Author's POV

Emerald was furious; she stormed into his study.

Egon looked up from his laptop.

"Missed me?"

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to control her anger.

"I told you to give me some time... I'll find a way out. Why are you so desperate to marry me?"

She shredded the invitation card sample in front of him and tossed it on the desk.

He smiled mischievously and took off his reading glasses.

"I told you, you can't do shit... I have no living family member left."

"I don't understand if you are really manifesting this... Aren't you happy that I am trying to find your family..."

She slammed her hands on his table.

"Egon why don't you understand that we are going to kill each other if we get married... There is nothing left between us except hate and revenge... Why are you wasting time and money on a wedding? We are capable enough to ruin each other without all that drama. I am not going to marry you, stop forcing me."

He got up from his chair, his eyes held her captive as he circled the table and closed the distance between them.

Emerald stepped back when he came closer.

"Nothing is left between us?"

She gulped when she realised that he got offended. It was becoming hard for her to understand the emotions of this man, he is distant one minute and wants her the other minute. She wants to get out of this confusion badly.

She inhaled sharply when he pulled her closer by the waist.

"You really think there is nothing between us?"

His deep voice whispered in her ear.

She tried to push him away, but it's impossible when you are in his clutches.

"I don't feel anything."

Well, she shouldn't have said that.

He grabbed her hair in his fist and sucked on her neck.

"Tell me you don't feel anything when I touch you like this?"

She moaned when he sucked harder.

She cried in struggle and pushed him away while running towards the door.

Egon leaned against the desk with a chuckle while wiping his wet lip with his thumb.

Emerald cursed when she struggled to open the door, it wasn't this hard when she entered.

She turned around and watched him chuckle.

"Let me go!"

She said stubbornly.

"Let me introduce you to feelings between us first."

Her heart started racing when he took predatory steps towards her.

"Tell me, don't you feel excited when I approach you like this?"

He mocked.

She stepped away from him.

"Egon, I am not here to fuck around... What's wrong with you? Why is everything so easy for you?"

She tried to slap his hands away, but he was too smooth to pick her up and drop her on the table.

"Leave me!"

She hissed like an angry tigress and he smirked as if he was enjoying her anger. It turns him on.

Emerald groaned frustrated when he grabbed her legs and pulled her in a kiss. Well, he was the only one who was kissing but he was damn passionate about it.

The man was not leaving a single chance to fuck her. She couldn't imagine what he would do to her after marriage if he got the license.

She broke the kiss and looked away, not giving him her lips.

He flipped her on the table and pushed her dress up.

"No, you can't!"

She gritted when he tied her hands behind her back with his belt.

She was bent over his desk, ass up in the air and her feisty hands were tied.

She could feel the heat rising in her body, especially ears.

He caressed her butt gently before slapping it and making her jerk. She gasped and bit her lips.

"Tell me you don't fucking love it when I touch you like this."

She bit back her moan when he smacked her again.

He squeezed and massaged her red butt cheek, slapping it again.

"No, I don't feel anything. You are exploiting me. That's it!"

She had to deny it, not wanting to satisfy his ego.

Egon smirked and slid his hand from her butt to her pussy, she was dripping. He chuckled, and she closed her eyes, embarrassed.

"Well, little Emerald is saying something else."

He inserted his finger inside and she arched her back.

"Tell me you don't like it when I make you moan like this."

She didn't answer and he curled his finger, making her moan.

"Egon..."

"Do you want me to stop, my love?"

He mocked.

"Fuck me!"

She demanded. The desire went up to her head, now it was hard to go back.

"I didn't hear you!"

He smirked.

"Stop fucking around and do it!"

She hissed at him.

He spread her legs and slammed inside her, her throaty scream echoed in his study.

He slapped her bouncy ass and fucked her through her pleasurable screams.

Emerald's mouth dropped open when he kept slamming inside her at the same speed, his balls slapped against her skin.

He was animalistic; there were no signs of him stopping.

Her legs started shaking when she felt herself getting closer. He pinched her clit, and she let it go with a cry.

She forgot to count her orgasms when he finally emptied himself inside her with a grunt.

She fell on his chest, limp, when he flipped her onto the desk and released her hands.

"Now tell me, you didn't fucking love it the way I did."

He breathed out.

He grabbed her jaw and forced her to look at him.

