Chapter 8 | Honest Opinion

I detest the days that training runs late. It throws my entire day off schedule.

Of course, I could leave early if I truly wanted to. But I respect our head trainer, Dustin, and I will not be the first to skip out. These group trainings are a great way to boost morale within the pack. They would see me as weak if I was the first one to leave.

Maggie sees me from the kitchen and grabs a water bottle for me and tosses it to me. I mutter a thank you to her before I walk towards the stairs and take them two at a time all the way up.

I huff as I open the door to my office, and I freeze in the doorway and watch as Kaden’s body stiffens, and he stops moving.

I move my head around him and see Amelia quivering on the ground as blood pours from her nose. Her eyes flicker towards me and I maintain eye contact with her as I ask, “What’s going on here?”

Kaden speaks, “Amelia tripped and fell when delivering your food, Alpha. I was just about to help her stand up.”
