Chapter twenty four

2021-09-10 19:20:16The day of the trial was here. I was very nervous having to see Lisa, Shanaya and Benson again and to relive what was done to me in front of the entire pack.
Dax made me some breakfast but I couldn't stomach much of it, but I tried to swallow some of it down.
We made our way to the pack court room which was basically a huge room that the whole pack could fit in with a little stand at the front so everyone could see them.
When we arrived only about a quarter of the pack was here. They all turned to look at me them knowing I was involved with what was going on today.
Some even came up to me and said they were sorry to hear I had gone through the trauma. Dax pushed us through the crowd until we went through a little side door where there was a little room, there wasn't much in this room just a desk with a chair, a shelf with some books on it and a tall lamp at the side.

Waking up I feel the warmth of Dax's body against mine just like it is every morning. I lay there and remember that I was meeting Sue for a coffee this morning, so I throw my arm out of the covers and feel around for my phone off the bedside table and open on eye to look at the time. Seeing that I had just over an hour to meet her I snuggle back in to Dax for twenty more minutes before slowly getting out of the bed so I don't wake Dax and get ready to go.Before I set off I kiss Dax, he wakes up and grabs me to stop me from going. Sitting down with Richard and Riggs in front of me, I didn't know how to say the words to them. How do I tell them out Mum is dead and she is gone because she saved me so it is all my fault. Everything is my fault, everything that is going on with the pack, everyone dying lately and all the attacks it was all my fault and now I could feel the anger that my Mum was talking about before the elves turned bad. Dax threw me onto the ground with a hard landing and then covered me with his body to make sure I wasn't getting hit with the bullets that were flying all around us.As I lay there I could see our wolves getting hit and I wasn't liking this one bit, if they had silver knives the chances are they might have silver bullets, so our wolves wouldn't make it with a silver bullet inside them we would have a very short period of time to remove the bullet before the silver had spread too far in their body and then nothing we did would help them.No matter how good we are at fighting or how fast we are we couldn't win against silver bullets. I didn't want to leave my Mum behind, but the only chance I would have to get away could be now and my Mum died to save me I couldn't let that go to waste by staying with her and dying now.I had to wait for the silver to wear off so that I could mind link Dax until then I was now completely on my own.Giving her one last hug and kiss on the cheek, I stand up with tears in my eyes. I take one last look at her and head towards the door.I look out just a little to make sure there was no one there and all I see is one big hollow corridor with a small light coming from the end. No no, this couldn't be happening what the hell are they doing with my Mum. I froze not knowing what to do. I couldn't get free of the chains and I couldn't feel my wolf or my powers.
