My mom

also mentioned that he could be able to help me with my destiny, even though I never really understood why they were all after

me. All I knew was that I needed to survive and keep running for

as long as I had to. However, this wasn’t like the fairy tales where

the charming prince magically appears to save the unfortunate

damsel and they ride into the sunset on a rainbow unicorn; in

fact, I find those stories to be quite absurd. I was neither a damsel

in distress, nor did I enjoy the comforts of a charming prince.

I’ve been taking excellent care of myself for the past fifteen years,

and I’ll keep doing so—not that I needed one anyhow.

“Pay attention, Isabella!”I made a mental push. I must not let

these recollections get the better of me.

I sized up my opponent and inquired, “Why?” She was obviously

very well-fit because she was much larger than me—well, every

monster I had ever encountered was larger than me. Since I was

smaller than them, I always had the upper hand because they

consistently misjudged me and didn’t survive long enough to

realize how wrong they had been.

“I believe you already know the solution to that one,” she said

with a menacing grin. However, I don’t, um. I’m not sure how to

respond to that. Yes, I was aware that they genuinely wanted me

dead and that it had to do with my blood, but why, for heaven’s

sake, would they genuinely want my blood? Well, let’s talk about

 something else.

How did you find me?” I asked, desperate to find out how I had

 let them get away.

She said in a thick English accent, “In case you haven’t noticed by

now, you have a kind of scent to you, it’s different and just simply

hard to resist. I’m wondering how your blood would taste.” I

 naturally retreated farther.

You are extremely unique and rare. I have been on this horrible

planet for almost a millennium, and not once have I encountered

someone with a scent as potent as yours. Poor lovely youngster.

It’s unfortunate that you are still too young, but don’t be afraid,

sweetheart; I promise that your passing will be swift and

painless. I swear you won’t even feel anything. Like a demon

possessed, she let out a rapid, easy chuckle. “Just like snapping a

 dried-up twig.”

“You know you’ve lived for so long that I kind of feel bad about

having to kill you, but on the other hand, I doubt anyone will

miss you that much,” I smirked in response.

She spat, laughing at my comments, then sent me a sidelong

glance. “Foolish child!” Dark veins shot down her arms and up

her neck in a random pattern, enveloping her eyes in a pitch-black darkness. And her mouth opened, spitting incredibly long

 canines out.

My heart rate skyrocketed, and I asked, “What in the bloody hell

are you?” If I wanted to succeed, I had to know exactly who I was

 up against.

My mind was hit by a recollection of one of the very few lessons

my dad ever gave me. He said to me that knowing your

opponent’s advantages and disadvantages is half the fight won.

He used to frequently remark, “Be one step ahead, Isabella, dear.”

“Oh, child. Have you never come across a wendigo before?” she

went on to laugh, “Scared? You should be.” I heard her bones

snap as she gradually transformed into this enormous creature

that was towering over me. She snarled as I moved to avoid her

claws, but she growled with rage as I struck her with my dagger,

 barely piercing her skin.

It seemed like time didn’t fly when you’re fighting for your own

fucking life, but it felt like we had been fighting for an eternity,

even though it had only been for ten minutes. Guess it’s true

what they say about time flying fast when you’re having fun and not flying fast when you’re not.

I knew I was losing and I was losing fast when I was violently

pushed to the floor and my dagger was tossed somewhere only

the goddess knew. Every single attempt I launched against her

was pointless; she simply ignored them with ease.

Standing before me, breathing raggedly like a wounded beast, the

 massive wendigo snarled.

“Hi! I looked up to see Iris beginning to transform into her white

wolf. “Get away from my best friend, you extremely terrifying

 giant monster.”

“No, Iris, please go.” I groan, for I could never forgive myself if I

caused her harm. I couldn’t bear the guilt of having caused her

 harm. Enough people have already lost their lives defending me;

 no more need to die.

With her sharp claws, Iris lunged at the wendigo, slashing and

fighting it until it was roughly blown away; I heard her whimper

as she crashed against a wall. However, Iris bought me enough

time to grab my silver dagger, and using my element of surprise,

I struck the wendigo right in the heart, causing it to shriek loudly

as its heart melted like ice—I’m not kidding—melting into some

 sort of blue liquid

All the books and lore I read, though they varied in one way or another, agreed that wendigos were once humans with an enormous carnivorous appetite for human flesh; the folklore also mentioned in its contexts that the only thing that could kill a wendigo is a silver blade to the heart, so it seems that the legend was true after all. Well, actually, monsters weren’t born; they were created. Long story short, they messed up with a very powerful witch, so the witch cursed them to be monsters with an insatiable thirst for human flesh. “Is it dead? Looking at the ground where its body was laid?”I wonder where she obtained her large brown coat from, Iris asked me. “Yes,” I answered, shoving a handful of my blond hair out of my face and attempting to catch my breath. “How are you doing? She gave you a pretty good shove.” I put my hand on her shoulder and gave her a thorough examination. “Nope, I’m fine. I would have reprimanded her, but I knew Iris too well

