Carolina's POV:
"I need to get my bag and change out of this red dress," I said, but Karen summoned two security men to throw me out. "Hey, don't touch me!" I shouted as the two security men lifted me off the ground, and acted deaf as they took me outside the club. "Let me go! Let me go!" I kicked for them to let go of me, but they were deaf and carried me outside and threw me out. I was stunned, as I feared maybe I had brought bad luck to my best friend. Standing on my feet, I waited to get my handbag because it contained my phone and my clothes. I could not go back home with this revealing red dress. So I paced about at the front of the club, waiting for Lucy to close. "Hey! What are you still doing? Leave here!" the security man at the entrance yelled at me, and I told him, "I need my bag. I am not going anywhere without my bag." The entrance door of the clubhouse opened, and two men walked out. However, I was stunned because he was the man that I had been chatting with earlier. "Hey, are you all right?" The man asked, walking up to meet me, and I lowered my head in embarrassment. I was so uncomfortable in the revealing red dress that I was wearing, and I saw the tall man taking off his coat. He draped it over me. "Sorry. You do not have to do this. Just help me ask them to return my bag to me," I said to the handsome stranger, even when I did not know who he was. He seemed like a rich man, even though I could feel the icy demeanor emanating from him. "Your bag? Where's it?" he asked, and I pointed at the entrance of the club. "In there." "Bright! Who is she?" I heard another man ask the man, as he walked up to meet us. Bright looked at me to his friend and replied, "I do not know her. I will see you later, Gabriel." "Come with me. Do you work here?" the man standing next to me asked, as he dismissed his friend. His gaze was pinning me intensely. "No. I wanted to, but I was thrown out," I replied, and his gaze narrowed. "By who? Come with me," he led me back into the club, and I was stunned and confused. "Sir, you do not have to worry. I do not want my friend to lose her job because of me," I told the man, but he had already clasped my left hand and led me back into the club. Surprisingly, the security men didn't stop the man or refuse to allow me to enter, and they overlooked the man. Who is he? Why is he trying to help me? I pondered as I followed him into the club. "Who threw you out?" The man asked, even as the music was loud. I could hear him. However, I saw Karen and pointed at him immediately. "He's the boss. I only want to take my bag, and I cannot do what he says," I said, my gaze lowered. "Karen," the man called, and my eyes widened at the way he called the manager's name. The manager rushed to meet us and looked at me in shock. "Boss, what is the matter? Do you need anything?" Mr. Karen asked, looking from me to Bright worriedly. "Do you know this woman?" Bright asked, still holding my right hand firmly by my wrist. Karen looked at me as I looked at him too. "Yes, Boss. I was trying to help her, but she is chasing our clients away," he explained. "How did she refuse to help your client?" Bright asked, his voice stern, and I looked from him to Karen. "Sir, she was rude and didn't want to serve the male guest," Karen said, unable to explain the real deal. "Is that true, miss?" the man asked, now looking at me. I met his red eyes, which I hadn't seen from standing outside with him due to the darkness outside the clubhouse. I was surprised because the man's eyes were red, like he was angry or had previously been shedding tears. "Um, I cannot sleep with a stranger—that is why he sacked me. He said that I will have to sell my body to please the clients," I said, my arms wrapped around my chest. "Mm... it's not compulsory that you must do that. And is this why you dismissed her and threw her out? Where is her bag?" Bright asked, and Karen looked at me. "I do not know, Boss. Where is your bag, miss?" Karen queried me. I looked at Lucy, who was looking at me in surprise. "On the second floor," I said, recalling that I had given my bag to Lucy to keep for me. "Go and get it, and I will wait for you," Bright said, and I looked surprised. Wait for me? Why should he wait? Anyway, I went back to find Lucy, and she went up to the second floor and brought my bag. Once I got my bag, I knew that I didn't have the time to change my clothes, and I apologized to Lucy. "I am sorry, Lucy." "It's fine, Caro, but how did you meet the boss?" "The boss? Who is he?" I asked her, but seeing the man was looking at me. My cheeks unknowingly flushed, and I smiled at him before looking back at Lucy. "I need to hurry back and return his coat," I said, and she nodded. "You can go to my house. Here's the spare key," Lucy said, as she gave her key to me, but I pushed it back to her. "You hold it. I will wait until you close from work," I told Lucy, knowing that she closes late. "It's two keys, Caro. Take it. I might not be coming back on time, and I have a client to meet with," she said, and I looked at her face, wondering if this was worth it. "You have to go and do not keep the boss waiting. Later, you will tell me where you met him," Lucy said while she quickly walked away before I could explain. I sighed and looked back at the man, who was still waiting for me. I walked over to meet him and pulled his coat off to return it to him. "Here's your coat, sir. Thanks for your help," I told him, wanting to leave, and he held my hand back and asked me, "Wait, what's your name?"**CAROLINA'S POV**"Sister, do you see that black Jeep that is parked outside our house? Wow!" My younger sister, Violet, asked as she walked into the kitchen to meet me and Mom. However, Mom and I remained silent, as we didn't gush over the Jeep Violet was admiring."Good evening, Mom. Sister, what's wrong? Didn't you all see the Jeep? It's parked outside," Violet said as she entered the kitchen through the back door."So what should we do if the Jeep is beautiful? The lady who parked that Jeep insulted Carolina today and accused your sister of sleeping with her man," Mom said, anger evident in her voice. Violet gasped, "What? Carolina, you slept with her boyfriend?"I looked away from Violet's face, as I didn't have an explanation to give her."Violet, Carolina explained to me that the man said he was single. I assume that is why that lady is here to live with Salma. You should keep your distance from Salma, since that arrogant woman is her friend," Mom cautioned my sister, as she w
