MasukCeline’s POV
Benjamin looked at me so calmly in that moment that I felt powerful. Somehow, he seemed to be telling me everything would be alright.
The moment I heard Jordan’s powerful voice, I turned and saw him speaking with a man I had never seen before.
From that instant on, I knew things would be alright.
“Daddy’s here, my love,” I whispered to Ben, trying to hold back my tears as I watched Jordan’s rigid stance on the other side of the glass.
“Ma’am, who is that man?” A nurse drew my attention. I was sure she had heard what I had said to the baby, but she needed confirmation.
“He’s Ben’s father. Go. Have him sterilized and let him in.” The woman nodded and hurried off, speaking quickly to the man who hadn’t taken his eyes off us.
He followed her, and for a few moments, I silently thanked whatever force in the universe might be willing to help me save my son.
“The pain is going to stop, sweetheart. Everything will be alright now.” I rocked my baby gently, watching his eyes grow heavy as he surrendered to exhaustion.
When Jordan stepped into the room, his aura of dominance hit me instantly. I couldn’t deny it. He was a force, and his presence marked every place he entered. I noticed the young nurse sizing him up from head to toe before glancing at me with curiosity.
“Do you need something?” I asked her when her gaze lingered on him for the third time, and she seemed to snap out of it.
“Oh, no, ma’am. I’ll go get the baby’s medication and be right back.” I nodded, watching Jordan remain by the door.
“You can come in,” I said softly.
“I’m trying to find something,” he replied, and I didn’t understand. His steps were slow across the room, and he didn’t come directly to me and Ben as I had expected.
“This room is sterilized. Ben has no immunity, and any common bacteria or virus could be fatal.” I looked down at my baby, now sleeping peacefully in my arms, and kissed his forehead, even though the mask kept me from feeling his skin against mine.
Finally, Jordan approached us, making no sound at all, and I found it almost absurd how a man of his size could move so silently.
His eyes met mine for only a few seconds before shifting to the baby. He leaned closer, studying every detail of my son, as if searching for something that connected them.
“If you want, I can request a DNA test today.” He straightened and looked at me.
“There’s no need. I know he’s mine. Even if his scent is poisoned by the drugs they’re giving him, I can still recognize it.” He ran a finger through the few strands of hair left on the baby’s head. “This medication is killing him.”
I shot him a sharp look and carried the baby to the crib, placing him carefully, making sure not to disturb the nasal tube or the IV.
“Let’s talk somewhere else.” He nodded, stepping closer to the baby again, his nose wrinkling.
My patience, which had seemed intact that morning, began to wear thin under the rough edges of my son’s father.
We removed the protective gear, discarding it in the bin, and left the isolation room. As soon as we stepped into the hallway, I saw the man who had been with him earlier speaking to two others near the elevator, while another stood guard by Benjamin’s door.
“Who are they?” I asked, confused.
“My security team. This hospital has a ridiculous level of security when it comes to room access.”
“I think that’s unnecessary. I’ve never had any issues with that,” I said, looking at him.
“Did you have to authorize me to come upstairs?” I considered his words and felt a chill at the answer. “All I had to do was say I was his father, and they let me in. Anyone could have done that. You should be more careful. Given your position, I assume you have enemies… and once they learn he’s my son, you’ll gain a few more.” His words unsettled me. There was no arguing with him. The hospital’s failure had just been thrown in my face.
“I can hire a team,” I said, clasping my hands together.
“There’s no need. Mine will handle it… until the pup leaves this place.” I crossed my arms, irritated by the way he spoke.
“If you don’t want the DNA test, then what are you doing here?” I knew I had to stay calm, or he would walk away again, but his attitude was infuriating.
“I came to save my son. Isn’t that what you want? Though it seems your doctors are only speeding up his death.” My eyes widened at his statement. “He smells like chemicals. Everything about him is fragile… he—”
I raised my hand, stopping him.
“Your son has a rare form of leukemia. The doctors are doing everything they can, but the disease keeps progressing and—”
“I know. I read the file,” he cut in sharply, dismissing my words.
“You read it? What do you mean you read his file?”
“As I said, this hospital’s security isn’t the best.” I stared at him, stunned by yet another revelation.
How powerful was this man to access so much so easily? When I met him at the bar, he seemed like nothing more than a rugged stranger… and now he stood before me, controlling everything.
“Who are you?” I asked again, and he held my gaze for a long moment.
“I thought that was already clear to you.” His tone turned mocking, a challenge curling into his smile.
“No, it’s not. You said my son is the child of an Alpha. What does that mean?” I pulled him farther from Benjamin’s room, where the nurse was returning and watching us curiously.
“I am the Alpha of the Black Moon pack.” I covered my mouth, nearly laughing, but his eyes narrowed, stopping me.
“You really expect me to believe you’re a wolf?” My hand pressed against my lips. “If that’s the case, then my son is what… some kind of canine?” His irritation deepened, his jaw tightening.
“Lupine. My pup is lupine. Don’t test me with your lack of intelligence, human.” I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I started laughing.
“In case you haven’t noticed, my baby is a normal child. He doesn’t have a tail or pointed ears.” He stepped closer, pressing me against the wall. His hand lifted toward me, his finger tracing along my face, sending a jolt of alarm through me. As it slid down to my neck, I felt something sharp cut into my skin.
When he pulled back, I saw it.