The smell just got stronger and stronger, oh dear goddess, she must be quite close. For heaven’s sake, why was fate playing this cruel game with me? Luca was chanting “Mate! Mate! Mate!” like a holy mantra, and I could feel his excitement just by smelling her. For the first time, I really wished he would just shut up. We agreed on almost everything, except that I didn’t want her. “Beta!” We all took our seats as the waiter took our orders. Lance, my beta, stood up and bowed politely, followed by Gabe, my delta, who did the same but had a corny, broad smile on his face. I nodded in acknowledgment. Since the blood moon was due to rise in ninety-three days, and I was running out of time, Lance presented me with some paperwork and contracts that were in dire need of my signature. I had been spending a lot of time these past few days trying to find a way out of the curse placed upon our pack, but I kept coming up empty-handed. Then, the door

Isabelle’s POV I really did it this time, oh my god. I just had to get a cup of coffee from the only café in Bourneville that served a decent cup of coffee and then off to the university, my own personal torture room. It did serve as a good cover from people that were after me, no one expected me to be studying at a college. I overslept and was already late for my classes. Iris was probably waiting impatiently for me with an angry scowl or she got carried away with boys as usual. When I first entered the cafe, I had this electric tingle that I can’t quite put my finger on. It seemed like I was struck by electricity, but not in a bad way because it didn’t hurt. If there was ever a good kind of electricity, that is. I basically ran on caffeine, so only the goddess knows how much I needed my cup of coffee today. What the hell am I even saying? There were three very attractive guys sitting at the table in front of me; they had the perfect male model physique

Iris was practically glued to Landon as I strolled over to them after class. “Hi Belle! Iris let out a scream and threw me a strong hug. In return, I turned to face Landon, who was simply staring at us all foolishly. Finally, with his awful little piece of shit, he said, “Hey Belle, you were late today, as always.” with his nasty little smirk as. though I didn’t know that I was late. I said, attempting to be kind and choosing the higher path, “Hey Landon.” He said, as if he cared, “Whoa, you look really tired, you should go get some rest.” But could he just shut up and go get a life? I ignored him while I told Iris about the strange guy I ran into today, and all she really cared about was whether or not he was hot, and if so, that was a long answer—hell yeah—because of course they were all scorching hot. A blond guy smiled sweetly as he walked toward us.“Hi, Isaac!”I think they were in the same fraternity,” Landon remarked as they gave each other a strange hug and handshake. “Did he

However, if you gaze into his eyes Are you considering mine? And when you observe that grin Do you think about me? I am aware of what’s going through your mind. Instead, you see me.Because of how much he resembles me from that time. Don’t lie, baby. “He’s just a lookalike,” said Conan Gray. RIGHT NOW IT WAS JUST ELEVEN PM. Iris was picked up by that man whore Landon for the party I blew off so I could study, and it has been precisely three hours since then. Lord knows I was exhausted, but for some reason, I kept my nose deep in my English essay assignment, which was due tomorrow, wondering how the party went. The phone next to me started buzzing. Iris’s cell phone made the call. I grabbed it with great speed. I asked her, “Hey, what’s up Iris?” appreciating the small break from studying she was providing. “Hey Belle!” she muttered, sounding more disoriented and strange than normal, but otherwise sounding like your normal hyper-Iris. She chuckled and said, “I kind of need your help.”

Iris said, “You worry too much Belle. Landon is a big boy andcan take care of himself,” with the same sly laugh that was beginning to really get under my skin. I kept questioning her, “Where is Landon’s car?” I couldn’t quite put my finger on it; something didn’t feel quite right. She said, laughing as if she were under the influence of a demon, “It’s parked up ahead.” I reasoned that perhaps she was just acting erratic because she was intoxicated. This is getting really scary, let’s just get the heck out of here and maybe then she’ll act like herself. I responded, “Sure. Let’s just get out of here… Quick.” as Iwalked slowly in Iris’s wake toward the car. This was obviously not right. My phone buzzed in my hand, but I was too wrapped up in my own thoughts to notice it. Even though I usually don’t answer calls from strangers, I decided to answer this particular one even though it was from an unknown number. “Hello!” nobody answered. The cheerful sound of music emanating from the other

