Chapter Thirty One
Two Years Later,
"Woohoo!" Eshika yelled on top of her lungs, raising her shot glass and chugged it down in one sip.
"Damn, girl! Take it easy," I laughed, hoping that we weren't drawing much attention in the crowded bar.
"Always the party pooper! Come on, babe! We are here to celebrate you. You fucking did it." She squealed in excitement, making me grin widely.
"I know. It still feels surreal."
"To the new CEO of the D'Souza Enterprises in Texas," She raised another glass and I copied her actions, letting out a small chuckle.

She was right. I fucking did it and my entire family would have been so proud of me. I worked so hard to branch out our company and it was finally happening.

"Do we have the guest list ready and everything set up in the party hall as we discussed?" I asked my secretary and kept flipping through the pages of the document in front of me. It was still hectic and stressful to multitask a lot of things at once and even after a week I was trying so hard to get used to the whole CEO thing.I thought it would be fun but it was so much of work and responsibility and everyone back in India were counting on me to bring more business to the company from abroad.As if there wasn't enough pressure already."Yes, Ms. D'Souza. He was a average built guy who must be in his late twenties with wavy brown hair and deep blue eyes which reminded me of a certain someone. I shook my head immediately and turned back to my documents at hand.

Ray's POV:"I see it all, sweetheart." I called out with my hands shoved inside my pockets and I couldn't peel my gaze away from her. She looked absolutely stunning, standing over there and gracefully carrying herself through the entire party.I just wanted to blend in the crowd and be happy for her success but when she mentioned me on the stage, I felt like my heart was being ripped apart and I couldn't hold back myself anymore."Uhh...Thank you all for coming. Enjoy the party," Some guy spoke in behalf of her and helped her down the stage as she was stunned beyond words when our eyes met and to be honest, she took my breath away with just that one single look.That one look brought me back to life and I bet she felt the same way too. I've been waiting for her all these years and I couldn't believe that she was finally here. I knew I had a lot of explaining to do but I was not going to give up on us now.
