Damian's POV

“I have a feeling he was bad-mouthing me,” she said lightly, crossing the room toward me.

“He is just doing his job,” I replied, “Aren’t you supposed to be resting?” I raised a brow, “What are you doing here?”

“I couldn’t rest,” she admitted softly, “Not when Henry still hasn’t even moved.”

“He will be fine, Kourtney.”

She sighed, lowering herself gracefully onto the sofa opposite me. Her black dress clung to her like second skin, dipping low enough to reveal the curve of her collarbone. For her, it was casual, normal but it was hard to ignore the way her presence filled the room.

“You really did good out there,” she said after a pause, her voice carrying a mix of admiration and something softer. She rose and moved closer, rounding the table until she stood right in front of me. “You really did good. Getting justice for Henry. I didn’t think any man would do that for him.”

“He is my responsibility,” I told her, my voice quieter now. “You are too.”

“Yeah?” A small smile pl

“Alpha.”The pack healer bowed as she stepped into the study. I pushed aside the document I had been pretending to read, my focus shifting to her instantly. It had been three days since Henry was rushed in, three days since Selena had been thrown into prison, and three long, exhausting days of my mother’s constant reproach.“How is Henry?” I asked, my voice low but sharp with impatience. “Any chance he will wake up soon?”“He is slowly responding to treatment now,” she replied. “We should keep our fingers crossed.”I nodded, leaning back in my chair. “Keep an eye on him. Don’t let him die.”“Yes, Alpha.”Because if Henry died, everything would change Selena’s life, my pack, maybe even mine.“You may go now.”She bowed again and slipped out quietly. A moment later, Jackson strolled in, that familiar, unreadable look plastered across his face.“Hey, man,” he greeted, flopping onto the couch across from me. “I was meaning to talk to you about something.”I sighed. “What is it now?”My h

SELENA’s POV.I didn’t even know he was there until he spoke before I turned my head around and saw him. I felt numb; painfully empty at the sight of him. His words rang in my head again.“You will stay in prison as long as Henry remains bedridden”Henry was no longer in danger, I confirmed it myself and that gave me a kind of solace. The fact that he would be fine made me feel better. That was the only thing that mattered now, he should be fine. I genuinely didn’t care about anything from anyone, as long as he was fine. But seeing Damian after passing judgment on me made me realize how fickle minded he was. He believed the worst of me, there was no greater crime. I genuinely thought Damian would believe me and just…The iron bars opened up and a bed was brought in alongside a small couch. Seeing it made me scoff. Was he really worried about me or he wants me to be badly alive so he can torture me again.“The alpha asked us to bring this” one of them announced and I nodded, not sayin

DAMIAN’s POV. With a heavy sigh, I pressed my back against the chair and shoved the document to the side. My patience was thinning, my mind burning from exhaustion. When I checked the CCTV footage, I didn’t find anything, nothing. I had combed through every second, every angle, all night, hoping to find proof that she was innocent, something that could ease the weight pressing on my chest. But there was nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was maddening. The emptiness on those screens mocked me, each replay echoing my own helplessness. I had no choice but to have her remain in prison. I couldn’t let her go, not when Henry was still bedridden. A knock came on the door, and before I could respond, it creaked open. Marcus and Antonio walked in. The contrast between them was almost laughable,Marcus with his calm, unreadable expression, and Antonio, who looked as though he had just won the lottery. Antonio never liked Selena; he didn’t even pretend otherwise. Marcus… Marcus used to be quiet,

“The boy,” I asked quickly, “Is he okay?”The guard hesitated. “We don’t know, Luna. We were only told to bring you.”That hope faltered but didn’t die completely. I followed them out. My legs felt weak, but I held my head high. When we stepped into the grand hall, my breath hitched. Everyone was there..Damian on his throne-like seat, Kourtney beside him, his parents, his brothers, even Hernandez. And every single one of them looked at me like I was filth.“And here comes the murderer,” Madam Rose spat, venom dripping from her words. She moved toward me, fury in her eyes, but Damian’s sharp glare stopped her in her tracks. Still, the hatred radiating from her burned like acid.My gaze lifted to Damian. The man sitting before me wasn’t the man who I have sat side by side with to pass judgment on defaulters. He wasn’t the man who I used to imagine through my nightmares . He looked like an Alpha, cold, commanding, untouchable. His eyes were bloodshot, his knuckles white from how hard he

  • Awakened: The Luna’s Revenge After Exile   CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

SELENA’S POV The prison was cold, an unforgiving kind of cold that crawled under my skin and settled deep in my bones. It smelled of damp stone and blood, of fear and despair that had soaked into the walls over the years. The same dungeon Damian used for pack defaulters and traitors. I had walked past it so many times before, never once imagining that a day would come when I would be the one thrown into it. The moment the heavy metal door clanged shut behind me, the sound echoed through my skull like a verdict. That was it. My life, the one I had fought for, the one I had built beside Damian had just shattered. I lowered myself to the hard ground, hugging my knees to my chest. My hands trembled as I tried to make sense of it all. How did it come to this? How did the man who I once looked up to like he was my world now look at me like I was a monster? The memory of his eyes..cold, detached, furious burned in my mind. “You only talk when I ask you to, murderer.” That was what he
