Chapter No 3 The Shift

He was standing outside for fifteen minutes. “Where are you? I am waiting outside,” he asked through a mind link.

“Hold on, Colin is still awake. I don’t want him to ask questions,” she mind-linked. She came outside after a while.

“Here, Let’s go,” she gave him the pairs of clothes and he grabbed them, surprised.

“So that’s why you did not want me to bring my clothes today?” He asked, smiling.

“Yeah, because I have bought you a gift,” she said while walking ahead. They were walking towards the woods when they saw a wolf, it was a huge white wolf.

“Tyler?” called out Jacob, aloud.

“What is he doing here this late?” Asked Althea.

“Axel?” Jacob called him aloud. Axel was Tyler’s wolf’s name.

He turns towards them and shifts back into his human form. He was not wearing anything. He walked towards them. Althea looked away. He had a muscular body, with six packs, and strong broad shoulders, due to shifting his body was sweaty. He walked slowly with stone expressions; his deep blue eyes were on Jacob. He was completely ignoring her, it has been years since they have talked, and he had stopped talking to her in his teens. He stopped a few steps away from her. She can sense his scent and the perfume.

“What happened, why are you here? Have not you gone to the party?” Jacob asked him.

“I am going to the party, I had a forced shift,” he said, he looked so exhausted.

“What happened, are you tense?” He asked him, concerned.

“No I am not tense,” he said while putting pressure on the word tense while looking at Althea with stone expressions.

“Here take these clothes, you might catch a cold,” Jacob said while giving him clothes. Althea gave him an angry sigh.

“What are you doing? It’s my gift for you,” she said through the mind link.

“He needs the clothes more, we will arrange it later,” he said through the mind-link. Tyler took the clothes and wore them, now she was able to look at him.

“What are you doing here at this time?” He asked, poker face but Jacob felt a strange tone of his.

“Nothing, I and Althea were going to a café, I brought clothes so that if I shift I have clothes to wear,” Jacob said smiling.

“Shifting with her? Did she know what shifting is? She never shifted in her life and she claims she talks to her wolf?” He said with a rude expression. She remained quiet; it was the first time in years he talked to her.

“Tyler, I have told you to stop being rude to my friend, please,” he said while raising his one hand.

“Friend?” He said while looking at her from up to down, she felt a bit awkward.

“If you are thinking to bully her Tyler, then don’t,” said Jacob with anger.

Tyler looked at him and smirked. He turned and was gone, lost in the darkness. Jacob looked at Althea, who was staring into the darkness.

“What he wants?” She said annoyed.

“Let it be go, let’s go, it’s full moon already,” he said in a rush and they went to the woods.

“Are you sure no one is around?” She asked.

“Yeah I am sure because Daddy is looking for pack members, if he saw anyone coming here, he would min-link us,” he said smiling.

“You ready?” He asked.

She took a deep breath and nodded. He shifted first, His wolf was white but it showed brown shades.

“Hello, Flint, nice to see you,” she said to his wolf smiling. Flint was Jacob’s wolf’s name. He growls slowly in return.

“Okay, my turn,” she said and shifted into her wolf. Her wolf was huge, nearly the size of the Alpha. Her wolf was Gray and powerful.

“Hello Lilly,” said Flint through the mind link. They both walked in the woods and ran towards the waterfall. Lilly dug her paw inside the soil to feel the mud beneath her. She wanted to shift freely and move freely but she was unable to do it as she was Canis Lupus.

“Sometimes I wonder, Flint, why can’t I show myself to them? They are scared of my powers but I don’t want to hurt anyone,” she said sadly.

“Don’t worry Lilly, one day you will shift freely,” he said.

“I don’t know when, as I can’t even howl,” she said. Flint could feel her pain.

“Hey don’t be sad, we have been friends since we were kids, Are not we? But you communicated with your human a year earlier before me,” Flint said, trying to cheer her up.

“Yeah, I did, maybe it’s okay to be different,” she said and they both stared at the moon. The cold breeze was touching their fur.

“Daddy, I am ready to go to college for royals,” she said while crossing her arms.

“You sure honey? If you don’t want to, you should not go,” said Jack.

“No, I am fine and Jacob is going too so I will manage those bullies,” she said smiling. He smiled in return.

“My brave pup,” he said.

“Daddy look, what Viviana has brought for me,” said Collin; he was holding a big stuffed toy.

“Wow it’s a beautiful muffin,” he said while smiling.

“Uncle Jack, Collin said he will take me to woods near the waterfall this Sunday,” she said innocently.

“Going to a waterfall would be dangerous for you both, you can’t go there alone,” said Jack softly.

“But Daddy, I want a picnic with Vivi,” he said sadly.

Althea smiled “I will take you both,” she said happily.

“That would be good, but you better keep an eye on them, anything suspicious just mind-link me, you know your mother and I had saved you from the rogue there, it’s dangerous there,” he said while folding his arms.

“I know Daddy don’t worry, that would be the best day for us three,” she said happily.

“Three? Aren’t Jacob coming with you?” he asked.

“Naa Daddy, he is gone to his grandma, he said he has to grab something,” she said smiling.

“Jacob and Althea are mates. Daddy?” Said Collin mischievously.

Althea turned bright red “No, it’s not like that we are just friends,” she said blushing.

“And hey, why are you both talking like you are 18?” She said while crossing her arms with fake angry expressions.

“Because we are mates,” he said confidently. Jack laughed very hard.

“My dear son it does not work like that,” he said while patting over his shoulder.

