"I had a dream." Gwendolyn began.

She and Cae sat beside the large oak tree with the thick trunks in the middle of the pack.

Cae listened as she recounted the dream, and when she was done, she let out a heavy sigh.

"I suspected something like this would happen." She murmured. "Remember when I told you your past wasn't as it seemed?"

"Yes. That's why I came to you." Gwendolyn nodded. "What exactly did you mean by that?"

"I don't know how to explain it, child." Cae said. "It would take a powerful witch to look into your past. I'm just a healer. I only get snatches of memories."

"Can you try telling me exactly what you saw?" Gwendolyn asked. "You must have seen something that made you know I was different."

"Well," Cae began. "When I touched you, I saw a woman in a cave. She wasn't alone. She was with a man and a little girl."

"Go on." Gwendolyn urged her. "Take your time."