"Do you think it's fun?... Do I have to tell you separately about how much I am burning inside?... You might be heartless enough to ignore these feelings but I can't, Emerald... Yes, I hate you but what do I do with the love which is hidden behind it... Yes, I want you to go away from my life but what I do with the feeling I get when I look at you with someone else... Yes, I want to kill you but it's also true that I can't live without you... Tell me, what do I do?"

He was frustrated.

"I have no other option but to make you mine forever... You gave me this fucked up feeling, now you will handle it for the rest of your life."

Her tears were flowing freely. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply.

"I love you too, Egon and trust me, staying away from you is hell for me... I still feel the pang in my chest whenever I see you in pain... Marrying you was my happiest dream but it's not anymore after whatever happened... You really think I would do that after eating dry bread in your basement, after getting forced to kill and watch skeletons of my family, after living in fear day and night and after getting played every now and then. You have ruined it for me."

She placed her head on his shoulder.

"The thing is, I love you but I will choose death over marrying you..."

Egon hugged her back.

"I'll let you try your best because it will be fun to drag you to the aisle after that..."

  • Ashes Between Us!   89. Survivors!

Author's POV Egon held her like a man who had been starving for years and finally had something warm in his arms again. His arms tightened around her lazy morning frame, almost too tightly, as if she might dissolve into thin air the second he loosened his grip.“To be honest,” his voice came out low, a confession dragged straight from the center of his chest, “I thought you would never accept me again.”His thumb brushed her waist in slow circles — a habit he developed long before, one that never truly died.“I still don’t feel deserving of you,” he admitted, the words cracking slightly, “even though I’m selfish enough to not let you go.”Emerald’s answer came not through words at first, but through the way she burrowed even closer, nuzzling into the warmth of him like she was trying to sink into his bones. There was no fear, no hesitation — just a quiet, hungry comfort she had missed far more than she had expected.“I was in the same dilemma,” she murmured. She tilted her head to me

  • Ashes Between Us!   88. Twisted Memories!

Author's POV Rafael had been too calm-too smug-when he asked her, "Are you ready to meet the real you?"There was something hidden behind that tone... something sharp, something calculated. Emerald should have protested. She should have pushed back. But at that moment, she was willing to walk into fire if it meant finding out who she really was.Rafael placed a naked sword on the table.A heavy, gleaming blade with a history soaked into its metal."Seen one of these before?" he asked, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Wanna touch?"Emerald's brows pulled together. She knew that question wasn't innocent. Nothing Rafael did was ever innocent. But the curiosity inside her was louder than the warning bells. She stepped forward and traced a finger along the blade-slowly, thoughtfully. She couldn't imagine the things Rafael had used this sword for.She wasn't sure she wanted to imagine."Ohh... who do we have here?"The voice behind her made her turn sharply.Another man stood there. Strikingl

  • Ashes Between Us!   87. The Love!

Author's POV The ocean was about to witness their reunion again.Egon’s lips crashed onto hers with a hunger that had been rotting in his chest for far too long. It wasn’t a kiss — it was a claim, a scream, a desperate pull of two halves that had been cut apart and finally slammed back together. Emerald clutched his shirt with trembling fingers, dragging him impossibly closer, like she wanted to pull him under her skin.He groaned into her mouth, a raw, broken sound that betrayed every night he spent missing her. His body pressed into hers as the waves curled around them, cool on their skin, nothing compared to the heat rising between them. Her hands cupped his jaw, fingers shaking as they memorised him again — the stubble, the sharp lines, the warmth that had once been her home.“Egon…” she whispered against his lips, breath trembling. He closed his eyes like her voice hurt him. “Say it again,” he murmured, forehead resting on hers. “I’ve forgotten how to breathe without it.”She di

  • Ashes Between Us!   86. She is back!

Author's POV Egon had abandoned the island castle long ago. Every stone, every hallway, every echo of that place carried the weight of what had been done to them—every wound they endured, every injustice that had carved itself into their story. Without Emerald beside him, the castle had become a living ghost, suffocating him with memories he wasn’t strong enough to face.So he had walked away.Yet today, he stood in front of it again. The familiar walls stared back at him like they recognised him—like they remembered the man who once ruled them. And standing there now, the past scraped against his heart like broken glass, burning through the thin layer of hope he was clinging to.Emerald wanted to talk. But she wanted to talk here.In front of the castle that had shaped everything between them.He didn’t understand what she had in mind, and that uncertainty was eating him alive. His hope had been dying since last night.
