Amber

Ashlee’s eyes flash silver for a moment, and I see her struggle, her head whipping back and forth. But then, the mania returns, and she lunges for my throat again. I buck and wriggle beneath her, but she’s too heavy.

Suddenly, a loud growl reverberates through the forest. It’s Alex - or maybe Eris? Does it belong to a Lycan or a dragon? In this commotion, it’s hard to tell. The figure charges towards us, shifting mid-air into a massive...dridder?

My eyes widen with realization - this is Edison coming to save me, not Alex, or Eris. I almost laugh at that. To think my familiar is more knowing of when I’m in danger is laughable.

“What are you doing to Amber?!” Edison shouts before his massive hand swoops down, grabbing Ashlee and holding her in front of his glowing, spider eyes. “Just who the hell do you think you are attacking my master like that?”

I shift back into a human, staring up at Edison, who is holding Ashlee as if she is nothing more than a toy.
