Chapter 3

Chapter 3Startled, Samantha gazed at the opposite side of the bed to see her clothes tattered, looking torn beside the side mirror made her eyes widen.

"Am I dreaming?" She murmured, blinking her eyes severally till she realized she wasn't.

The man beside her whose left arm was tattooed shifted a bit. He shifted from one side of the bed to the other until he hit a stiff object.

With curiosity at its peak, he quickly rose up only to see a young woman sitting beside him and seemed to be in deep thought.

"Who are you?" He asked her, and she looked at him slowly with eyes full of guilt.

Her Hazel brown eyes already spoke everything, she stared long enough for a tear to drop down her cheeks.

The man was confused, he woke up only to find a woman sobbing and it seemed it was because of him.

He tried touching her gently, "What's your name?"

Samantha was startled, she yelled at him at the top of her voice with glaring eyes. More tears rushed down her cheeks.

Quickly, she rushed towards the toilet and slammed the door. The man's ocean blue eyes looked at this half naked woman, his interest was piqued.

"Who is she? I need to know her." He mumbled under his breath.

~~~~~~~
Samantha walked through the streets, the gentle wind blowing across her wavy hair, she walked transfixed and cluelessly not knowing where to go.
Aimlessly, she sighed, staring at every corner of the streets of New York. Her mind flashed to everything that happened to her within a day. It was one of the terrible moments of her life.
Her phone vibrated again only for her to see a message from Jake. She was infuriated. Just then his call came in.
After much hesitation, she finally picked the phone.
"Hello Sam?" Jake asked from the other side of the phone, disbelief evident in his words.
He never thought she could pick the phone, he just tried out of luck.
His voice made her stomach get irritated, she was angry but she kept it all in.
"Talk, I don't have all day." She commanded, her voice sounded cold.
Jake sighed, this was already getting tough for him. Her attitude towards him was making him get tired and waiting to see if she would eventually come back.
"Calm down Samantha," He spoke gently but he was shunned.
"I literally just told you that I don't have all day. Go straight to the point."  She barked at him, making passers by look back at her, but she didn't care.
Jake sighed loudly, his heart skipped a beat, "Can we meet up somewhere in a restaurant, let's talk" He managed to force those words from his mouth.
He was anxious to hear her response, there was no answer for what seemed like eternity, until a lowly voice spoke, "No!"
"Please, this will be the last time I'll call you if you can just come." He spoke hurriedly.
"If I could meet up with him at the restaurant, He wouldn't probably call me again." She thought inwardly.
"Alright" She mumbled and immediately cut the call.
She felt suffocated, it was like torture getting to hear his voice. Hee stomach churned negatively, she wasn't ready for all this.
Little memories of yesterday flushed through her brain. Her eyes widened in shock.
~~~~

The door chimed open slightly at her arrival, and Samantha's eyes trailed around the whole cafe sharply, before she squinted her eyes gently.

Her face was pale as she stared around until a figure waved over to his side, a sigh escaped her lips, before she clutched her bag tiredly around her chest. She was going to be strong, at least for once, she was going to meet with him, and have a reasonable chat with him.

She was finally going to end all her feelings for him, right there, and right now.

Hurriedly, her feet trampled to the floor as she walked over to him, before taking a seat.

Tense, the whole atmosphere grew awkward, and Jake glanced at her sideways, fiddling with his fingers from underneath the table. "Sam." He appeared tensed, layers of sweat forming around his brows, his hands moved over to them, before he wiped them away hurriedly.

"Jake." Samantha said, her voice quivering a bit, no, she wasn't going to be weak in front of him, she was going to act strong, he had disgraced him, she couldn't stand being with him.

His gaze brought the creeps to her skin, his gentle stare felt like a deathly glance, she shivered rather quietly, before she focused her gaze elsewhere.

Her hands drummed against the table, slowly, yet tiredly, "What do you want?" She yanked her hair softly to a side, her voice coming in between a squeak.

"Mantha." His voice broke, and Samantha tried to analyze what she felt, was it fear? Was it hate?

"Speak." She could have sworn she growled but her voice only came out soft.

"I want us to be back together." He attempted to grab her hand from underneath the table, but she slapped his hands away, her eyes blazing with anger.

Hot fury rushed through her veins, and she propped her brows together in anger. Was this man serious? Even after all he had done, he still wanted to get back together? Who did he take her for? Some useless piece of junk, that could be thrown, used, and still thrown away.

She gazed back at him, "I am leaving." She hauled her bag from the table, attempting to push the tables aside gently.

"Huh?" Mockery was laced in his voice, and he tilted his head to a corner, his eyes blaring with shame. Her shame. Not his. "You want to leave? Who wants you?"

She froze, hands trembling lightly, was it true that nobody wanted her? Her shaky gaze met up with his, and she hauled her bag.

"I don't want to ever see you." She replied, before she finally stood up.

"You will only end up crawling back." He leaned on the chair, watching her face turn crimson blue, before she finally ambled over to the door and pushed it open, and then, she ran out.

Layers of hair cramping around her face, tears moistening around her lids, she couldn't crawl back to him, she just couldn't. She reminded herself, for as long as she lived. She would never connect herself with him ever again.