“But Daddy, we are best friends,” he said innocently.

“It does not matter, let me explain to you,” he said while sitting on a nearby sofa.

“When we all are about to be born moon goddess makes two wolves from the same light illuminated through the moon and puts them in two human bodies, when they get older like 18 they find their other wolf that was made up of the same light in another human and they live together forever as they were bonded to live together by the moon goddess,” he said softly.

“So we both are going to find out when we are 18 that we are mates?” Asked Collin and Jack nodded.

“Oh moon Goddess from the bottom of my heart I want Vivi to be my mate,” he said while looking up. Jack laughed while Althea smiled and Viviana was blushing.

“I think my mom’s calling me, I am going,” Viviana said and ran out of the house.

“Hey Vivi,” called out to Collin.

It was the middle of the night when she felt her heart beating so fast, her heart was racing fast and she was sweating, she got up out of her bed.

“No Lilly, we can’t shift please hold on, they will know who we are Lilly calm down,” she was calming her wolf.

When she felt the urge to go outside. It was a full moon.

“Okay, I will go outside, but you will not force me to shift,” she said to her wolf.

She grabbed her jacket to cover herself up and went out of the house through her room window as she did not want her parents to know. She walked slowly towards the woods. The moon was bright and youthful. She sat beside the tree and looked up.

“Oh moon goddess, why did you make me different? Why did you make my wolf so freaking different that I cannot shift freely” she said in a whisper. She was staring at the moon when she heard rustling from the bushes.

She got up and called out, “Who is it?” she asked angrily. It was dark behind the bushes.

“I ask who it is?” she asked angrily. She narrowed her eyes to look in the dark. Thanks to her Canis lupus eyes, she could see through the darkness better than any werewolf.

A very huge wolf came out of it, she never saw this wolf in the pack, because none of them were black, but this wolf was black.

She retreated a few steps, “Oh no, if he hurts me my wolf will shift,” she thought.

The wolf was growling and taking steps toward her. It was a rogue wolf.

“Stay away rogue,” she said angrily but she was afraid from inside.

“Canis Lupus? I was unable to kill you that day, my pack member was killed by white wolves but today I have finally found you, and I will kill you,” The wolf said, somehow she was able to understand him, the wolf does not understand if one is in human form and the other is in wolf form.

“He knows me, I am dead today,” she thought. She took a step backward when a stone came in her way, she fell on the ground hard, and she felt pain in her ribs.

The wolf walked closer to her to kill her. She closed her eyes. But nothing happened when she opened them, she saw a huge white wolf that was fighting with the black rogue. From the size of the wolf, she can tell it’s an Alpha and then she remembers from the glimpse of it that she saw it somewhere.

“Tyler,” she whispered.

Axel (Tyler’s wolf) was biting on the black wolf’s neck. It was a brutal fight. He was dominant on the black wolf. Tyler was a direct descendant of the moon goddess and he was an Alpha making him stronger than other wolves.

After the brutal fight, Tyler finally defeated the rogue, killing him. He was a bit injured. He shifted into his human form. His shoulder was bleeding. She got up on her feet. He walked slowly towards her, his expressions were too dangerous, she felt her legs go numb and she stood there, frozen.

There was a tree behind her. His eyes were digging into her eyes. He stood so near to her that she felt his heat. He was naked, and his body was sweaty, but his expressions were like he was going to eat her alive.

“What on the earth were you doing here in the middle of the night?” his voice huskier due to anger. She felt her heart drop. He placed one hand on the tree to eliminate all the chances of her escape. He places his fingers under her chin and lifts her face.

“That rogue could eat you up alive easily and you are just a mare human-wolf who cannot shift,” he said harshly.

She looked inside his eyes, they were poker, and she was unable to tell what he was thinking. She was so numb that she was unable to leave. Her body was not on her side, it was all in his control. Just then she glances at his shoulder which was bleeding.

“Your shoulder is bleeding,” she said while trying to touch his shoulder, but he grabbed her hand in the middle.

“Don’t” he said angrily and turned.

“A true werewolf Alpha does not take debt,” she said while folding her arms around her chest.

He turned and faced her again, “it’s your debt to me that you saved my life. Do you want to let it go like this?” she said strongly, she was playing over his ego so that she can treat his injury.

He walked towards her “Come with me,” she said.

“Did she order me?” he thought angrily.

He walked slowly with her; she took him near the waterfall.

“Just sit here, I will be back after a while,” she said and left into the woods.

After a few minutes, she came with a few clothes.

“Where did you get these from?” he asked curiously.

“Jacob and I usually come here and he shifts sometimes so we keep a few clothes here,” she said while giving him warm clothes.

He put on the jeans, but he was unable to wear a T-shirt as his shoulder was injured. Blood was dripping down from his abs. His visible six-packs were so perfect.

“Wait don’t wear it yet,” he looked at her with strange expressions, narrowing his eyes, she blushed when she thought what he was thinking.

“I mean let me treat you,” she said while hiding her embarrassment.

She took out a small towel from the clothes she brought and dipped it in the water flowing nearby. She placed it over his injured shoulder, he felt a bit of pain but after a while, the bleeding stopped. For more than fifteen minutes, there was an awkward silence. After a while, he got up and turned to leave. He stopped a few steps away, turned his head a bit.

“If you don’t want to become meat to some rogue, go home,” he said.

“Thank you, Tyler,” she said but he did not respond and left. She was thinking about what had happened that night and then she went back home.