Her quick tone suggested that she wasn’t sure what she was saying when she said, “Ahh… Yes… How can I ever forget that silly night? I remember running so hard that I could barely breathe.” liar I never tried to break out of that damned Willsbury orphanage home with the genuine Iris. That was never the case. Iris would always talk me out of leaving the area, even though I desperately wanted to do so many times, so I stayed. All of this was a test, and this lookalike plainly failed it. I said, “That never happened.”“Who the hell are you?!?” I growled between my teeth, staring directly at my closest friend’s double, “Because you’re not Iris, you’re just a lookalike.” Suddenly, she let out a frightful chuckle. When did you get to that conclusion?Between giggles, she managed to reply, “I really thought that I was pulling it off.” With my eyes fixed fixed on her, I said, “Yeah, at first you had me fooled until you started acting so fucking weird and then the phone call came.” I knew that th

He yelled, making the ground tremble, “I see you know a lot about the supernatural creatures but it would take more than a golden stick to kill me! I’m Alectryon, the all powerful immortal trickster.” I snarled, prepared for another fight, “Well are we going to fight or are you going to try talking me to death.” With a growl, he leaped to the sky like a fucking cat and rushed towards me, his talons razor sharp. I’m going to have to chop off his skin for that blow to the chest. He tried to swing for myneck, but I easily dove under my stake next to his midsection, and I saw black blood flow out of him. What the hell? He’s changing parts of his body in some way just to divert me. He’s mixing different creatures, seeming like a chimera of sorts. You seem a little slow, don’t you?He attacked me at the same time, changing his face to resemble various people I knew. It seemed as though he could somehow see the faces of every single person I have encountered in life. In a split second, he loo

Dimitri’s POV Celeste told me, her voice dominated by terror, “Alpha, the lunar eclipse energy can be felt like no other. This will be the last eclipse before the eleventh blood moon, and I am afraid of the devastating dark tides it will bring.” Even I could sense the energy of the lunar eclipse, which was just two days away, crying out to and fuelling the darkness inside of me. Cessair was going to be more difficult to manage. The darkness with which I was cursed wanted to be known by that name. I looked up at Lance, who was also wearing a disappointed expression. “How about the lead we found with the shamans to break the curse?” I questioned. “It was another dead end. Alpha I fear that our only hope is Luna. According to the prophecy she would be our salvation, we have to believe that.” Alaric remarked, “Or our destruction. I say we find another way.” He needed to learn to respect my mate or I would have to teach him. I was getting frustrated with his loose speech. “What other way

And he ravishes my mouth once more after that, so I believe those lines are exactly what he needs to express his hunger upon me. He runs his fingertips down my abdomen until he reaches the delicate spot between my legs. “I’m going to fucking show you who’s the boss around here.” He smiles. I lay beneath him and felt his powerful hands grab hold of me. I was held and captivated by his ocean-blue eyes as they gazed into mine. He gave me his famous smile as he glanced at me.When I put my palm over his member, I could feel it become large and firm. His voice is filled with lust and desire for me as he continues, “I’m going to make sure you regret your decision.” Screw it! I wanted to feel bad about not urging him to stop. My tongue feels too large for my mouth, so I try to swallow but can’t. Dimitri runs his fingers along my lower lip as his gaze falls to mine. His touch makes me shudder, and his eyes soften just a bit. My heart was racing, and with out even considering it, I wanted to pu

Dimitri surprisingly awoke with a loud gasp. Immediately, his hazel eyes glowed and met mine. He looked at me with furrowed brows as I swiftly withdrew from his lips. I had waves of shame, but I didn’t give a damn. Now that he was awake, praise the moon goddess, that was all that mattered. He tenses up when Gabe embraces him tightly, taking him entirely by surprise. “Dimitri, you bloody bastard.” Gabe gives him a gentle shoulder punch. He gives him another hug for the hundredth time and pats her dark hair, saying, “Don’t you ever scare us like that again.” They were bound together by an unbreakable link.Krys grinned as Dimitri giggled softly, “I can’t make any promises that I won’t do this again.” Observing them both in this loving moment was pleasant. Hands on Dimitri’s shoulder, Lance remarked, “Good to have you back Alpha.” I smiled tightly at Dimitri as his eyes flitted to me. He kept looking me over from head to toe. His distinctive features were washed over with relief. Dimitri

