My mind kept oscillating between picking up the call from Simon or running after Ray and confronting him.
How did I end up in a situation like this?
I chose the latter and rushed out of my door, ignoring the call from Simon. He was about to go inside his room and shut the door when I called out his name.
"Ray!"
He stopped dead on his tracks and turned around to face me with no emotion on his face.
"What just happened back there? You can't pull something like that for one moment and then wish me good luck on my date like none of this ever happened," I almost yelled in frustration and he just rolled his eyes in response.
"Come on. The way you were so eager to attend his call said enough," he snapped back angrily and I shook my head, feeling pissed at his unreasonable reaction.
"That's not fair. I am standing right in front of you now. Aren't
"Thanks for the movie and the dinner. I had a really good time," I turned to Simon's side and gave him a small smile after we pulled up in front of my building."Are you sure? I felt like you didn't enjoy it much and you were mentally somewhere else," he stated with a small chuckle and I noticed him, shaking his leg in nervousness."Ummm....this is my first date and I guess I was just nervous. I'm really sorry if I ruined your evening," I apologised in a sincere tone and he shook his head lightly."You don't have to apologise at all. I should have made this date more interesting and exciting for you." He let out a small pout and I felt so bad. It would have been the best date if I had put my heart and soul into it and I didn't want him to be hard on himself."It was the best first date, Simon.""Well, I might actually believe you since there was literally no competition." He joked, making
My phone started to buzz in my jean pocket and I immediately pulled away from him."It better not be your useless date," Ray muttered under his breath and leaned against his door while I looked at the caller ID.It was my Grandma.Fuck, did she sense that I was doing something wrong?I swear these elder people have some kind of special radar to detect all our sneaky encounters."It's my grandma. Shush!" I silenced him and walked a few feet away from his door before picking up the call."Hey Grandma, how are you?" I asked in a chirpy voice and looked at my watch. It was way past midnight.Damn, how long were we making out?"I'm fine, beta. Were you asleep? I just felt like hearing your voice. I miss you so much."I smiled at her response and realised how much I missed her
"So you guys didn't kiss?" Trina almost yelled, earning a few questioning glares from the people around us at the cafeteria."No and keep your voice down.""I thought you liked him, babe. What's wrong?" she asked with a small pout and I decided to tell her everything that happened last evening."Aww, poor Simon. It's not your fault that you didn't feel it,babe but wait a minute, I thought you hated Ray. Wasn't he being mean to you and irresponsible?" She questioned again, pushing her silver blond hair away from her face and continued to eat her sandwich."Yeah but he is also irresistible..." My voice trailed off and I didn't meet her gaze. I continued to play with the ends of my hair, twisting it between my fingers."Oh my God! You like him!" She exclaimed with a huge smirk plastered on her face and I rolled my eyes at her response."Yeah I do but I told him it won't work out between us just this morning.""Let me guess, h
"What? I just did you a favor. You should be thanking me." He replied cockily while red hot anger raged through my body."How is kissing me a favor? You had no right to do that." I snapped, pushing him away by placing my hands on his hard chest but he didn't bulge and stood there staring at me with amusement twinkling in those deep blue eyes."I'm pretty sure you enjoyed that but the point is," he paused, taking a deep breath,"He just--He wants to get into your pants and I know for a fact that all you want is a 'loving boyfriend'." He scoffed, air quoting the last two words which didn't make the situation any better."Oh and you are so much better than him." I spat with sarcasm dripping in my tone and noticed the vein in his neck popping out in anger."Atleast I'm fucking straight forward about it instead of swaying you with chessy lines or silly romantic dates," he spoke, taking a step closer towards me a
"I always sleep on the left," he announced as soon as we entered my room and I raised my eyebrows, giving him a murderous glare."Jeez! Alright." He raised his arms in defense, letting out a low chuckle and chose to sleep on the right while I lay down next to him, making sure that I was almost near the edge of the bed and not even my t-shirt was touching any part of his body. I turned off the lamps and complete silence filled the room except for our heavy breathing."You know, you might actually fall off the bed if you move any further." He laughed, making me scowl and I realised that he was actually enjoying this."Just shut up and sleep before I kick you off my bed.""Feisty. I like it." He purred and I felt him shifting beside me. I turned to my side to find him already looking at me. Though the lights were off, the faint moonlight, shone through my window, enough for me to make out his facial features
The next morning I woke up to the loud ringing of my phone and groaned in frustration. It was the weekend and I had no class or work today. I tried to ignore it but it continued to ring so loudly and I cursed myself for not putting it on silent yesterday. I let out a loud sigh and tried to reach out for it but I was unable to get it from my bedside table as I was trapped between a set of strong arms. I blinked a few times before turning around swiftly to find Ray sleeping with a peaceful look on his face and memories of last night came flashing to my mind.Every part of me craves you.Heck, I liked you since the second I set my eyes on you.I was so fucking jealous.I'm selfish like that.Wow! It wasn't a dream after all and a small smile crept on my face.He likes me.And I was in with love him.
After talking a nice long bath, I came outside the bathroom, wearing just my bathrobe and slowly tiptoed towards the bed. He was still sound asleep but I placed the duvet above his face so that he wouldn't be able to see me changing, just in case he wakes up in the middle or something.I headed over to my wardrobe and grabbed a pink lehanga that resembled the closest to a saree and started to wear it. The blouse had a sweetheart neckline with silver embroidery designs and it was completed netted. The skirt was a beautiful shade of pink that flowed down my waist and it almost felt like I was wearing a ball gown or something.God, this was the most Indian I've felt since I came here. Finally, I grabbed my netted dupatta and wrapped it across my chest, making tiny folds to the cloth and secured it with a pin to make sure it stays in place over my shoulders and took the other free end of the cloth and tucked it insid
"Uh...I didn't..I mean, I had no idea." I let out a nervous chuckle as his dad gave me a puzzled look."I'm sure he must have his own reasons." He stated, adjusting his tie and we both stood facing each other in awkwardness as I had no idea what to say and my mind was still trying to figure out why in the world Ray would need a roommate if he owned the apartment. How rich was he exactly?"Would you like some tea? Or some Indian sweets perhaps?" I asked, trying to break the ice and he just gave me a warm smile."I would love that, Ridhi.""Perfect, please sit down. I'm sure Ray would be back home any minute now." I added and walked towards the kitchen to make some tea."Which part of India are you from?" he called out from the living room, as I was boiling the water and throwing in some tea leaves."Uhhh...the south actually.""Coo
