Chapter 9

Liam POV

I sprint down the hall, bursting through the study doors. Conrad is standing at his office window, staring at the moon, lost in thought again, when he turns to look at me in surprise.

“Michelle just texted me. Eve is home safe”.

“Oh, thank the moon Goddess”.

You can literally see the wave of relief that passes over him. He then collapses into the chair and looks at the ceiling with the relief turning to sadness.

“She won’t come here, will she? Otherwise you would have said”.

“Eve has agreed”.

A massive smile spreads across his face. He’s so excited you can practically see Jace’s tail wagging like a puppy through his eyes.

“She’s giving us a chance”.

“Seems like it”.

This look of happiness quickly changes to one of panic when the realisation of what we have agreed to sets in. He instantly goes into micromanager mode.

    Conrad POV As soon as the words left the medic's mouth, my mind kicked in, and I knew what I had to do. I mind linked Liam first. "Liam. It's confirmed. Luna Queen is in labour.     Lewana POV Yesterday really took it out of me. A wedding, a coronation, and a possession to top it off is making every inch of my body ache. The sun has barely breached the top of the trees, and I get out of bed, annoyed because I'm hungry and uncomfortable.     Conrad POV I watch as Lewana seems to fade from the event. At first, I thought she was just tired, but when she didn't respond to me, I knew something was wrong.     Lewana POV As soon as the wedding ceremony is over, we all head into the barn for the reception. Most of the people here are humans, as the pack will participate in the following coronation ceremony more. We do all the usual stuff I have seen before. Have a meal, cut the cake, and dance.
