Chapter Ten

My mind kept oscillating between picking up the call from Simon or running after Ray and confronting him.

How did I end up in a situation like this?

I chose the latter and rushed out of my door, ignoring the call from Simon. He was about to go inside his room and shut the door when I called out his name.

"Ray!"

He stopped dead on his tracks and turned around to face me with no emotion on his face.

"What just happened back there? You can't pull something like that for one moment and then wish me good luck on my date like none of this ever happened," I almost yelled in frustration and he just rolled his eyes in response.

"Come on. The way you were so eager to attend his call said enough," he snapped back angrily and I shook my head, feeling pissed at his unreasonable reaction.
