Julian buried Lilithia's body deep inside the woods, where he was sure no one would ever find it.

He dug a shallow grave, kicked her body inside along with her severed head, and covered it up. Then he turned and walked away without a backward glance.

There was no remorse in his eyes. He didn't regret killing her, even though she was his mate, even when he felt an excruciating pain in his heart, a pain that meant the bond between them had been severed.
