Lila

I was furious, the word furious could not even begin to doscirbe the emotions I was feeling.

Seeing the way Rune had been so dismissive to what I was trying to say to him. He clearly does not care about my opinion anymore.

All he cares about his Raven. I was sick and tired of constantly hearing that name.

Why can't he just get over her? What's so special about her anyway?

I have been to patient thinking that my soft approach of staying by Rune side and whispering Into his ears would work but clearly he was still infatuated with that bitch.

There is one way to end all this and that was to get rid of that bitch.

I love Rune way to much for me to let anyone take him from me. He was mine and will always be mine.

I grabbed the ink and paper laying on my table and began writing my message. It's time to be more fierce with my attack.

I cannot let Rune find Raven. I need to get to her first before him.

“Dear old friend. I want to use up my favour. LL.” I wtote on the small piece of pap

  • Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Forsaken Luna   Chapter 157

RUNE'S POVThe sun had fully climbed the sky when I found my beta over the training grounds, overlooking the training men in their wolf forms.Brutus was leaning on a practice spear, boots planted in the dirt as he watched. He turned and blinked once when he saw me approach, and his expression tightened worriedly. “You look like you dragged half the mountain on your shoulders,” he said. “Were you not able to sleep properly?”“I did for a while until I couldn't,” I replied. I propped my hip on the rail and let the wind tug at my cloak. “How long have you been watching the men?”“Long enough, they should be rounding up soon.”He dropped the spear, closed the distance, clapped a hand on my shoulder. “Talk to me. Like your friend, this time. I don't want to be a beta right now, Rune.”I sighed, staring off into emptiness. I was really divided about telling him anything, but then he was right, before everything else…before I became alpha and he beta, we were friends. Honestly I should'v

LILAThe night was as still as cool glass when I slipped into his chambers.A single candle flickered on the desk by the bed, its light throwing restless shadows across his face where he slept. He looked almost peaceful like that. Almost like the man I once needed. Not anymore though, thankfully. All I felt towards Rune was anger and irritation. My fingers tightened around the small vial in my hand as I gently flicked the top.The potion glimmered faintly, blue and viscous, meant to blur the mind and twist the heart into madness.Rune's sudden decision to sleep earlier and eat better was only slowing down my plans, so therefore I had to take matters into my own hands…“like I always had to,” I whispered quietly, rolling my eyes.Lately he'd been fighting harder against the paranoia, perhaps to maintain a stronger image in the face of his people like the alpha he was.I hated that. The potion was the simplest way to have him destroy himself, to make the world see what I already knew,

LOGANA shard of morning light spilled through a slant in the closed window and the pale curtains.I woke to the faint crackle of the fire I'd fed a few hours before, and the soft sound of breathing that wasn’t mine. It took me a second to remember where I really was, then I smelled the lavender scented pillow.A small smile tugged at my lips as I turned my head and saw her.Raven.She was still asleep, one arm tucked under her head, her red hair spilling across the pillow in loose, messy strands. The blanket had slipped just enough to reveal the line of her bare shoulder, the soft rise and fall of her chest. For a long moment, I didn’t move, I couldn't. She looked so calm, with her lips slightly parted and her face relaxed…it stirred a fierce protectiveness within my chest. After she fell asleep, I'd moved to the far edge of the bed, careful not to touch her again lest I combust from desire, but sometime during the night, she must’ve shifted closer. Close enough that her warmth bl

RAVEN"Can I sleep in your bed tonight, mama?”I nodded, “yes, you ca…”“I changed my mind,” my young daughter cut in, her tiny voice firm. “I don't want to sleep in your bed.”I took a deep breath as I offered up a prayer for more patience. This was our usual routine everyday from whenever the sun began to set. But I wouldn't have it any other way.She and her brother were my joy.By the time the moon climbed over Blood Nest, I was half asleep on my feet, swaying beside Aurora’s bed as she recited her bedtime story to her stuffed fox for the fifth time, after insisting I remain her audience. I didn't want to leave her alone with the baby as she was still awake, or she just might wake him up to read him the story.“Do you think Logan will like this story, mama?” She suddenly asked.I blinked, his name knocking out the unconsciousness that'd been creeping over me.“I don't know, baby. Why don't you sleep now, and we'll ask him tomorrow?”Aurora yawned in response, then nodded as she pl

LOGANLast night's attack had left everyone on edge, but Raven most of all. There was a certain chill over the whole castle that not even the sun could ward off.I found her standing in my study, with her arms crossed over her chest and tension radiating off her, visible in the way she held her shoulders and jaw as she stared out the open window. She didn't even seem to notice or mind that the light wind was tangling strands of her ruby hair across her cheek. “You look like you want to punch something,” I began as I came to a stop beside.Raven shrugged and answered without w even looking at me. “Maybe I should, I'm feeling a bit pesky anyways.”“Why? And what can I do to help?”“You could let me do what I want,” she answered softly.“You’re not doing it,” I stated before she could continue.Raven turned slowly, eyes narrowing. “You mean you still won't let me strengthen the wards?”I nodded, “that’s exactly what I mean.”She scoffed. “They’re weakened from the invasion. If I don’t r

RUNEThe chamber felt smaller every time I sat in it.Smoke curled around the ceiling beams, thick and bitter, making the heaviness in my chest even heavier. The men's voices blurred together as I half-tuned them out.I only half-listened, my mind wandering everywhere else but what they were saying.“...Blood Nest is fortifying its borders currently, I don't understand why you still want to do this, sir.” Garron said, his voice thick with disapproval. “You're leading the men into a possible death.” “That is true, Rune,” Egan supported calmly. “Their patrols have doubled since the last moon. I don't support your decision to invade them but if we wait any longer, Rune, we risk losing our element of…”“Patience is not weakness,” I cut in, my tone calm but clipped.“We strike when the threat is clear, not when pride itches for blood. Blood Nest obviously anticipates and expects an attack from us now and that is why we wait. We shall lunge when they least expect it.”Egan leaned forward,
