Chapter 6

Orpheus Bathory

"Brotherrrr!!!" Dawn cried out bitterly for his help.

He had turned back to see the headphone stained with blood and it lay on the ground with her phone fatally crushed.

"Fvck! Fvck!! Fvck!!!" He cursed after letting himself out of the camouflage he had created with his black magic.

His vehicle was already messed up badly so there was no need taking it back with him. He smelled of blood.

He had transported himself to an underground walkway, which was close to the train station.

He scanned through the underground walkway where he had appeared in, he kept on searching everywhere there if he could see any trail to where she was. It was crowded as people were walking to and fro.

"Dawn where are you??" He winced as he punched the wall hard till he sustained injuries on. his right hand.

He was a transcendent after all and his right hand had healed just immediately.

Ding…

Ding…

Ding…

His mobile phone rang abruptly. He had some bruises on his forehead just right below his hair. He was completely exhausted as he crashed down on a vacant chair.

His phone rang again abruptly. He brought out his phone to see who the caller was, his phone ID showed 'Mr. Red.'

Mr. Red was one of the most loyal friend to Vladimir and after a war with werewolves years ago, Mr. Red had volunteered to be in charge of the regional secret house here in Los Angeles.

His name was due to his ruggedness, he was brutal and he was an elder as well who was naturally gifted with magic. He was a hybrid, a vampire-witch hybrid. But he had taken right after his father's position after his death. He always leaves trails of blood whenever he goes to hunt down werewolves.

"Not now Mr. Red!!" Orpheus cursed as he rubbed his hair.

He accepts the call finally as Mr. Red wouldn't quit calling.

"Your father is worried!!" He said with so much ease, yet it was deep and hoarse.

"Everything is fine here. Dawn just went to bed just now!!" He lied.

Vladimir would definitely die if anything happens to Dawn. Dawn had the jade, the most valuable gift he had gifted his late wife. And before she died she had given the jade to Dawn.

Dawn chuckled as she held the jade so tightly, she was just five months old. She knew nothing, but then she had to accept fate losing a mother at such tender age.

"He is worried about Dawn and wouldn't stop checking in to know if everything is finally at ease." He sneered.

"I'll be in the secret house tomorrow with Dawn if he wants to hear her voice." He mumbled trying as hard as he could to hide his pain.

Mr. Red chuckles from the other end. "How do you intend doing so when you've lost her??" He scoffed.

He could read through someone so fast not minding if it was through a call.

"I'm not a kid to be deceived Orpheus. You have to get Dawn before nightfall tomorrow because I think Vladimir, your father, would come visiting so he could see his precious daughter."

"You knew all along that I wasn't with Dawn!!" He cursed. "I need a new bugatti la voiture, it should be black as usual. The old one got damaged beyond repair." He snapped.

"I knew it got damaged beyond repair."

"I want you to track down Dawn."

"Happens that you're with her phone in your pocket!!" He chuckled softly.

"Fvck! Fvck it!!" He growled as he brought out her phone which was stained with blood. Out of anger he crashed the phone with his right hand as the screen got completely shattered.

He threw the phone in the recycle bin that was close to where he was seated.

"I need my bodyguards to be…"

Mr. Red had interrupted him, "About that, Vladimir already sent words that your personal guards would no longer be some bunch of weak humans but well trained vampires." He mumbled.

"He can do as he pleases." Orpheus leaves a deep breath as he stood up from where he was seated.

"You always seems to forget who I am. Do you know the people behind the attack??" He asked.

*****

He had returned to his residence. He was still sober as he couldn't track down where Dawn was. There was no trace at all.

"How's it possible for someone to break through??" He cursed as he walked passed his bodyguards who protected the compound from intruders.

His eyes were like a fiery inferno like hell was about to break loose. His scars had all healed, leaving no trace for suspicion.

His black suit was completely in a mess, torn and he folded the hands of his white inner shirt to his elbow axis which exposed his tattoos.

His veins on his hands were visible as he walked passed them. He could see the fear boldly written in their eyes.

He walked to the inner hall which had the personal elevator which led to his own luxurious sitting room, kitchen, bathrooms and rooms. The other elevator led to his big library where he taught Dawn some few magic tricks and real dark magic.

He had walked into Dawn's chamber which was like a completely different apartment from him. He walked slowly as he looked through all her pictures as tears gathered in his eyes.

[Lamp crashes]

He slowly walks through the small stairs that led to her dining room and then to her bedroom. He picks up a lamp holder as he moved slowly aiding himself with the wall.

"You must go to bed now Dawn. No more nightmares. Your brother is more than capable." The hoarse voice chuckled harmlessly. "Seems you don't know much about vampires even if you are one. Maybe I'll tell you a story about the strongest vampire when you wake up from your slumber." The voice was deep.

Orpheus was shocked. Who the fvck could that be?
