ELINNA
The door flew backwards and the gust of wind threw me back against the wall so hard that when my back hit it, I heard a crack and I didn't know if it was my skull or my spine but I knew the pain was spread through my body.I saw stars and I couldn't feel or move anything. Footsteps surrounded me and my eyes slowly opened to see what was before me.
There were people but there were no feet. They hovered over the ground like they were flying. I could see their black cloaks dangling and covering where their feet should be.
“They came for the orb. You need to get up, Elinna. If they get hold of that orb and find a way to break the seal, then we're down for. They will use the orb from take your powers. You have to get up.”
It was easy for her to say, it wasn't her body that was being used as a host and flung around everywhere. I'm very sure I had broken a couple of bones just not but that wasn't the case. <
CARLISLEThey had left me again. Savannah didn't though. Peter and I gram walked out to get Ingram's nose looked at but she didn't budge. There was another police man in the room but he just stood there quietly. “Why didn't you go with your friends? Didn't they report me to daddy?” She actually laughed and I figured she wasn't as dumb as them. “No, he had that coming and I'm actually glad you did that.”I shrugged carelessly and then, the quiet. After a few moments, the only thing that could be heard was the tapping of Savannah's shoes. But she broke the silence. “Rookie, can you get me a cup of coffee? And get something for Mr Evergreen too. We're going to be here for a very long time so we need to be ready for that.” I frowned. Not because she asked for coffee but because I had noticed her face when Ingram had picked up his cup of coffee and room for a sip. She looked disgusted. She hated coffee so why did she ask for it? I stayed quiet as the Rookie moved towards the doo
CARLSILE“So you're saying you don't know who that is?” I didn't look up from the pictures. “Do you want me to confess to something I don't know?” “No, Mr Evergreen. That's not what he means. He just wants to make sure that you look at the pictures well and you don't know who that is.” Since it was Savannah that spoke, I decided to be nicer and I pulled the pictures closer to me and pretended to take a closer look at them only to push them away and sit back in my chair. “No, I don't know who that is.”Peter and Ingram looked at each mother and the duo laughed. “That’s funny. Because we know the both of you have been in frequent contact. In fact, you call him a lot and you seem to be on speed dial. That's Deputy District Attorney Owen Jefferson. Does the name ring a bell now?” There was no need denying it. “Yes, I know him. We've had a couple run-ins. What happened to him?” “He was found outside a night club. You want to know which one?” Peter looked at Ingram who pulled out
CARLISLE“They have a few questions to ask, that's all. They're just doing their jobs. Please, let them.”That was what the Commissioner told me when I stepped in and saw him on his way out. That was four hours ago. They had dropped me in the interrogation room and walked out, leaving me staring at the wall as if I were in rehab. All my calls for attention were not responded to and the door was locked. I believed my lawyers would be here by now but they didn't let me see anyone. So I just sat down and stayed quiet. It was a struggle, a show of power to let me know who was boss. I was in their domain so I didn't say anything. All I wanted to do was leave. Someone had to take responsibility for this madness somehow. Someone just had to. I looked at my watch. It was almost midnight. They wanted me to spend the night in this place without proper documentation or explanation as to why I was here. Naturally, I could have ripped the door right out of its hinges and walked out but I d
ELINNAOf I didn't know any better, I would have said that the NYPD had the hots for my family because eehy were they on our tails? We were still trying to figure out how to get ourselves out of pending issue on ground and here thy were making things harder for us.How did they find all that information out if someone hadn't snitched?.On the plane ride home, I kept telling Carlisle that I had a feeling one of his men had gone against him and had mouthed off to the police but being the kind of person he was and the fact that his men were his life, he didn't want to hear it.“What makes you think that they're as loyal as you say they are? Why do you think none of them can do this?”.He practically rolled his eyes.“These men have been with me for years, fighting by my side thought everything. Why would they betray me now? It just makes no sense.”I dropped it since I didn't want it t
CARLISLEThe car ride was silent. From the time I got into the car till this point, I'd been facing the window..Firstly because Elinna was in the car with me and I had nothing to say to her. Actually, I had a whole lot of say to her. We needed to talk about everything that had happened but I didn't know where to start from.I hadn't been there for her when she needed me the most. She shouldn't have gone to that mountain by herself but I pushed her into Lawrence's arms and made her go with him. I should never have accused her about that heinous act. Then, Keisan's departure.I was so used to him being a part of me that I couldn't imagine myself without him now. At some point, I knew that he had to leave but I didn't want to come to terms with that fact just because.I was glad that all the trouble was all over and Elinna could finally be happy and live the life that she wanted and had envisioned for herself.&nbs
ELINNAIt had been three days since it all ended.Carlilse and Lawrence came to get me from the room. Looking back at it all, it still felt like a dream. A very long dream that I had to wake up from.I had felt the peace that I hadn't felt in a very long time and it made me smile.Even though things were fine here, things weren't fine in the city do we had to go back.Carlisle told me about Haggarth and everything that happened with Lily, Ben and Gina. They were the ones who ran me over. I wasn't even surprised hearing it, the evil in tier hearts made them perfect hosts for Haggarth's plans. I didn't feel bad they were dead either. I won't lie and say that I did. They deseverved every bit of it.The only downsides to this whole thing ending were the goodbyes we had to say.First to Ice and then, to Kesian. I had completely forgotten that the only reason he was here was because of the Fatals. Now that they
