Chapter 9: The Library

"That bird! What's the matter with him? Did he bump his head somewhere else, making him back to his grumpy old self?" Arabelle grumbled to herself as she picked up the flowers scattered on the floor. She tried talking to the two clamators, but they still wouldn't allow her to pass.

After collecting the flowers, the lady glared at the two birds, causing them to flinch, before turning her back on them and finally leaving.

Prince Aegolus, on the other hand, eavesdropped from outside the door. As he heard Arabelle's footsteps getting farther, he smirked.

"Seriously, what are you up to?" Alfindi inquired, perplexed. Looking back at the prince, who was making his way back to his table.

"Nothing, just teaching someone a lesson," the bird replied.

"Lesson?"

"Uhumm! A lesson that will teach her that caring for some stupid strangers—"

"Will make you jealous...so she should stop caring about others and start caring about you," Alfindi interrupted.
