LOGINJordan’s POV
“Do you want me to go after her, my Alpha?” Hector, my beta, asked.
“No.” I spoke quietly, watching her jet take off. “She’s more powerful than I thought.” I turned to face him. “I want you to find out the truth about what she’s claiming. If that child is mine, then I’m the only one who can cure him… and I want him under my control.” Hector nodded and stepped away, leaving me alone in the empty stretch of the airport.
I walked back toward the pack in my human form, trying to remember exactly when I had let myself slip… and ended up getting that woman pregnant.
It had been rare for me to feel attracted to someone of that species. They were always weak and petty, bound by rules and fear. I could sense their weakness just by their scent. But Celine had been different. My attention had locked onto her the moment she walked into my bar. No one dared to look at her because they knew I wanted her. She carried a strength few humans possessed… and it stirred something in my wolf.
Having her in my arms hadn’t been difficult. Controlling myself, however, had been. Holding back the animal side of me while I took her had required restraint I wasn’t used to exercising. I had wanted to give her more, and she had welcomed it without hesitation. She hadn’t faltered once. She had given herself to me completely.
That had fed my ego.
When I woke up alone in that car, I realized just how naïve I had been. I had let a human’s emotions drag me dangerously close to failure. I let myself be carried away by her… and I swore I would never make that mistake again.
And now, two years later, she returned… claiming I had a child with her. Threatening me.
“DAMN IT!” I roared in frustration. I shifted into my wolf form and took off toward my pack.
I entered the village with rage spilling into every corner of the place. Everyone moved aside as I made my way toward my house.
I shifted back into my human form and slammed the door open, the hinges groaning under the force.
“What happened, my Alpha?” Angél was seated in my chair, but the moment she saw me, she dropped to her knees.
“That’s none of your concern.” I brushed past her without sparing her a glance.
“Of course, sir.” I heard her voice falter and turned back. “Get up.” She obeyed, looking at me with sad eyes. “What are you doing in my house?” My tone was cold.
“As your future wife, I thought I could spend more time with you… learn your habits, your preferences.” She stepped closer with a gentle smile. I narrowed my eyes. “What can I do for you, my Alpha?” I growled, irritation slicing through me.
“Leave. Now. Don’t come back unless I call for you.” My voice darkened. I had no patience for her devotion.
“Yes, my Alpha.” She stepped away, her shoulders sinking in quiet defeat.
“If you want to be my Luna, then carry yourself like one. I don’t tolerate weakness at my side.” She straightened immediately, glancing back at me over her shoulder.
“It won’t happen again, sir.” Angél left, closing the door carefully behind her.
I continued toward my office. I needed to know exactly who that woman was… and what I was dealing with.
As soon as I began digging, I found out that Celine Jones was one of the most powerful businesswomen in the country. CEO of the Jones & Associates Construction conglomerate. Her face was on the covers of the most influential business magazines, and she was considered a leader in the construction industry.
“That’s the difference.” A satisfied smile tugged at my lips. At least my supposed child wouldn’t have a weak matriarch.
I spent the entire afternoon investigating her life, and I discovered she had been in a long-term relationship with another influential businessman. I couldn’t explain why that information irritated me… but I pushed it aside.
By late afternoon, Hector had returned, informing me that some of our most trusted men were already gathering the information I had requested.
“If what she says is true, what do you plan to do?” he asked, watching me closely.
“I’ll bring my pup back. He belongs to me.” Hector nodded and looked back down at the documents I had handed him.
“We’ll only know for sure with a DNA test. But you know that’s risky. It could expose the mutation in our cells.” I raised an eyebrow, trying to understand where he was going with that.
“I’m aware of the risks,” I growled. “That’s why I pay that medical team.”
He tightened his grip on the papers and sat on the edge of the chair.
“Sir, I just think that…” He paused, choosing his words carefully before meeting my eyes. “Maybe the best course of action is to let the pup die.”
I looked at him with pure hatred, rising from my seat and planting my hands firmly on the desk.
“I decide who lives and who dies in this pack.” My voice dropped into something dark and dangerous. “If that child carries my blood, then I will decide what’s best for him.” I leaned in slightly. “And when I want your opinion, I’ll ask for it. For now, you’ll do exactly what I ordered.”
He nodded quickly, shaken by my tone.
“Find the hospital where she is with the boy and inform me. I want the medical team ready the moment I get there.”
“Yes, my Alpha. Of course.” Hector stood abruptly and hurried out of my office.
I sat back down, my gaze falling to Celine’s photo on my laptop. That serious expression. Those dangerous curves.
Everything about her pulled at me in a way I didn’t like to admit.
But now… there was something else between us.
If the pup was mine… and I could save him…
Would I?
And what would be the price of keeping that child alive… while stepping into a war with his mother for custody?
Just as I ruled my territory…
Celine ruled hers.
