SHAY'S POVWe moved off to the kitchen, where she made me food. It wasn’t until then that I realized that I was super hungry. She explained that it was because of travelling through the barrier. Apparently if you’re not prepared for it, severe hunger is one of the after effects.“So you actually have to be prepared to go through the barrier?” I asked.“Yes, you have to. It is against the law to go through the barrier though. There are only four people that have ever crossed the barrier, and your mother is one of them,” she informed me.“Did she make it back?” I asked curiously.“I don’t know child. Like I said, your parents are missing, so no-one knows where they are,” she responded.“Alright! Can humans actually go through the barrier?” I asked.“No! Only supernatural creatures can go through the barrier. Even if you have a smidge of supernatural blood, you can go through,” she explained.“What is the barrier made out of?” I giggled, remembering the ‘minerals’.“Very powerful magic,”
AZALEA’S POV“What is it?” a voice whispered.“I don’t know! It looks like a nomad, but nomads can’t cross the barrier,” another voice whispered.“Well, should we wake it up?” the first voice asked.“I don’t think that’s necessary! It looks like it’s waking up on its own,” the second voice replied. My eyes fluttered open to be met by two pairs of bright green eyes, each with a hint of yellow in them. They were staring at me curiously. I looked at the faces looking at me. Both had blonde hair, except one was a guy and the other was a girl. They looked a lot alike, and I guessed that they were twins. They both have the same shaped nose, as well as pink and plump lips.“Hi,” I broke the silence. Both their eyes widened.“It speaks,” the guy said in awe.I frowned. “It is sitting right here.”“Excuse my brother! It’s just that we don’t know what you are. You look like a nomad but your scent suggests you’re not a nomad, so we’re not sure if you’re from the Nomad World or not,” the girl exp
AZALEA'S POV“Is anyone doing anything about overthrowing the current rulers?” I asked.“There’s rumours of an undercover group that is said to be planning to rise against the evil. We’re on a journey to find that group because we want to join it,” Bentley replied.I frowned. “Which pack are you guys from?”“The Grand Pack! We ran away,” Bennett smirked.“Why?” I asked wide-eyed.“Did you miss the part where we said there’s evil there? Our parents are the current Grand Betas and we got sick of the evil, so we ran. We want to join the group that’s fighting against the evil,” Bentley replied.“How long have you guys been on the run?” I questioned.“You mean how long do we have before we become rogues? Well, it’s only been nine days,” Bennett smiled.I sighed, leaning back onto the floor. “This is overwhelming. I’ve just come from living like a nomad for eighteen years, and now I’m thrust into this world.”“I’m here for you,” Shia said comfortingly.“We can’t even begin to imagine how st
AZALEA'S POV“No, I didn’t,” I replied.“What? A girl like you didn’t get any love? Nomads are definitely foolish!” Bennett said with a horror filled face. He’s too adorable.I laughed at that. “It doesn’t mean that every girl with a pretty face has a lover.”“In your case, you have a beautiful face, so technically, you should even be married by now,” he charmed.I blushed. “You’re such a smooth talker Bennett.”“I do try,” he winked, to which Bentley scoffed.“So, do your friends and family know that you left them?” she asked.“I think my dad might have an idea of where I went. He’s the only other person who figured out that perhaps I wasn’t human after all,” I sighed, realizing then that I actually missed him.“Do you know how you made it to the Nomad World in the first place? Or were you born there?” Bennett asked.“The night before I left, my dad confessed to me that I was adopted by him and my stepmother. Apparently she couldn’t have kids and my biological mother saw them fit to
AZALEA'S POVI just went with the plan because I really had nothing else to say. I followed them as we headed into the city. All around us there were buildings. It was obvious that most of them were corporate buildings, but there were recreational buildings as well. Shops lined the sides of the streets. The stores and labels were obviously different from those of the humans, but the very concept of the city was identical to that of the humans. How tragic it will be when these people learn how much they really are like the ‘nomads’.I mean really! So far, the biggest difference I can say Lycans have to humans is the fact that they can morph into wolves, while humans can’t. They possess enhanced abilities that humans don’t. Honestly, that’s about the only difference. Even the food they eat is the same since Bentley had made us eggs and bacon for breakfast, and cheese and ham sandwiches for lunch. We walked to a car dealership that rents out cars as well, and the twins debated on whether
AZALEA'S POVI once again trusted the two people I now considered my best friends in this world, even though they see me more as their younger sibling since they’re both twenty. We left our hotel room before heading down in the elevator. When we reached the lobby, Bennett walked between Bentley and I, looking and probably feeling like a million freaking bucks! The unmated males’ attention was definitely on Bentley and I as their eyes darkened to a shade of black in lust.Bennett led us to the car before taking the wheel again. According to the clock in the car, it was 19:49. According to the twins, it was too early to hit up the clubs, so we were going for dinner first. We stopped at a posh restaurant, and again, Bennett felt the need to play ‘Millionaire Mogul’ with us on either side of him as he handed the valet the car keys.We stepped into the restaurant and were led to a table with eyes following us. The levels of lust in this place were incredible, and it seemed like I was the o
BENNETT’S POVAzalea looked terrified!Granted that my sister and I knew that she’d probably never been to a club before, even in the nomad world, we didn’t expect her to look so close to passing out. Honestly, the girl looked like she wanted to turn invisible, which only amplified when unmated horn dogs looked her way lustfully. She unconsciously hid behind me, which made me bring her to my side and wrap a protective arm around her. There was just something about her that exuded innocence and I know what unmated Lycan males can be like. I would have to keep my eyes on her the entire time. She’s such a strong person. She’s stronger than she realizes. I mean, for someone to be thrust into a world they know nothing about, she was taking it pretty well. She shared her fears and concerns with us, but she was still taking this whole situation better than most. I mean, I wouldn’t be so calm after spending my entire life believing I was a normal nomad and then having to transition to this- w
AZALEA’S POVI was on top of the freaking universe!Everything around me was just incredible. A small part of me was still conscious, but the other part was just floating in freaking space! The vibration from the music was flowing throughout the club, which made me wonder how it was not hurting our ears. Bentley and I were just having the times of our lives on the dance floor. Bennett was lingering around like our bodyguard.“Have you ever kissed a girl before Zae?” Bentley suddenly asked me.“No!” I replied. I’d only kissed two guys in my life and they were both ex-boyfriends.She wiggled her eyebrows. “Wanna give these pervs a run for their money?”I must’ve really been gone because I giggled and nodded. Next thing I knew, Bentley and I were lip locked in the middle of the dance floor with wolf whistles around us. I swear I heard a low and possessive growl as well, but I ignored it. We kissed for a good minute, which was a record for me – which I broke with a girl. When I looked up
