Chapter 5

“Don’t worry about that right now Dremis,” Marcus said rolling his eyes. “Right now she doesn’t know anything, she doesn’t remember anything. So that is going to play a good part in our world for us.” He said looking at Elena. “I need more of your magic.”

“Alright, I can get some more,” Elena said walking away from Marcus. “What are you going to do to her?”

“Don’t worry about that right now Elena,” Marcus said shaking his head. “I have a plan and this time I think it will work. I will convince her that Carlos and Misty are two people that are going to try and kill her.” Marcus said looking at Elena. “I need something that is going to make sure her memory doesn’t return, this will be a perfect ending to Angel’s quests, they will go on and forget about her, and we will have her and she will live her life out here, and we’ll see what happens.” He half-smiled.

No one said anything, Dremis watched Marcus. He seemed calm for already having the Angels come to his door shortly after they found Anabel. Dremis walked over to the window. “You think this is going to work?” he said looking back at Marcus. “I mean are you going to try and bring Hecta back here again?”

“No Dremis I am past that, I can make Anabel into the next Hecta, she just has to be willing to accept what I ask of her, which I don’t see being a problem seeing she doesn’t even know what is going on. She won’t know what is going on because I don’t want her thinking badly of us. I feel this is another chance at taking Heaven down.

“I hope you know what you’re doing,” Elena said shaking her head. “You do know we still have a problem with Legion and Victor.”

“I know we have issues with them, it doesn’t mean anything,” Marcus said getting up from the chair. “I don’t need to stress about this right now, she is sleeping and that is all I want right now.” He said looking at Elijah. “We need to make a run, we need to make sure those Angel brothers of yours don’t know she is here.”

“Fine,” Elijah said. “I rather them not know she is here either, at least now I get to know who she is, and where I come from.” He said shaking his head. “What are we going to be doing?” he said looking at Marcus.

“We need to find a new place to go for one,” Marcus said looking back at Dremis. “We also need more punch, and we have to go to the human world for that one.” He said shaking his head

“Alright well, that should be easy enough,” Elijah said putting his hood on. “As long as there are no Angels there, it should be a pretty easy and out kind of thing.” He said looking at Dremis. “Are you coming or are you going to hang back?”

“I’m going to hang back for a bit,” Marcus said looking around. “I have someone coming around and I think it’s important you not be around.”

“Alright well I will find the robes and things, you have to go and see that wicked lady for the punch,” Elijah said shaking his head before he walked away.

Marcus walked around the village, he hoped Victor would pop his head out just for a second. Marcus had something he wanted to show him, something that he had to do to him to get back for almost killing Anabel.

“Looking for me?” Victor said appearing in front of some of the humans. “Scatter demons are here!” he growled, they ran into nearby homes.

“I am,” Marcus growled. “I think you and I have some things we need to get out of the way. One you tried to kill Anabel and two you tried to kill me.” He said shaking his head.

“If I wanted to kill you Marcus Legion would have let me.” He said shaking his head. “Have you seen Anabel? Legion is trying to find her so we can start a final war.” He said walking towards Marcus.

“Why does everyone seem to think I know where she is?” Marcus said shaking his head. “I told the Angels the same thing, I don’t know where she is, and even if I did I’m not going to turn her over to anyone just so she can be tortured all over again.”

“See and Legion had some high hopes for you.” He said shaking his head. “You won't know it, but we will come for her, and when we do you’ll never get to see her again.” He laughed.

“You’re not taking her, you’d have to kill me first,” Marcus said shaking his head. “I don’t think you can kill me even if you wanted to.”

“You’ve grown weak brother,” Victor said shaking his head. “Like I said there isn’t anything you are going to be able to do to stop us from taking her and doing what we want with her.”

Marcus didn’t say anything, Victor disappeared after that. Marcus walked to the old witch that he bought the punch from prior. Walking through the door, he was greeted by the old woman.

“I thought I’d never see you again?” she growled.

