us, Aella gasped in shock and grabbed my arm, pulling me to a safer place.
"What were you thinking?" She yelled. "That car could have injured you.... or worse!"
I did not know how to respond.
I could still feel the shock, and all I could do was stare at the ground.
I hoped the babies were fine, at least.
"Let's go!" Aella said and led the way to the white building.
We caught up with the office soon enough, and following the doctor's examination, he confirmed that the babies were healthy.
I was very relieved at the news, and I let out a sigh before leaving the office.
We arrived at the reception area, and Aella stopped me with a hand on my shoulder.
"I have to get the car. I will be back." She said and walked away, leaving me standing motionless.
Everything that had happened just a few moments before had done enough for me, and there was no way I was going to take another risk that would cost me my life.
"Hey" A voice called out to me suddenly.
I turned to see where the voice came from. It was the man who had saved me earlier.
“I am fine, thanks." I replied with a smile. "I appreciate the assistance the other time."
"Oh, it is nothing," he said. " You do not have a stomach bump yet, but I suspect you are pregnant.
What is the condition of the baby? Did you hit your tummy? And what did the doctor tell you?"
"They are fine," I proudly informed the man, implying that they were two babies rather than one.
"The doctor has confirmed that they are fine."
“You know…” He started. "I was so worried about you and decided to wait until you got out.
I was almost even growing impatient." He smiled brightly
" Really?" I burst out laughing, for the first time in a while.
"Well, I apologize for wasting your time, but you should not have been concerned about me.
Especially since you saved the day and kept me from getting hurt."
He nodded, and my eyes caught his again. He looked into my eyes for a while without saying a word and I felt a flutter in my stomach that I hadn't felt for a long time.
Even a blush was creeping up my face. The man was so attractive!
In so many ways, he reminded me of Rune, whom I had loved my entire life.
They had the same charm around them. His blue eyes and Rune's looked so similar.
I knew I needed to end the conversation before it became too much.
I chuckled softly and broke my gaze.
"Ohh I can see your maid is here with the car."
"Ah Yes, she is." I replied, staring at his eyes again. "I have to go now.... And thank you once again for saving my life"
" Okay, now you're making me look like some super hero, I'm glad I could help" He said, looking straight into my eyes, and I chuckled, biting my lip.
"You're really funny"
"Thanks, I'm sorry for taking your time"
He nodded, bowed, and then turned around.
I smiled as I watched him from behind.
And just as he was about to leave my sight, I heard a familiar deep and husky voice behind me. "Who exactly is that guy?"
I turned around, surprised to see him.
My husband Rune, and he was with my sister.
"Lila?"

Runes POV I walked over to the window staring at the clearing of bushes and mountains ahead. And all I could think about was the possibility that raven was out there with my child, my heir. After a long moment, the door opened again.“Rune?” a gentle soft familiar voice called.I looked up to see Lila standing by the door, her golden hair tumbling over her shoulders, her lips painted red as always. But she had a curious expression on her face laced with suspicion.“Who was that woman?” she asked, her tone a little bit stiff and I could hear the jealousy behind her voice“An informant,” I replied with a cold tone not wanting to have any argument with her as there was already a lot on my mind. “About?” she probed.I hesitated, I wondered ibi should share this new information about Raven as it was no news that Lila had a grudge with raven but there was no use lying. Lila always saw through me. “It’s about Raven.”“And?has she been found?” she asked. “Not yet.” I replied sitting
RavenThe howl was still ringing in my ears when the fighting slowed. The rogues didn’t push forward, though they could have. They circled, growling, restless, but waiting. Waiting for someone.I gripped Aella’s arm so hard my nails dug into her skin. “He’s here,” I whispered. My voice was cracked and thin, almost like it belonged to someone else. Her face turned pale. “What do we do?”I didn’t answer. My chest was locked, every breath jagged.Logan shifted back to human form, blood and dirt streaking across his skin, his chest rising with heavy breaths. He scanned the field, sharp and alert, and then his eyes locked on me.“Stay behind me,” he said. His tone was steady, calm enough to calm others, but I could hear the strain underneath. He was ready for whatever was coming, but he knew it wasn’t going to be easy. The gates creaked then, slow and deliberate. The sound scraped against my nerves. Wolves turned their heads, hands tightening on weapons, claws half-extended.And then he wa
RavenThe air was heavy, almost too heavy to breathe. Mist rolled over the river, curling between the wolves on either side. I could feel every pair of eyes locked on us, waiting. My heart beat too fast, loud in my ears, but it was Rune’s voice that cut through everything.“Raven,” he called out, his tone sharp. “Last chance. Come back to me now.”I gripped my stomach without thinking, a shield made of nothing. My throat felt dry, but I forced my voice out. “I already told you, I’m not yours.”Rune’s face twisted. “You lie to yourself. You lie to them. But I know. That child is mine.”Gasps rippled across the Blood Nest wolves. I felt their stares burn into me. My knees weakened, but Aella pulled at my arm.“Don’t move,” she whispered fiercely.Logan stepped forward then, his body blocking me from Rune’s gaze. His voice carried steady across the river. “She belongs to no one but herself. If you want to take her, you go through me.”Rune laughed, low and bitter. “Gladly.”He shifted, h
RavenThe pack yard was still buzzing long after Logan dismissed everyone. Wolves lingered in small groups, their whispers low as they gazed at me.Aella walked close beside me, her hand brushing mine now and then. When we finally stepped inside the house Logan had set for me, she shut the door quickly, leaning her back against it with a sigh.“They don’t trust you,” she said plainly.I sank into the chair by the window, my hands resting on my stomach. “I know.”“They think you’re a curse,” she added.I winced. “You don’t have to put it like that.”Her face softened. “Sorry. I just don’t want you blind to it. They’ve seen Rune claim you, they’ve heard his voice. Now you stand here saying you’re free. They don’t know what to believe.”“And you?” I asked quietly. “What do you believe?”Aella crouched beside me, her eyes steady. “I believe you. But belief doesn’t stop wolves from gossiping. And gossip doesn’t stop knives in the dark.”Her words sat heavy on me.Later that night, Logan ca
LoganThe cold chill ran down my body as a sting wind glowed through the forest line. I stood at the edge of the forest clearing staring at the faint flicker of torches. The villagers had begun to light up the little camp they had set up by the river side.I could only watch from afar.
