Violet's POV

I knocked softly on his door, and he granted me permission to come inside. I gently pushed the door open and spotted him sitting innocently on his regal chair, wearing a smile to cover up his evil deed.

"I’ve missed you so much." He got up from his seat and hugged me tightly before I could even think of pulling away.

Gosh. How could he have done that, yet still act innocent? This definitely wouldn’t be the first time.

"Why did you call for me?" I pulled away with a sigh as his fingers ran through my hair. Goodness. I wanted to kick him to the floor so badly that I had to grit my teeth to keep my emotions in check.

"You’re on duty for tonight’s patrol, right?" he asked in a more composed tone now. He could see the tightness on my face. I wasn’t in the mood to talk with a cheater.

I nodded in response. I refused to sit when he asked me to, so he quickly summarized the reason he had called me.
