Liam POVThe rollercoaster on the night of the battle was intense. Exilerating that we won against Malik. Devastation when we lost Lewana and Conrad to the Shadows. Then the hours of fear we had to survive without them before the moon had a chance to bring them back. Every guardian wanted to help and protect them, so we divided into two teams. Sirens and Faes during the day. Phoenix's and Wolves at night. We moved them to the Moon Garden that Conrad has constructed. We figured this would protect them the most. We placed them on a bed we brought outside and monitored them closely. As I entered from the real world at dawn, and it is now night, I hope this corresponds to the real world and that we only have to survive the day before the moon rises. The rain is hammering down hard, and the wind is ice cold with such force it feels like it's cutting through my skin. I turn to go back inside, but it's now an empty doorway in the midst of the storm. I look down at the terrified child clutching my leg, and instincts take over. I pick her up and cradle her to my chest to keep her as shielded as possible. I call out. "Jace, lead us somewhere with some shelter. I protect her". "What if Serena is out here?".