**CAROLINA'S POV**"Carolina, open this door! Who is that young woman, and what is she talking about?" My mother pounded on the door of my room that I shared with my sisters. I know that I made a mistake to have slept with Bright for money, but how would I have known that his ex-fiancée would haunt me everywhere that I go now?Despite how big the city was, why must I run into her in the rented apartment that we live in? Knowing that I couldn't run away from my family, I pulled my room door open to face my mother. I was already exhausted, and I made up my mind to leave home.I cannot face my parents, looking at me with guilt. So I packed up my black box of clothes to leave the house. Mom looked at me in shock when she saw me holding onto my black box of clothes to leave the house."Carolina, where are you going to?" Mom asked, her voice lowering as she peered at me."Mom, I cannot stay here again. I know that I made a mistake, but I need time to think about it. I am sorry," I sobbed, a
Nini's POV:The car ride was silent, as only the sound of the engine and the vehicles that I drove past filled the air.Mirabel paced anxiously in her seat next to me as she feared for the unknown to not have happened to our father. As I arrived at the hospital, where my father was rushed too. I drove my car into the hospital grounds and parked it.Mirabel didn't wait for me to get out of my car. She unfastened her seatbelt, got out, and ran ahead to the hospital building, before entering the outpatient ward.Sighing, I unfastened my seatbelt and got out of the car, before locking my car door. Then I forced my legs to move and went into the hospital lobby to find my family. However, as I entered the lobby, my elder brother, Johnson, appeared before me. He delivered a powerful slap that landed on my left cheek and made me stagger two steps backward."Are you crazy, Nini! How dare you break up with Bright and went as far as calling his family and telling them that it was over between yo
Nini's POV:"If I had known, I wouldn't have broken up with Bright. I wouldn't have told him it was over," I said, crying against my best friend's embrace."Nini, if you continue crying like this, you will fall sick. Just calm down alright. And if you still love Bright, you can go and see him and plead with him," Salma encouraged me, but I knew Bright. Once he made up his mind, there was no going back."It's fine. I will be fine. Where can I sleep? I stopped by a boutique and shopped for some dresses since I won't be able to face my parents. The doctors warned me not to get stressed, so I do not lose my baby," I said, and Salma smiled with understanding."Come and stay in my room. Your parents will forgive you when they calm down. They obviously do not know how hurt you were. They were only concerned about Bright's money. Come on," Salma showed me to her room to sleep.I carried my handbag, as my luggage was still left in my car trunk."My luggage is in the car. Later, I will get it,"
Nini's POV:I still cannot believe that Bright hooked up with another woman barely 24 hours after I broke up with him.I had expected Bright to call me. To beg me not to leave him like always, but he brought another woman to his house and slept with her.Was he waiting for us to call off the engagement so that he could cheat? All my plans went down the drain as I waited in vain for Bright's call. When I had rushed to his house the following morning, as we used to live together before our breakup.I was stunned to see that pretty fair lady leaving his house."What? Who are you and what are you doing in my man's house?" I wanted to strangle that woman. What gave her the audacity to hook up with Bright?I dated Bright for five years. I had him wrapped around my finger, but he couldn't get me pregnant.Only one mistake. One night with his brother and I am already pregnant with Raymond's child.I wasn't expecting Bright to propose to me the previous Wednesday at his club. How do I tell him
Carolina's POV:"Are you serious? Like where did you see the man?" Lucy asked as I stopped and sipped my coconut juice, taking a look around the busy road. "Before I arrived here. He was stalking me and asking me on a date. He wants me to be his woman," I said, and Lucy's jaw dropped."And what did you tell him?""I'm not interested," I replied, taking another sip from the juice as I finished it."What?" Lucy was stunned."I still do not understand you, Carolina. Do you mean that man who offered to pay you 1.2 million to sleep with him met you and asked you out?" Lucy queried.Finishing my juice, I discarded the cup and turned to face Lucy."Yes. Let's go shopping. I have to purchase a new dress as I have an interview tomorrow," I said, while Lucy frowned.Lucy finished her own coconut juice and discarded the cup and straw, and she followed me to the boutique to do some shopping."Honestly, Caro. If you don't want the man, link me to him," my best friend said, as I browsed through th
