Chapter 6

Four years later.

Roselyn

“We have to do this for our pack. Rabid Shadow pack is the only pack close to ours, we would have easy access to it and we can stop our pack from dying from thirst.” Dad explained in the council meeting.

We were having a meeting concerning the issue of our pack lacking water, our pack water source was poisoned, and we have lost a lot of pack members because of it and we are trying not to lose more members. Although it was hard to break into our pack because of our high security, everyone wondered who must have done this but I was for a fact sure that an outsider couldn’t have done this. Outsiders cannot come into our pack without our knowledge, there’s probably an inside man working in the pack and we would find the person.

They had suggested coming to an alignment with Rabid shadow pack for water's sake, dad had first declined it because he knows so well that I didn’t want to have anything to do with that pack, entangling myself with Jackson was the last thing I wanted to do but I had no other choice, my pack needed this.

“What do you think, Roselyn?” Councilman Finn asked, I raised my head and I noticed that they all had their eyes on me, they were waiting for what I had to say.

I sighed inwardly.

“For the sake of Dark Hades Pack, let’s make an alignment with Alpha Jackson’s pack, they have recently contacted us because they wanted us to help with their security, this would be the best time to form an alignment they will not hesitate,” I replied without batting an eyelash.

“Yes, Roselyn, that's a wonderful idea, we will send our proposal to them,” Dad replied and I nodded.

I would do anything to save my pack members.

It had been four years since my divorce from Jackson. I hated thinking about all that I had experienced with his Luna but I could never forget it even when I was tired because the only good memories I had of my life in his pack were what made me happy.

I had given birth to twin boys staying with my real parents. Never for once did my boys feel neglected or did I feel like I was not a part of their pack.

I was welcomed the day I arrived and up until this extent I have never felt like I was not wanted.

My father's pack, Dark Hade's pack, is the strongest werewolf pack in all of the state but this was a major problem we had to tackle.

The meeting was immediately over after Father had volunteered to go there, he knew I would never want to go to Jackson’s pack. I wouldn’t want to do anything there.

I walked out of the council meeting room and immediately bumped into Hayden. His tiny hand gripped my legs tight.

“Mummy mummy.” Jayden came running too, I looked up and noticed their nanny running after them. My mind immediately went clear and a smile grew on my face, they made me happy

“Talia, I’ll handle them.” I excused their nanny, she gave a slight bow before walking out.

I squatted to their height.

“Who do we have here? Hayden, Jayden? Are you boys messing around with Talia again?” I pulled their cheeks softly.

“No mummy. Talia is so old, she doesn’t want us playing so we ran away.”

“Talia doesn’t want you boys running around, she doesn’t want you boys getting tired or tripping over because she loves you, boys, so don’t call Talia old anymore, she’s a very sweet nanny,” I explained to them. I always try to make my boys act the right way, I do not want them being mean to anyone so they don’t end up hurting people, I do not want them to be anything like their father.”

“Okay, mummy.” I picked Jayden up first before going ahead to pick up Hayden my boys were growing and I was happy to see it but I was always anxious, I didn’t want to be a bad parent to them, and I didn’t want to teach them the wrong thing or make it seem like my babies are spoilt because their grandfather is their Alpha of their pack and their mother is a Zillionaire.

It was funny how I was the one that went through hell for nine good months only for my kids to come out looking like Jackson, the nerve.

They both had bubbly brown eyes that matched their skin tone, and soft, curly, brown hair like Jackson’s they looked so adorable like children models.

I took both boys to the dining room, it was time for their dinner, and I needed to put them to sleep before I went ahead to finish other things I had to do and then call it a day.

Dinner was done and with the help of Talia, they were ready for bed.

I sat bedside with Jayden and Hayden with a storybook in my hand. I was trying to tell them a story so I could put them to bed when Jayden asked.

“Mummy, do we have a daddy?” Jayden suddenly asked and I froze, puzzled by his

question. My toddlers had never wanted to know about their father before.

“Is grandpa our father?” Jayden asked again. I felt terrible, I was letting my boys grow up without a father, just like me.

“Jayden, mummy doesn’t want to talk about it.” Hayden quickly replied and I smiled.

“I will tell you about it tomorrow.” I lied, I hated lying to them, and I should lead by example.

I finally put them to sleep and then walked out of their room. Immediately I bumped into my mom on the way to my room.

“Hey, mom.” I smiled at her and she gave me back a smile, although I sensed that she was worried.

“Mom, is everyone alright?” I asked and she nodded.

“Your dad just left for North America,” she replied, a bit tensed.

“Why?”

“His attention was needed urgently, he said he’ll talk to you about it later but he wants you to know that you’d be going to Rabid Shadow packs tomorrow.” The moment Mom said this it was like my world came crumbling.

“Mom this is a joke right?”
