“You slept with Alex, didn’t you?” Eris’ voice is like a gunshot, his expression twisted into something between disbelief and betrayal.

I can’t look at him as I nod slowly. “I did.” It’s the worst thing I’ve ever done to him. I had sex with Alex right under his nose, knowing how much it hurts him. We are mates, but...I was with Alex first. “It seems I can’t stay away from him.” I add, for what reason, I don’t know.

Eris locks his eyes on mine, hissing. It’s such a dangerous expression I fear he will hurt me. Instead, he approaches me and pushes me up against one of the trees. I’m shocked. It seems there is a darker side to Eris and I find myself liking it. Heat spreads between my legs, something my dragon mate doesn’t miss.

“Wait,” Eris pauses, his eyes darkening. “Do you like that I’m angry with you?”

I don’t answer him. I just bite my lower lip and Eris smirks, suddenly slamming his hand around my throat, choking me softly but forcefully enough to know he is in charge.
