Chapter 33

It's been days since Everlee had been gone and a day from now was Paris's wedding.

"Paris," Mrs. Poppy called as she entered her room.

Paris turned to look at her, away from her window.

"You're going to be married tomorrow, why do you look so sad and miserable?" Mrs. Poppy asked.

"I wish Everlee's heartless boss didn't cancel her vacation with us," Paris complained.

Mrs. Poppy walked over to her and held her face.

"Try to be happy for tomorrow, for you know Everlee would not be happy knowing you're here in your room stressed out and sad that she's not here."

Paris smiled and began to cheer up, knowing her mom was right.

"Yes, that's how I want you to look, soon-to-be Mrs. Wealth," said Mrs. Poppy.

Paris smiled even more.

Paris hasn't seen Archer since the day he attended the farmer's celebration. She was excited to see his handsome face tomorrow and to look him in the eye when she says I do.