My gaze is fixed on Dimitri in disbelief. “Don’t you dare lay a finger on her, or you will regret it!”. With death in his eyes, he threatens her, saying, “I promise you Saetani. if you harm her I’m going to rip you apart!” He was speaking the truth, and I could hear the anger in his voice. Saerah’s smile fades as she glances at him. She went over to him.“Isn’t this such a beautiful moment? Dimitri is finally exposing his true feelings for his mate. I thought you hated her but now you are even willing to risk your life for her.” Saerah laughed. “Shut up!” Dimitri bellowed angrily. His look was frightening. “I’m going to kill you, let the moon and the wind beat me witness. This is my promise to you Saetani!”. His eyes had a fiery appearance. They were on fire. Raising her long nails, Saerah exclaimed, “Are you impatient to die? Well, then, I’ll grant you your wish!” to Dimitri. “No,” I reply, as her lift her claws at my partner.“No!A rift formed on the ground as a result of my scream. M

I began to feel like my life was slipping away from me, so I pleaded, “Moon goddess, please help me.” I heard the ground and everything nearby tremble as a huge rumble erupted in the sky. “Isabella!” a growling voice says. The woman was flung off me right away. As I gaze at the person who saved my life, I gasp for air. I looked at my Lord. Dimitri was the one. Finding it difficult to speak, I said, “Dimitri? Is that really you? Did you come to save me.” I see his thick red blood oozing out as he bites his palm. To get me to swallow it, he put his bleeding palm in my mouth. I initially objected, but he persisted and forced his blood into my mouth, so I gave in. He says confidently, “Yes Isabella, it’s me. I needed him now. But because no one was arriving, my calls went unanswered. A woman’s voice shouted, “CATCH HER!!!” from a distance.hurried over to the source of the sound. I noticed a group of werewolves, vampires, and witches. The woman in the dark robe was gathered around them. The woman under the cloak appeared to be in her early thirties, but I was unable to see her face clearly. How come they were all after her? There was a problem; I had the impression that I had seen this scene before. Yes, I do recall seeing this in my childhood nightmares, but I was baffled as to why. Since I was a child, this has plagued my memories, and I have never been able to comprehend why. I had no idea why I was having these dreams or what they meant. I knew it was more than a minor nightmare, but every time I tell my mother, she always brushes them off as nothing more. “Namek, how did you do this? You launched wars, slaughtered innocent people, and all for nothing. You committed serious crimes. Mor

I give in and suggest that we make a deal. “What do you want? Maybe we can both come to a compromise. I can offer you whatever you want, just name it.” Everybody would benefit from this. “Tempting, but I’m afraid I only want her. I was called and promised her precious soul. She is truly rare and special, I can feel it and I know you can too. Her soul would be delicious enough to satisfy me for years to come.” My pulse races. How dare she! Who is brave enough to promise her Mt mate? I was going to track out that individual and murder them all! She laughed as I sped forward, grabbed her by the throat, and slammed her hard against a tree. She grunts in anguish as I squeeze her neck, but a sly smile quickly appears on her face. “Don’t you dare touch her, she is mine!”. Her smile vanishes as I put a firm squeeze on her throat. “For someone who claims she knows my family so well, there is something we Castellan’s are known for and that is paying back our debts, we show no mercy to our enemie

Seeing her in this state was difficult. Vulnerable and asleep. I would be a crazy person if she were taken away from me, and I couldn’t bear to lose her. I must have been able to do something. With my full focus, Celeste began, “There’s only one way we can save her.” I grunted impatiently, “How?” Celeste asserts that before Saetani and the dreamscape consume her soul, someone must enter her subconscious and awaken her consciousness. I will not allow her to! “Alpha think this through. If you die the entire pack dies. We are all linked to you Sire.” Tilda had cautioned me. I shot her a glance, instantly cutting her off. She had little faith in me, which enraged me, but she was correct. Since they were all connected to me and shared my strength and power, my death signified the end of my pack. Nevertheless, I co

Her long, thin fingers stroke my face, saying, “So beautiful, so young, and so clueless about what she truly is. So small but hold so much power.” What was she trying to say? I don’t have no idea who I am. Was there something else I was unaware of, or was I the moon goddess’ chosen one? “Your fear smells delicious, dear.” she confesses, chuckling menacingly. I look at her fiercely and ask, “What do you want from me?” Why did she want me?Before I could respond with a spell, she said, “Nothing dear, I only want you to go to sleep.” Her hands were tightly clutching my neck as she carved something with a finger on my forehead. I had a swollen head that seemed like it would burst at any second. The boundaries of my consciousness were brought down by a searing ache that shot through my thoughts. I felt paralysed and lightheaded. My eyes were heavy and my vision became fuzzy, making it impossible for me to move. She laughed and flashed her grotesquely long, brown fangs, saying, “Sweet nightm
