Samantha's Pov

"So it's true...." A voice spoke behind me and when I turned to see who it was I tripped and almost fell but Julian, he held my arm, steadying me.

My jaw dropped, and a nervous gasp left my throat.

"Jack?" I called, still in disbelief seeing my ex-stepfather before me. He was a bit tattered, and if I didn't know who he was, I'd think he was mentally ill. He definitely had a rough life. He didn't look a bit sober, and he sure as good looked malnourished.

Was it Karma? Paying him back for all those years he abused me?

"I heard the rumours, but I didn't think it was possible. You're the genius doctor. So it's you, Samantha." Jack said in shock himself, his eyes trailed the length of my body as if to convince himself that I was real.

" What are you doing here? How did you get in here?" I asked, exchanging a glance with Julian, who looked very much interested. He knew about Jack too and my history with him. He had a look of disgust on his face for him.
