Chapter 37: Firestorm Set Ablaze
“Can you freeze this river, Mayari?” Evan asked as he gazed to the other side of the watercourse.
They have been travelling south since dawn and the rain of snow continued to descend above them, bringing more cold to the icy breeze. Regardless, Mayari and Evan resumed their travel to find an exit. They know they are not safe anywhere in this curse forest.
Without a word of answer, Mayari step closer to the rushing river and crouched as she took off her one of her gloves and placed her palm to the cold water, freezing it solid to make a bridge for them to pass through to the other side.
“Done.” Mayari bluntly informed as she stood up.
Evan was the first one to take a step on the ice, tapping his feet several times on the platform with force, to make sure that the bridge is hard enough for both of them to step on.