“Well so did I, but now I’m going to need more of that punch, she came back to me, but she is broken.” He said shaking his head. “I am hoping your magic will help me save her mind before she loses it.”

“Well I cannot help you with anything but the punch, you have to make sure she drinks it three times a day if you want to aid her mind into remembering who she is.” She said handing him a container from the fridge. “If you need more you’re going to have to give me a little time, otherwise I will mess it up and it might not help you anymore.” She said walking around the counter. “You better go the Angels will be coming soon, they always make sure I haven’t helped you.” She said laughing.

“Don’t worry I’ll make sure you know ahead of time in case the Angels want to start some issues with you as well.” He said taking the container and heading to the door “Thanks.” He said before leaving the store.

Elijah meant him in the middle of the village, he had some clothes for Anabel. “Finally, geese I thought I was going to have to leave without you.” He said shaking his head. “Let’s get out of here before we die.”

“Fine.” Marcus rolled his eyes, they both appeared at the same time at the house. “Fine Dremis.” He said walking into the kitchen.

“Well, you’re back earlier than I expected,” Elena said shaking her head. “Your human hasn’t been up yet, so I’ve been cooking and making snacks for her.” She said looking away from Marcus.

“Good, we need to figure out some stronger magic, I have a feeling Legion is going to come and try and take Anabel away from us.” He said shaking his head. “I want to make Legion pay, but I already know there is no way I can take him on. Damn it I wish Hecta was here, she could have been able to take care of him without us having to worry anymore.”

“Well let me look around the books and see if I can find something that we can use to make sure Legion doesn’t come here,” Elena said without looking at him. “Or you can allow him to take her and see what he wants to do to her. Maybe he’ll bring Hecta back and this time the human won't be able to fight anymore.” She said finally turning to look at Marcus. “I mean it’s just a suggestion, it might help us.”

“No, because I know Legion, he will send her here to kill all of us.” He said shaking his head. “I don’t want to put her through anything, if anything is going to happen to her I’m going to be the one that does it.”

“Does what?” Anabel said walking into the kitchen, Elijah and Dremis behind her.

“Nothing,” Marcus said shaking his head. “Something happened at the market, and I am torn about what to do.” He said looking at Anabel. “Everything is okay, I even got you some clothes.”

Elijah pulled the robes from the closet and brought them into the kitchen. “Well I had your son pick them, so if you don’t like the colors we can have them changed.” He said looking at the different colored robes.

“Well the humans didn’t have much of a selection, I got what I thought she might like,” Elijah growled. “Although this one is my favorite.” He said picking a blue and silver robe.

“I like that one too,” Anabel said touching it. “If you don’t mind I’d like to get myself cleaned up and I’ll be right down?” he said looking at Marcus for permission to take a shower.

“Go ahead, you know where the shower is,” Marcus said waiting for her to leave so he could talk to his family a little more about what he was going to do about their new threat. He knew he wouldn’t win, but he had to take Anabel to a new realm, otherwise, Legion would find her and would take her from him.

“What are you thinking about Marcus?” Elena said sitting at the table with him.

“What I’m going to do.” He said without looking at her. “Something tells me I’m going to have to get the angels involved, I’m just not sure when or how.”

“Well, for starters do you think they would help us find the Legion and destroy him, or do you think they will take Anabel and just allow us to suffer against Legion?”

“That’s where I am not sure.” He said shaking his head. “Anabel is both our problems, but Legion is only mine.”

“Well, that’s where you need to create a problem with Legion and the Angels.” She said shaking her head. “It’s not that hard, if you want I can show you just the way to do it?”

“Um no, Elena,” Marcus said getting up from the table. “I’m going to go and talk to Anabel and see if she is remembering anything yet, the punch should help.” He said getting a glass of punch before making his way to her room.

Marcus walked into Anabel’s room, she was still in the shower. He would wait and see what she had to say. He paced back and forth near the window in her room. When he heard the water turn off, he sat down on the bed and waited for her.