BenjaminI walk through the company corridors, observing every detail with a mixture of admiration and responsibility. The bustling offices, the meeting rooms where major decisions are made, and the diligent employees carrying out their daily tasks remind me of the journey my family has taken to reach this point.I remember the days of my childhood, when I used to visit this place with my parents. It was fascinating to watch them in action, discussing business strategies and mapping out plans for the company’s future. Now, as the heir to the Jones-Reynolds dynasty, I feel the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. But I also feel a deep gratitude and pride for what my parents built. Under their leadership, the company thrived, expanding into new markets and reaching new heights of success. I am aware of the great challenges I face, especially now that I have just become CEO of this empire. As I watch the employees working in harmony, I reflect on the core values my parents always t
JordanI stand before the altar, my heart pounding hard in my chest as I wait anxiously for Celine to appear. The church is filled with pack members and a few of Celine’s closest friends, all gathered to witness this special moment. Photographers and reporters capture every detail, but my eyes remain fixed on the entrance of the church.Ton stands at my side as my best man, watching my every move and overseeing the security of the entire place. Even though our enemies were dead, I didn’t want anything to ruin this moment.“Is she almost here?” I asked him, nervous.“Almost, my Alpha.” He smiled, noticing my unease, and spoke quietly into the earpiece. “Benjamin is about to walk in.” I held my breath as the instrumental music began to play.Benjamin entered the church accompanied by two older children who represented the entire pack. His elegant little suit was identical to mine, filling me with pride. He smiled when he saw me at the end of the aisle and tried to run toward me, only to
CelineBeneath the mantle of moonlight, I walk through the dense canopy of trees, each step echoing in the silence of the forest. Elowen had prepared the herbs and potions needed for my offering at the Wish Tree, and now, following her instructions, I make my way along this solitary path. The route is familiar, but tonight there is a sense of anticipation in the air, as if the forest itself is aware of the importance of my request. As I move forward, I feel my heart beating stronger in my chest, a mixture of hope and apprehension taking hold of me.At last, I catch sight of the imposing figure of the Wish Tree ahead. Its branches stretch toward the starry sky, its presence radiating an aura of power and mystery. This is where I must make my petition to the Goddess of the Moon. This is where I must plead for her blessing. With a deep sigh, I approach the tree, feeling the pulsing energy of the place. I feel small before its grandeur, yet a sense of determination strengthens inside me.
CelineSeveral weeks had passed since we defeated the witch, and life was slowly returning to normal. Jordan was handling some pack matters, while Elowen and I stayed home, dealing with daily chores and, of course, company business. Benjamin was at the wolf daycare, learning to navigate his new discoveries.“I’m still not sure if we should hold our wedding in Seattle, Elowen,” I commented as we organized some paperwork scattered across the living room table. “My life is here now.”Elowen looked at me, her eyes full of curiosity. “Are you worried about something specific?”I shook my head, a little hesitant to share my fears. Still, I knew I could trust Elowen. “The excessive attention we get when we’re there,” I admitted, feeling a knot form in my throat. She gazed at me with understanding and placed a comforting hand over mine. “I get it, but it’s always been like that, Celine. The spotlight turned to you two because of the merger news between the construction company and the lumber
JordanI ran toward the place where Celine had taken Benjamin to keep them safe while we dealt with the witch. My heart pounded hard in my chest after that victory. When I finally spotted them through the glass door of our house in the distance, a sigh of relief escaped my lips. Celine stood there, holding Benjamin in her arms. Both looked frightened but safe.I reached them in quick strides. Celine opened the door and ran toward me. I shifted into my human form and pulled them into my arms.“Thank the Goddess,” I murmured, breathing in their scent, my voice thick with emotion. “Are you all right?”Celine looked up at me with eyes shining with relief and smiled—a smile that lit up my entire soul.“We’re fine, Jordan,” she answered, her voice soft and reassuring. “Benjamin woke up a few minutes ago.”I held them even tighter, feeling an enormous weight lift from my shoulders. I looked at Benjamin, who was smiling, nestled between us, and a wave of calm washed over me.“What happened?”
JordanThe tension was palpable as I watched the witch’s spirit direct all her fury at Elowen, who held the objects that could destroy her. Wrapped in a protective veil of magic, the hybrid kept us safe from the spirit’s advances. We knew we were at a disadvantage, but we could not retreat. Celine stood at my side, cradling Benjamin in her arms, her eyes brimming with tears as she waited for my instructions.“Celine, you need to take Benjamin and get away from here,” I said, my voice low but firm. “Elowen, Ton, and I will deal with the witch. We’ll keep her occupied while you find somewhere safe.”Celine hesitated for a moment, but then nodded, her motherhood warring with the strength of her wolf. She kissed Benjamin’s forehead and began to move away, though not before casting one last worried glance in our direction.“We’re going to destroy this spiteful creature, my Luna,” I promised her, knowing the words were meant as much for myself as for her.As soon as Celine withdrew, I turne
