Ch 14 - Simian

SHAY'S POV

My head was spinning once I was on the other side. I felt nausea as I kneeled. I was surrounded by complete darkness. This went on for about thirty minutes before a light appeared before me. I couldn’t see Kay anywhere as the light came closer. The closer the light came, the brighter it was, which had me shielding my eyes. When I heard birds chirping, I opened my eyes and blinked a couple of times.

For the first time in two years, my enhanced senses were a blessing as I took in the sight before me. It was breathtaking. It looked like I was standing at the edge of a forest, looking out at the rest of the place.

In the distance, I could see the houses and all. When I looked to the left, it looked like that part of the place was darker and different. I noticed that this part looked ‘modern’ while the other looked ‘medieval’.

I turned back to look at the vast forest behind me. The different scents in the wood were tantalizing my nose. I followed my instincts and went inside the
