56. The Heartbreak!

Emerald was being cautious because of her father. The night was fixed when Egon was going to announce their relationship. She was worried, instead of being happy.

She didn't tell Egon about whatever happened between her and her father because he would definitely confront her father, and she didn't want to know that Egon would kill him. 

That night she was ready to go to the party, love in heart and dreams in eyes. She came downstairs and saw all her family waiting for her. 

She frowned at their cunning faces. Her brother, Bertha, her elder sister and the mad King. 

"What's happening here?"

She asked. She had ordered all of them to get ready for the party but no one was ready.

"We are against your decision, Queen."

Her brother said.

"Our Queen cannot marry our enemy!"

She roamed her eyes on their faces. They all were rebels. She took a deep breath.

"Fine!... Then I'll leave the throne..."

She said casually, like she was giving up a toy. 

"I don't want the power which will restrict me!"

Her brother and Bertha perked up but mad King had different plans. He hasn't worked so hard just to let it go in vain. Also, people would laugh at him if his daughter did this. 

He wasn't ready to accept any of this. 

"Do you remember the game we used to play when you were a rebellious little girl?"

He smirked and Emerald frowned. 

"How did you use to do things for your mother?"

Emerald was confident that he couldn't hurt her mother now because she had taken her away from his clutches, but she was wrong. 

"How dumb of you to think that you can oversmart me!"

He mocked and turned on the screen where the video was playing. She was tied to the ceiling fan, and one man had a foot on the stool; he would kick it anytime, and her mother would struggle for life. 

"You bastard!"

She growled. 

Her mother was crying her heart out, was scared to death. 

"This is not it."

He mocked.

"The car in which Egon is coming to the party has a bomb."

Her blood went cold when he said that. Within seconds her life flipped. She was about to lose two dear people in her life, and it would have killed her. 

"What do you want?"

She glared at him. 

"You want me to stop this thing with Egon... I'll do it!"

He chuckled.

"Nah! You are a smart bitch... I'll let them go now and you will kill me.... We need a permanent solution, Egon needs to hate you. This rivalry should continue till eternity... His family is in the party hall, press this button and turn them into dust before I kill your mother and Egon... You have a choice..."

"Are you fucking out of your mind?"

She was fuming with anger. This would destroy everything. She will die alive and Egon will lose his mind. But if she doesn't then her mother and her love would die. The situation was not under her control. 

"I won't do it!"

She still denied. 

The man with her mother kicked the stool and her mother's legs hung in the air, kicking and thrashing for breath. 

"Stop!"

She screamed. She knows that he can kill her. Her love for her mother is unhidden, unlike Ruby's. Emerald never showed her love towards Ruby because he would have hurt Ruby to control Emerald, that's the only reason why she was so harsh with her little sister, that's the only way of protecting her.

He placed the stool under her feet again. 

"Choice is yours!"

Her father threatened. 

She took the remote in her hands, and that was the first time her hands trembled. She never trembled, not even when she held the gun for the first time as a kid.

She released a shaky breath. It was going to destroy her life, she was going to lose Egon forever. 

But she would rather watch him in pain than in the grave. 

She took too long to press the button, so he ordered the man to kick the stool, but before he did that, she pressed the button and killed Egon's family. 

Her father watched her in victory as she fell on her knees, numb; she killed Egon without killing him. She could feel his soul screaming. Her heart was bleeding and her family was watching her with a smile. 

"I'll turn you into dust just like this, Wilhelm."

She looked at her father with bloodshot red eyes and pleadged. 

"Your family will die like this too! Your soul will also cry like my love cried... I'll destroy your empire even if I have to destroy myself..."

He smirked.

"Power is an addiction, my child... You can't destroy this empire because it will turn you into dust too... You are here because of this power."

She looked at him for a second and started laughing loudly. Her psychotic laugh echoed in the castle.

"You haven't recognised me yet! I will bleed to see your family in a river of blood... You fucked up... My life has only one purpose now, you can sit down and watch. Only if you can stop the storm which is coming for you."

She turned around and went back to her room just to break down in tears. 

She couldn't even cry in front of her own family. 

"I am sorry, my love... I am so sorry!... I have given you the scar for life, I'll take any punishment you have for me!"

She cried her heart out. 

The night went by in a blur, and she started getting calls from her security that Egon had started taking over her properties and warehouse. They were pleading her to give them orders.

If she had decided, then she had the potential to defeat Egon's rage, but she decided not to because he had every right to do this.

"Don't call me!"

She disconnected the call and switched it off her phone, Egon brought hell down on Kingslayer Empire. 

He barged into the castle, killing every man who came in front of him. Emerald's family fled from the castle; only the mad king stayed back. His ego was too huge to run away like a coward. 

Emerald was standing on the first floor. Watching her wounded wolf to hunt down her men. He was alone, all alone! His men was standing beside him and was just watching him.

He finally climbed the stairs, drenched in blood and rage from head to toe. She looked at him blankly, not able to say anything in front of him. He was completely a different man. Not the one she fell in love with. She had created this monster. 

His eyes were filled with pain and fury.

"You killed my family, now watch me do the same with you..."

Mad King heard that and smirked at her father.

"Do it!"

She replied to Egon, ready to sacrifice herself for her revenge. Egon deserved to kill her family more than her, she wanted him to do it.

Egon clutched her hair and started dragging her downstairs. Her father came in between but he kicked him, making him roll down the stairs as he dragged Emerald with him. 

The mad king fell into a his feet, and he ordered his men to take him; he wasn't dying without torture. 

People watched as he dragged Emerald to his basement. The Queen who never let anyone touch her. 

The saga of revenge began there and burned everything until there were only ashes left between them!
