Chapter two

Saturday March 2 2007

Dear diary,

Yesterday was one of the craziest nights of my life, I saved a wolf! An actual wolf… he came home with me so I could clean up his wound and we hung out for the rest of the evening! Pretty sure he spent the night out there, he didn't want the dinner I threw together for him. I've named him Snowy because of his beautiful snowy white fur.

Hopefully he won't eat me the next time I see him if I do. I helped him survive so I hope that gives me a pass!

~2:20p.m.~

It's, unfortunately, time for my shift. Oh, I work at a local coffee shop in town, it's called Newts Coffee the guy who owns it's last name is Newt. It's been like passed down for generations or something like that.

I'm not looking forward to going into work, but when life gives you lemons… you make lemonade.

~3:10p.m.~

Thankfully, people haven't been rude today and my boss is giving me tomorrow off. Said something about me being overwhelmed and thinking I need a day off to relax a little, at first I was like… wait a second there buddy… but then I said, eh it's a day off so I'll take it.

I'd just served the last customer in line when another person walks in the door.

Ding

I love that little sound the bell makes when someone opens the door. When I look up, his eyes lock with mine and I swear we've met before but I don't recognize him at all.

All the memories of last night with the wolf come rushing through my head. What the hell is going on right now?

"Hi" He says, his voice is so smooth and his hair is wavy. "Hi?" I look away from him for a second and shake my head, trying to get my mind straight and back on track.

"Um, I'm sorry, do- do we know each?" "I don't think so, I'd recognize a beautiful woman like you" He smirks. I can feel myself blush but I shake my head and ask him what he wants to order. When I take the money he hands me… I see a wolf bracelet on his arm. He also has a wolf ring on his right finger.

"Nice jewelry, I really like wolves, too" "Yeah?" He asks and shows me a necklace with another wolf on it. "Here, it's yours" "No, no, it's alright" "Take it…" He trails off, looking at my name tag. "... Ava" He takes it and puts it around my neck. "Um, thank you" I say with a smile and immediately start playing with the little wolf dangling from the long gold chain hanging from my neck.

"No problem, see you later" He smirks. "Yeah, maybe" He waves and I let go of the wolf charm on my necklace. When I grab it again, the memories fly through my head again!

What is up with this?! It started with that guy… when he came in here…

"Hey, Bridget? Will you watch my register for a sec?" "Sure" She says and I thank her. I quickly leave and try to find the guy.

"Hey!" I shout when I find him, making him turn around. "Told you I'd see you again" "Huh, yeah, um can I ask you a few questions?" His smirk faded and he walked back to the coffee shop with me.

"So what's up?" "Everytime I touch this wolf on my necklace… I get these memories from last night" He smirks. "Would you stop smirking at me!" I whisper yell. "Why so agressive? Now, would you talk to Snowy like this?" He smiles.

"Snowy? How- how do you know about my Snowy?!" I question, tears in my eyes. "If you hurt my wolf I will kill you!" "May I ask you a question?" "Ok" "Do you believe in the Supernatural?" My eyebrows furrow and I look at him in confusion.

"What the hell are you talking about? I don't see how any of that has anything to do with this" "Just answer the question, please" "Depends on what kind of supernatural your talking about" "Ok, do you believe in… vampires?" "Umm, maybe" "What about witches?" "Not at all" "Not one bit?" "Nope"

"What's got you so against it?" "Ava Lynn! Back to work! Your break isn't for another hour" I nod and go back to work. "We'll talk later" "Yes ma'am" "No don't call me that" "Alright" "Thank you"

~One hour later~

He was still sitting at the table waiting for me when it was time for my break. Either he really wanted to hear my answer… or he just really wants to help.

"So? What's the answer?" He asks a few seconds after I sit down. "What's got me so against believing witches exist?" "Mhm" "I don't know, I just don't… out of every single supernatural creature there the ones that I believe most don't exist. And I don't know why, but it's just how I am"

"Ok, that's fair" "Good" I smirk. "What about werewolves?" "What about them?" "Do you believe they exist?" "Maybe somewhere in the world" "If I told you they do exist and I have proof, would you believe me?" It took me a few minutes to answer him, but I finally did.

"I don't know" I say. "I have proof that they exist" "How exactly? Because I look into this stuff and I've never known anyone to know or see anything about werewolves… it's all been myths" I state, raising an eyebrow. "I know it says that, but I can show you, Ava" "When?" I sigh.

"Are you free tonight?" He asks."Probably, I don't ever do anything… hopefully Snowy's still hanging around, I can hang out with him" "I'm sure he'll enjoy that very much" "I enjoy it, he's my only friend" "Your joking" He says like it's a joke. "Nope" "Well, I'd like to say I'm your friend too" "We'll see" I say and we laugh.

~After work~

He left shortly after our conversation, which I was ok with I guess. I'd been waiting anxiously to get home to see if Snowy was still hanging around.

"Snowy!" I say, excited when I see him waiting for me by my door. He runs/jumps at me in excitement when I get out of my car, which makes me laugh.

"Snowy, snowy, calm down, calm down!" I laugh, only egging him on. He licks my face and I kiss his all over, petting him before I go and take my stuff in the house. That guy from the coffee shop had given me his number so we could talk about when we'd meet up.

I'd gotten a little squeaky toy for Snowy for us to play with. I don't know how well that's going to work considering he's a wolf and it's made for dogs. But, a wolf is just a huge dog, right? Oh well, it was pretty cheap so it doesn't really matter if it gets destroyed or not.

"Snowy! Ava's got you a present!" I shout from the car. When I get it out of the package, I hide it from him as I walk over to him. "You wanna see? You wanna see what it is?! Huh, boy?" I say in a baby voice. I love this wolf, oh boy I'm getting way to attached.

"You have to be gentle with it, ok? It was made for smaller animals, you know like… dogs and such. And your not a small animal and like them, if it gets broken it gets broken no worries!" I say, happily and then throw it in the air. He jumps up and catches it in his mouth. I laugh at him and run to him, petting him and giving him kisses.

"You are just the cutest thing I've ever seen! I love you buddy!" I say. "Alright, bud, Ava's going in the house now, behave yourself. And be careful with that!"I laugh as I head inside. He starts to whimper but I have to tell myself not to listen to it.
