Chapter Twenty-Eight

I frowned, mulling over her words. I don’t think the Fates care about me, and I can’t see a reason they’d want more of my kind roaming this world. If left unchecked, Minotaur could do such harm. I mean, I do eat the flesh of humans. And it’s possible such a trait could be passed to my children.

I sighed and kissed her shoulder. “I rather doubt the Fates would want more of my kind. I’m sure as far as they are concerned, I am an error that they are just waiting for the moment to cut my lifeline and correct.” I shrugged.

Melite frowned. “Don’t talk like that. You exist for a reason. And it isn’t to be a monster used by Minos. If you weren’t here, we’d all just have been executed. But you are here, and you’ve saved us from death.” she smiled as she reached up, touching my face. &ldq
