DAMIAN’s POV.

I let out a groan as I closed the document, leaning back against the headrest. My eyes burned from hours of scanning names and pairings, the endless list of new pack members blurring into a dull haze. Only halfway done, and my patience was gone.

“Fuck,” I muttered, rubbing my temples. The door creaked open and Marcus stepped in, holding more documents.

“Alpha.”

“I don’t have time for more work. Handle it yourself,” I snapped.

“Should I ask someone to make you coffee?”

At the mention of coffee, my chest tightened. For a moment, I could almost smell it—the faint sweetness, the exact amount of bitterness only she knew how to make. Selena. Gone, vanished, like she’d never existed. My wolf had mourned her, but I refused to. I wouldn’t miss a liar.

“If you’re here to make me more upset, get the hell out.” I coughed, hard enough to sting.

Marcus’s sigh was heavy. “I’ve told you to let me help you, Alpha.”

“I can handle it.” Anything to keep my mind off her. Off the betrayal. Of

KOURTNEY’s POV.“Arghhh!” I swept everything off the vanity table, fury pulsing through my veins. Damian’s words kept echoing—he was more worried about her than about my son. After everything I’ve done for him, after everything we’ve survived together, he still put Selena above me. What does she have that I don’t? Why does he act like she’s the best thing that ever happened to him?My reflection in the mirror looked feral enough to kill her.Damian was supposed to be in Moscow for three days—three perfect days for me to make that bitch’s life miserable. Then I heard he was back, and all my plans had to change. When it came to Selena, I always had to move carefully. I knew she’d never hurt Henry; she’s too soft. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t use the moment against her.My phone buzzed. Unknown number. My stomach dropped.Him. How did he get my number? I blocked him everywhere the second I walked out on him.The phone rang again. I didn’t answer. A message popped up:Pick up the

For a few seconds, I allowed her words to register in my head. Kill Henry? That was ridiculous! The Selena I know would never do that. The last time was because the boy almost lost his life and I couldn't pretend about it—I needed to show everyone that justice would still prevail no matter what or who was involved. But now? How was that even possible?“What the heck are you talking about, Kourtney?” I inquired, my jaw tensed. I was hoping this was a lie. Selena was one of the most composed people I know, she wouldn’t do that. My chest twisted at the thought of that. I punished her once, was I ready to do that again? We have grown so far apart, she would be expecting me to actually punish her again.“So we are vouching for her now?” My wolf managed to ask, his voice weak and feeble but he didn't forget to talk when it involved her.I shut his voice out of my head and focused on Kourtney, she was still sobbing and my jaw tensed the more. The two most important people in my life were at

DAMIAN’s POV. Our flight landed in Moscow but all through the journey to the meeting, my mind was fixated on her. I didn’t want to leave her alone all by herself but I also couldn’t miss this meeting. Kourtney promised me she would take care of her but my mind was still not settled. I had a feeling she was going to do something stupid. She couldn’t be fully trusted but then again, I couldn’t leave the meeting alone. I was needed here just as much as she needed me too. “Alpha!” Marcus called out, jolting me out of my train of thought, “you seem lost in thought. What’s going on?” “How long do we have to stay here?” “We leave for New York the day after tomorrow,” he answered. That response didn’t settle well with me. I didn’t want to stay here until then, I wanted to be close to her and make sure she doesn’t run away. “Let’s reschedule” I told him, not leaving any room for arguments, “we will leave for New York after this meeting. We can have the rest via a zoom meeting” Marcus’s f

AIDEN’s POV.I stepped into the room, and the sight gutted me. Her dreams were all packed up here and she was somewhere—somewhere I haven’t been able find out yet.Almost a week, and she’d vanished without a trace. I had never felt this powerless in my life.I tossed back the whiskey in one swallow. The burn was nothing compared to the hollow ache carving through my chest. The door creaked. Pete walked in, frowning as he snatched the bottle from my reach.“Since when do you drink, Alpha?”“I’m trying to think,” I muttered, bracing my hands against the table. “Why are you here? I told you to watch them.”“Eliah refuses to eat until he sees you,” Pete said. “He’s stubborn. Reminds me of someone.”I arched a brow. I didn’t have the patience for his commentary.“If you’re hoping to resign as beta, I can arrange—”“That’s not what I meant,” he sighed. “Just talk to him.”But my mind was already drifting back to Selena. Her smile. Her softness. Her wolf—wounded and weakened. And I h

SELENA’s POV.Kourtney staggered back, shock flickering across her face the moment my hand connected with her cheek. She definitely hadn’t expected me to retaliate—honestly, I hadn’t expected it either. But the moment I realized what she had done… something inside me snapped. How could a woman be so vicious and feel no remorse? No empathy. No conscience. She wasn’t just cruel—she was rotten. Sneaky. A liar through and through. And God, I hated her. Maybe even more than I hated Madam Rose and her husband. Before I could fully register what I’d done, her fingers tangled in my hair and she threw me backward. I hit the bed stomach-first. Panic detonated inside me.My baby.Oh god—my baby.Instinct screamed at me to shield my abdomen, but I forced myself not to. I couldn’t let her notice. I couldn’t risk it.She grabbed my hair again, yanking me upright. Her face hovered inches from mine, her eyes blazing with pure, animalistic rage.“How dare you?” she hissed. “How dare you slap me?”The

SELENA'S POVI had no idea what she used on me, only that for an entire day I couldn’t move a single muscle. It felt as if my body had been shut down—paralyzed. I lay on the bed staring at the ceiling until exhaustion finally pulled me into sleep. But when I woke, everything felt… different. My limbs were heavy, aching deep in the muscles, yet I could move again. I could stand. Whatever Kourtney had done, it wasn’t random. She was coming after me—deliberately and cruelly—and this was only the beginning.Grace brought my breakfast as usual, and this time I ate. With a baby growing inside me, my appetite had doubled, but thankfully no one seemed to notice except Marcus. He’d promised not to say a word, and I believed him. If there was one thing he’d proven, it was that he kept his promises.I hadn’t seen him since that conversation, which was fine by me—I didn’t owe him explanations. I hadn’t even answered his question about the baby’s father. It wasn’t his place to know anything about
