Cade's POV

She suddenly went cold beside me and I pushed my wolf forward to scan our environment for any threats, all the while I slowly increased our speed.

I knew this detour was a bad idea but Seth texted me that she didn't have breakfast before we left. I couldn't leave her hungry in good conscience, then her stomach growled in her sleep.

My father and her parents were aware that we were coming home today, so I updated them as I pumped gas for the car. The weather was unbearably hot and would mess with anyone's senses. That is why I wasn't really surprised when my wolf said he didn't find anything suspicious.

Before the rumors hit the school I received a parcel detailing everything that eventually hit the school gossip blog.

The cameras outside my room only captured the back of the person who dropped the package which was frustrating as hell.

Anaya tried to relax after a while but I could tell that she either experienced or saw something.

The package I received was full of irref

Lydia's POV This wasn't going according to my plans and the one frustrating me with his quiet words and firm ‘nos’ was none other than my mate!I could see how this benefited the two races but he said no to too many things that I got so upset and called for a break. Was it so bad to have a shrine in the werewolf pace?Or to combine events for maximum impact?I sighed as I rubbed the back of my neck. This man was going to give me a migraine if we continued at this pace.As soon as I splashed water on my face the door to the bathroom was open and I was spun around before being shoved into a wall by my mate. His eyes looked calm but I could feel the rage vibrating through his muscles. What the hell did I do?!“Are you deliberately trying to piss me off?” He asked me in a controlled voice. I stared at him in shock, excuse you!“Shouldn't I be asking you the same question?! What's the matter with you? Every single compromise I have suggested with our rituals you have simply shut them down

Dr. Desire’s POV The familiar scent of antiseptics and bad decisions filled my nose as I walked into the ER for the night shift that I definitely didn't need to cover but humans make for great entertainment. They are always doing something they shouldn't be doing or being in places they have no business being. But then again, if they behaved the way they were supposed to, such covers as these wouldn't exist for us.“Dr. Desire! Accident on highway 12! We have three buses overturned and some don't look good!” One of the lead nurses called out as I tied my hair in a bun. It looks like we'll be having a long night after all.It didn't take long for me to enter an OR and then have marathon cases.I stretched as I got out of the last surgery for my shift. The bars that went through the man during the accident really didn't spare him. But then again, gifted hands like mine don't always roam the halls of a hospital.“You know I don't appreciate uninvited guests in my space,” I said as I pul

Lydia’s POV The council met at the usual spot. I casually walked in, making a lot of people look away or stare at me in outright shock. It's been close to two decades since I last stepped foot in here. And that decision has stalled the renewal of policies and the implementation of new ones.Only my signature could put those in effect but it didn't stop them from letting Lawrence do what he did.Of everyone present, it was Lawrence's face that was the most priceless. Especially when his eyes landed on my companion, the Alpha king.Every single person sat up straighter as we both headed for the seats that Lawrence wouldn't dare occupy if he valued his life. The tension in the air was palpable with only the occasional sounds of people breathing.Fred held the bigger seat for me before he sat in the smaller one. The atmosphere in the room seemed to tilt but Fred didn't mind. He simply crossed his legs at his ankles and watched. We had a chat before we came in here and this was exactly wh

Anaya's POV The dreaded moment was here, the time to drink that medicine that looked suspiciously like slime having a bad day.I gulped and accepted the cup from Cade who was giving Seth a warning look.“I'm just trying to help. You hold her down while I pour it directly to the back of her throat. Her entire palate doesn't have to suffer and we get a kick out of it in the process,” Seth said and I sent him a look.“Stop playing!” Letti smacked his arm and he raised his hands in mock surrender.I took the cup from Cade before the bravado wore off and chugged it in one go. And let me tell you it was nasty, plain old ridiculously nasty stuff!I wanted to barf but I knew I needed the drink. So I forced it down and chugged the bottle of water that Cade opened for me.“I need to see that witch doctor to thank her,” I said as tears stung my eyes.Seth looked like he was going to start laughing any second now. Such a friend! I gagged as I felt the medicine take on a life of its own and begi

  • Alpha's Wildcard: Lunar Strike Mayhem   Chapter 137

Anaya's POV After the doctor left I just stared at my hands. Yes I was a hybrid, but why was I being targeted and what exactly did they have on me that made me an easy target?I don't have dolls, Kaitlyn doesn't keep any and I've never seen Letti with one. So our living space isn't that brand of girlie.I sighed when Cade came in with a paper bag with Seth and Letti in tow. Letti moved in immediately and pulled me into a hug. Her wolf let out some soothing sound that seemed to help me relax greatly.“What did the doctor say?” She asked as she pulled out of the hug. Seth placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed slightly. I covered his hand with mine. Cade was standing to the side like some outsider. I wanted to go to him but I feel like he doesn't like showing affection publicly. If it were back in his dorm he would have been next to me.“That I'm being targeted and that we should search our living spaces for anything suspicious like a doll,” I said to Letti who gave me a look.“A do

  • Alpha's Wildcard: Lunar Strike Mayhem   Chapter 136

Seth's POV Letti rode with me to the pack hospital in Cade's car. He tossed me his keys as they drove off in the ambulance.Never have I been so scared in my life.Letti was next to me but she was curled up, like she was scared of what was happening but didn't want to disturb me. Her wolf was making small sounds of distress that she was fighting to hide from me.I shot a quick text to Cade about being late and packed the car at the next gas station I came across. Letti looked around a little scared but I didn't offer any explanations. I got out, asked for a backroom and came to get her after five minutes. She looked even more distressed which made me grit my teeth. The person manning the desk was a werewolf so as soon as he saw Letti, he gave me a nod and I took her to the back room.“What's happening?” Letti asked me as she rubbed her palms together. I took several deep breaths to try and calm myself down before I pulled her into a much needed hug.She began sobbing in my arms as I
