Evangeline stared at the person, whom she is supposed to marry in a couple of months. 

Jake is the stepson of one of the powerful Lycans in the city. He is currently flirting with a girl from her class. She is giggling at whatever crap he is spewing.

This is the same every single time. He insists that he will come and pick her up from college. But it's just a reason he needs to flirt with girls and pick someone to spend a night with.

Evangeline became a laughing stock among her peers. She is forced to marry Jack for the sake of her father. She belongs to the famous Yoke Family and only the woman from the Yoke family are supposed to marry a man from the Bishop family. They are supposed to marry a Bishop or stay single. For whatever reason, a contract was signed that Evangeline was supposed to marry when she reached the age of 22 into the bishop family. This contract was signed between their forefathers and it's been continued since then.

Her elder sister is promised to the elder son of the family, Damien Bishop. He is said to be a cold-hearted and powerful man in the world.

Evangeline is happy that she doesn't have to marry him. But she doesn't want to marry Jake either. 

Jake was already married once, but she died in an accident just after couple of months after she met Jake. He is 27 years old now. Two years younger than his stepbrother Damien.

She is 21 years old and is studying business management course upon the insistence of her father. She is more interested in event management than this business management course she is forced to take. 

She is standing in the parking lot looking at Jake, as he shamelessly flirts with that girl. He knows she is here waiting for him. But he doesn't care.

"I hate this scum bag." her best friend Cassy muttered from beside her.

"I hate him too." Evangeline confessed with hatred.

Casey is feeling bad for Eva.

"Eva, I will help you. Pack your stuff and run away. I have some money saved up. Mine and yours would be enough for you to last a year. Find a remote town and settle down. Anything is better than marrying this scum bag. Please, Eva, don't waste your life" Cassy her best friend begged her

With reddish-brown hair, almond-shaped caramel-colored eyes, fair and blemish-free skin tone, a very hot body. Eva is a dream girl to many guys from their college. 

She is beautiful and Jake doesn't deserve her at all. If Cassy could, she would have murdered him by now. But her friend is stuck with family obligations.

"You know I cannot do that. They will find me no matter where ever I am. I am a Yolk and promised to marry a man from the Bishop family. Bishops are ruthless. If I run, they will consider it as an insult to them and send someone after me. Moreover, my father and family would suffer first in their hands. I am not scared about their punishment, but my family would be punished first" Evangeline said sadly.

Cassy sighed.

"I still don't understand why you care so much about them. Your mother is the second wife of your father. It's your sister he adores the most. She is the daughter born to his first wife, whom he loved so much. Even your mother sings praises of your sister Rose. Your mother is just a convenience for him to look after Rose. They were never expecting you to be born. But you did and your father always ignored you. He never raised you as his own daughter. Your mother is always busy looking after Rose. You were left alone to fend for yourself. Rose is a bitch. She never looked at you like a sister would. She always teased you and taunted you. Why do you care about them? They deserve whatever punishment those Bishop's give them. For once, think about your own happiness. Jake will ruin your life" Cassy tried to remind Eva that her family don't deserve her loyalty.

Eva remained silent. She knows everything Cassy just said is true. But she cannot bring herself to run and let her family suffer. She is not selfish like that.

"I can't" she answered making Cassy frown.

"I am glad that I got you as my best friend Eva. But they are exploiting your kindness. Think about it" Cassy begged.

Eva looked at Jake and shook her head.

Nowadays, seeing him with other women became a regular occurrence, and it's not bothering her at all. It should, but it's not.

"Let's go to a club and forget all about this for a while" Cassy pulled Eva away from Jake and his flavor of the night.

Eva is sure he wouldn't remember that she is waiting for her at all. So she followed behind Cassy to the club.

They don't bother with changing clothes. Evangeline is staying in an apartment close to her college with her best friend Cassy. Her parents and sister live in the small gated community reserved for elites, which is two hours away from the city.

Her father Watson Yoke is powerful in his own right but not as powerful as those Bishops, who live in a palace-like mansion outside the city. 

Jake lives in that mansion as well. But he has a small apartment here in the city, which he uses to spend his nights with women. 

His elder brother or stepbrother Damien is the President of the Bishop corporation. The Bishop corporation has different businesses and so many branches all over the world. Construction, mining, oil and gas, software, you name it they have their name in that business.

They are rich beyond measures and Damien Bishop is the sole reason for its huge success in the past few years. They are the leading company in every business they are in.

He is more handsome than a Greek god and as merciless as Lucifer. No one dares to touch the Bishops because of him. In the business world, no one can go against them and win.