A long, lethal claw extending from his index finger…
The same finger that, just moments ago, had been entirely human.
BenjaminI walk through the company corridors, observing every detail with a mixture of admiration and responsibility. The bustling offices, the meeting rooms where major decisions are made, and the diligent employees carrying out their daily tasks remind me of the journey my family has taken to reach this point.I remember the days of my childhood, when I used to visit this place with my parents. It was fascinating to watch them in action, discussing business strategies and mapping out plans for the company’s future. Now, as the heir to the Jones-Reynolds dynasty, I feel the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. But I also feel a deep gratitude and pride for what my parents built. Under their leadership, the company thrived, expanding into new markets and reaching new heights of success. I am aware of the great challenges I face, especially now that I have just become CEO of this empire. As I watch the employees working in harmony, I reflect on the core values my parents always t
JordanI stand before the altar, my heart pounding hard in my chest as I wait anxiously for Celine to appear. The church is filled with pack members and a few of Celine’s closest friends, all gathered to witness this special moment. Photographers and reporters capture every detail, but my eyes remain fixed on the entrance of the church.Ton stands at my side as my best man, watching my every move and overseeing the security of the entire place. Even though our enemies were dead, I didn’t want anything to ruin this moment.“Is she almost here?” I asked him, nervous.“Almost, my Alpha.” He smiled, noticing my unease, and spoke quietly into the earpiece. “Benjamin is about to walk in.” I held my breath as the instrumental music began to play.Benjamin entered the church accompanied by two older children who represented the entire pack. His elegant little suit was identical to mine, filling me with pride. He smiled when he saw me at the end of the aisle and tried to run toward me, only to
CelineBeneath the mantle of moonlight, I walk through the dense canopy of trees, each step echoing in the silence of the forest. Elowen had prepared the herbs and potions needed for my offering at the Wish Tree, and now, following her instructions, I make my way along this solitary path. The route is familiar, but tonight there is a sense of anticipation in the air, as if the forest itself is aware of the importance of my request. As I move forward, I feel my heart beating stronger in my chest, a mixture of hope and apprehension taking hold of me.At last, I catch sight of the imposing figure of the Wish Tree ahead. Its branches stretch toward the starry sky, its presence radiating an aura of power and mystery. This is where I must make my petition to the Goddess of the Moon. This is where I must plead for her blessing. With a deep sigh, I approach the tree, feeling the pulsing energy of the place. I feel small before its grandeur, yet a sense of determination strengthens inside me.
CelineSeveral weeks had passed since we defeated the witch, and life was slowly returning to normal. Jordan was handling some pack matters, while Elowen and I stayed home, dealing with daily chores and, of course, company business. Benjamin was at the wolf daycare, learning to navigate his new discoveries.“I’m still not sure if we should hold our wedding in Seattle, Elowen,” I commented as we organized some paperwork scattered across the living room table. “My life is here now.”Elowen looked at me, her eyes full of curiosity. “Are you worried about something specific?”I shook my head, a little hesitant to share my fears. Still, I knew I could trust Elowen. “The excessive attention we get when we’re there,” I admitted, feeling a knot form in my throat. She gazed at me with understanding and placed a comforting hand over mine. “I get it, but it’s always been like that, Celine. The spotlight turned to you two because of the merger news between the construction company and the lumber
JordanI ran toward the place where Celine had taken Benjamin to keep them safe while we dealt with the witch. My heart pounded hard in my chest after that victory. When I finally spotted them through the glass door of our house in the distance, a sigh of relief escaped my lips. Celine stood there, holding Benjamin in her arms. Both looked frightened but safe.I reached them in quick strides. Celine opened the door and ran toward me. I shifted into my human form and pulled them into my arms.“Thank the Goddess,” I murmured, breathing in their scent, my voice thick with emotion. “Are you all right?”Celine looked up at me with eyes shining with relief and smiled—a smile that lit up my entire soul.“We’re fine, Jordan,” she answered, her voice soft and reassuring. “Benjamin woke up a few minutes ago.”I held them even tighter, feeling an enormous weight lift from my shoulders. I looked at Benjamin, who was smiling, nestled between us, and a wave of calm washed over me.“What happened?”
JordanThe tension was palpable as I watched the witch’s spirit direct all her fury at Elowen, who held the objects that could destroy her. Wrapped in a protective veil of magic, the hybrid kept us safe from the spirit’s advances. We knew we were at a disadvantage, but we could not retreat. Celine stood at my side, cradling Benjamin in her arms, her eyes brimming with tears as she waited for my instructions.“Celine, you need to take Benjamin and get away from here,” I said, my voice low but firm. “Elowen, Ton, and I will deal with the witch. We’ll keep her occupied while you find somewhere safe.”Celine hesitated for a moment, but then nodded, her motherhood warring with the strength of her wolf. She kissed Benjamin’s forehead and began to move away, though not before casting one last worried glance in our direction.“We’re going to destroy this spiteful creature, my Luna,” I promised her, knowing the words were meant as much for myself as for her.As soon as Celine withdrew, I turne

CelineI sat in the living room, watching the fire crackle in the hearth while Elowen prepared tea in the kitchen. My mind was restless, heavy with worry for Jordan and the recent upheavals in our lives. Still, I knew I couldn’t let that concern show on my face. Elowen was supposedly being manipula
