The Genome Library was the world's biggest, partially centralized library. The amount of information the library had was nothing ordinary. Though it was the right approach to put all the information in a single place, so there were many branches of the library with their own section.
Creed has come back to the Genome Library. This time he also observed that for some reason the buildings have changed their positions. Raymond had told this to him yesterday, but he realized that they have literally switched the positions randomly. The buildings weren't moving right now, so he assumed that this must have happened in the night.
He still didn't understand the reason for switching positions. Logically, this was a huge consumption of energy, so if it was happening there must have been a pretty good reason for this. Creed soon dismissed his thoughts and entered the R&D department.
"Mister Raymond, I think I—"
"First of all... No 'mister' or 'sir'! Drop t
Creed followed Jessica to the floor where Raymond was. When they both come down, he saw a vast group of people busily buzzing around in the hall. The place looked so highly advanced it blew Creed's mind. He felt he was in some sort of movie set of sci-fi movie. They all looked immersed in something extremely important. He also observed that the place was not very elegant since several broken pieces of equipment and wires were lying on the floor and in the corners. Interestingly, the huge was also filled with tools and equipment whose function Creed had no idea of."So, this is the main laboratory where everybody works!" Creed mumbled. "Looks like a crummy warehouse...""What you are looking at is like a joint Laboratory," Jessica explained when she heard him. "This hall is enormous, and people usually work day and night here. As you can see, time is a crucial asset for us, so cleaning is always at the bottom of our checklist. Even after maintaining a
Creed open his eyes and found himself fully submerged under impenetrable darkness. He felt as if he was floating on a planet with zero gravity. His entire body felt warm and fuzzy, but most importantly, his mind was filled with utter confusion and shock. As advised by other researchers, Creed was wearing nothing except his boxers and an oxygen mask inside the glass tank. Soon he touched his body and also noticed that many of his recent wounds were already fading away, just like it happened during his visit in a lost city inside the abyss."Are you kidding me... Is this really 'Vyom'? Have these people already discovered Vyom?" Creed's mind suddenly got filled with questions."Wait a minute, this isn't Vyom! Though It only feels similar!""From what I remember, Vyom was much cleaner and energizing as compared to this..." Creed mumbled within himself. "Though this feeling is very similar to when I entered the city in the abyss, I am also sure th
"I think I am close," Creed grumbled.Raymond stayed silent, his mind was still filled with rampaging thoughts. He was not expecting things to turn this ugly. He knew that subject will face difficulty with the inflation, but none of his previous subjects were this crazy. None of them could go past 20 tries whereas Creed was still asking for more even after 87th continuous attempt."God! This kid is like a bull!""He should have fainted by now...""Is he not human or something?"Creed's telling them that he was close lured Jessica into perplexity. She knew how difficult this step was, but she also knew if he stopped now, then there was almost no chance of him reaching the third stage today. His body would not recover from the recoil stress atleast, not for today."What should we do now?" Jessica turned at Raymond.Raymond was silent the entire. Somewhere in his mind he was also aware that this might be it.
Creed went back inside the tank, aware of the fact that the real struggle was about to begin. He faced some failures in Inflation, since he wasn't completely proficient with it. Though he didn't take too long, after 2-3 tries he started getting a hang of it.Even though Creed was faster and tenacious, he was still a human, prone to mistakes. Eventually, after a certain number of failures, he was crossing inflation easily in every single attempt. Creed also noticed that with every successful attempt in Inflation, the scenery was changing in front of his eyes.
Creed was having a very difficult time with the third phase: Awareness. But now Atlas had chimed in to share some of his efforts, Creed was somewhat hopeful this time. With a companion, he started gaining his lost hope. He knew Atlas wasn't just an ordinary weapon, but very mysterious and knowledgeable. If it wasn't for his help inside the Abyss, Creed couldn't have climbed all the way up to the surface. Not much time had passed since the time he came back from the abyss. Atlas was not just a weapon, but a being with a rationale. Creed became self-conscious about using him while training, even though he wanted to. As a result, he was still oblivious to the actual extent of Atlas' abilities and intellect. It was impractical to even consider that they could be palsy-walsy with each other just from day one. The awkwardness between them was still deeply rooted within their bond. After getting a heads up from the Atlas, Creed began with the process without wasting mo
"Raymond, look at this data!!" Jessica was gazing at the holograms in Raymond's office, "These readings make no sense. Does he not have a pain tolerance in his body? What kind of magic did he pull in there?""No! It's not like that. I checked his brain scans during the experiment. I am sure he can feel pain.""Then how did he pull it off?""I don't wanna be philosophical here, but I guess it's the rare case of what you call sheer willpower. Calculations and mathematics are just tools that throughout history have been challenged by humanity's willpower again and again. And when I said there are stray variables in the experiment, I meant things like this. This kid is very odd.""I see..." Jessica glanced at him again, "Well, since we have already accomplished some part of the experiment. Will you tell him now? Tell him...""..." Raymond said nothing, he tried, but word were reluctant to come out."You have to tell him, that using the ski
Three months have already passed. Creed has become much more proficient with his new berserk skill: Catharsis. He has practiced Catharsis with all his might. After butting head with the skill for three months, Creed has understood the skill to a considerably deeper level.During these months Creed was both frustrated and happy. His frustration rooted out of the fact that his new skill was extremely difficult and complex. But his happiness rooted from finding something which can engage him to this degree. The challenges that Catharsis provided during his practice have taught him so many things about chakra he never knew before.During these three months, he has done nothing but practice the skill in Genome Library with Raymond and his team. This seclusion was necessary because learning the skill was impossible without the catalytic energy that V-53 provided. The reagent would act as a constant source of nutrition to his body, which would replenish his heavy
A mysterious armored-man had saved all of their lives. They had already realized that fighting the vast horde of beasts was not possible for them. Jayden and others were intelligent enough to that now the situation has slipped out of their control. If they needlessly try to act brave, they wouldn't survive.Looking at the situation, they also noticed that even though the armored man was alone, he didn't need their help in clearing out the beast. He was mercilessly burning and slashing the horde. Very soon, the armored man took aim and shot three more times. The blazing heat burned the beast blocking the path and created an opening big enough for them to escape.Jayden and the team gazed at the armored man sincerely. A hint of subtle gratit
