Chapter 5

"How did you know-" Her words were cut off by the sudden buzz of her phone. The unknown man just cut the phone.

Confusion was visible in her face, was she just going to believe him?

A minute later, a message notification popped in, saying.

"Dear Samantha Markus, you will be working with our boss as his personal assistant, and you get to live under his roof. Plus, you get paid the sum of hundred dollars per hour. Price is still highly negotiable if you want."

In awe, Samantha kept on staring at the message like it was strange. Everything in this message was confusing her so she decided to call the number again.

But this time, it was switched off.

Sighing uncomfortably, she walked home gently. The weather changed out of a sudden, the once happy smile that the sky had was now gradually turning to a frown.

The sky rumbled accompanied with a loud roar of thunder and a flash of lightning. Not far off, the rain began pouring its content heavily, while Samantha had to run home.

~~~~~
At the York's mansion, the heavy yelling of a not-to elderly woman was heard. She yelled and mumbled to her child who did not even seem to feel moved.
The woman ranted and yelled but all fell to deaf ears. Henry's face looked irritated, this woman right here was getting on his nerves.
"Henry, won't you answer me?" She questioned, her eyes boring into his. Henry's eyes held no emotions, he sat on the couch feeling unremorseful for what he did.
"You are a pain to me, mother!" He replied after some time, looking straight at his mother's eyes.
The woman was shocked to hear what her son just said, she was getting anxious.
"Henry, I'm your mother for crying out loud. Show some respect." She yelled again, but this time louder.
"My respect for you was lost years ago, when I was younger." Henry said, his aura was cold and stiff as her body shivered.
She was afraid to talk to him, she didn't want to talk to him anymore, but it would feel like she was weak. She buried her fear deep down in her trying to act strong.
What he said pricked her deep down in her heart, causing her to become vulnerable.
"But still," She tried saying gently and continued, "What you did was not fair at all. Why would you hire a personal assistant without my consent?"
She looked at his ocean blue eyes, but they emitted nothing other than coldness.
The woman felt frustrated already, her face wore a frown, though she looked young without having any speck of wrinkles.
"Henry!" She called out, but this time slowly.
"Look here woman, I do what I want whenever I want. I can never be bossed around like you used to do to me, Got it?"
The woman stared in awe, "Was this the Henry she knew? Henry , that was her son? The sweet and naive Henry she knew before she went to the states?" She mumbled to herself.
She looked at him and fear enveloped her whole body. She couldn't get herself to think that Henry has probably changed, maybe she shouldn't have gone to the states in the first place.
"Alright, but if you really need a personal assistant, there are many professionals outside that you could hire who have years of experience. Just saying."
Henry glared at his mother, his eyes fixated at her, she became frail instantly.
"Mother," He called out to her with a softened tone, his eyes becoming warmer. She looked up with worrisome eyes.
"I'm just worried about that-" Her words were cut short by him.
"Whoever I hire is none of your business, I don't care if she has experience or not." He said and continued, waving his hands in the air, "Don't bother yourself too much on this issue, because it won't go anywhere. Just go inside and take a rest, you are just back from the states after a long journey. Don't worry yourself." He faced down typing away on his laptop without facing up anymore.
His mother smiled faintly, her heart warming up a bit at her son's words, "Oh yes, you are right, I should probably get some sleep, I'm very exhausted."
She walked up the golden stairs elegantly as ever towards her room. Immediately Henry noticed that she was out of sight, so he picked up his phone.
"Come over here this second." He commanded with a full hint of authority.
Not less than five minutes, a well built man with shabby chocolate coloured hair and sharp facial features appeared before him. He was like an angelic sight to seem. But he wasn't as angelic as Henry who sat like a god sent from heaven.
"You called me Boss?" The man spoke. Not only was his body and facial features well carved, his voice was pleasant to the ears. Though thick, it was still pleasant to the ears.
"Any update on the woman?" He asked immediately, his eyes still fixated at the laptop not looking upwards.
His aura screamed coldness and wickedness, his eyes looked innocent but his body was certainly not.
The man nodded positively, "We called her yesterday and sent her a message concerning the full details"
Henry looked at the man opposite him briefly, before typing away on his laptop, "And what did she say?" He asked nonchalantly.
"We never gave her a chance to speak, we hung up the phone before she could speak, but we sent her a message concerning the full details."
Henry's aura changed almost immediately, "You hung up the phone almost immediately?" He asked, his eye color seemed dark and it sent chills to the man.
"That's stupidity." He yelled, banging the table in anger.
Immediately, the man fell on his knees and began begging, "We are so sorry for the ignorance, it will never happen again."
"I don't take 'sorry' after the mistake has been made....Get me those who made this 'mistake'" He glared while the man fled away before he was going to get on his nerves.
