Chapter 5

Roselyn.

I hadn’t even gotten to know their names and she’s telling me that I am her daughter?

Her husband showed up in the room after he heard her call out to him and he stood there looking at his anxious wife, she slowly pulled my hand out, she helped me pull my sleeve up a bit and showed the birth mark on my arm to him.

His eye enlarged on seeing the mark. He had the same expression she had when she saw it and when I told her how I got the mark.

“How did you get the mark?” He asked,the lady noticed my hesitation to speak, I was confused so she went ahead to explain.

“She said it’s a birthmark. Darren that’s not the only thing, look at this here? The crystal.” As she said this, I could sense some kind of pain in her voice.

“The one we had given to Roselyn?” His hand went to his neck as he asked, he pulled out a pendant that looked like mine. I gawked at both of them, I was finally understanding them.

“Am I your daughter?” My words came broken and pain filled.

“Yes. There are only two of this pendant, it was crafted for me and my wife and we gave it to our only daughter.” He replied.

“If I am your daughter then why did you let me suffer? Why did you let me go, why didn’t you look for me, I longed for my parents, I wanted to be loved just once in my life but I got nothing. Where were you two when I needed you?” I was crying badly, I raised my voice and my blood boiled in anger, maybe if I had a family, Jackson wouldn’t have thrown me out of his life.

“We had a reason, dear.” The lady held my hand but I pulled my hand away from her.

“Don’t touch me, I don’t want you holding me, I don’t know you. There’s no difference with you guys and the other wolves, you still threw me away when you realized I was a defective wolf right?” I yelled at her.

“No, no. I am Hannah, I am your mother and we didn’t throw you away.” She cried, I cried.

“Who told you that you're a defective wolf, you're an Alpha, can you not smell your own blood?” Darren asked.

“I can smell your blood, my wolf knows who you are. I can detect that you are my daughter, if you can give us the chance to explain to you how all of this happened then you would understand.”

“Please dear, just listen to us. Please.” Her voice was very low and tear’s dropped at the corner of her eyes.

I stayed calm, I wanted to know why they threw me away.

Once they noticed that I was calm, they began to explain. “We did not throw you away dear, we would never do that, our pack was attacked by rouges, we handed you to our beta but before handing you to the beta, we gave you this crystal. After the attack, we discovered our Beta had died protecting you but we couldn’t find you anywhere. We thought you had died with him, "he explained and I bit my lips.

“We love you so much and we would never want to stay away from you. Trust me we are happy to have found you princess.” Hannah touched me on my cheeks, I was crying so hard because I knew I had the chance to be happy. I had the chance to live my life as a high ranked werewolf and not get bullied because I was an orphan who hadn’t unlocked her wolf.

I used my hand to cover my face, the tears wouldn’t stop coming, I could feel the redness on my face, I probably looked like a messed up tomato crying.

Hannah hugged me, I hesitated but I did hug her back.

We were all having a quiet and emotional moment, when a knock was placed on the door, the doctor walked into the room after a while, Hannah held me close to her while Darren went back to sit on the sofa on the chair.

“I'm sorry for disturbing you, we got your test result already.” He had a wide grin on his face.

“I had earlier suspected but I wanted to be sure, Miss?” He said.

“Roselyn.” I replied, I noticed he hadn’t taken my name earlier on.

“Miss Roselyn, congratulations you're three weeks pregnant.” As he said it, my heart skipped a bit.

“You're joking right?” I asked and he nodded negatively.

“You are pregnant and your babies are healthy.” He handed me the documents and gave me a wide smile, as he made to walk out Darren stopped him.

“We want a DNA test done on the both of us.” He pointed at me and the doctor looked a bit perplexed but he did it anyway, he took our samples before leaving the room.

This was all I ever prayed for, to be a high ranked werewolf and have a child for my mate, how did all of this happen when he let me go, how did I lose and still win at the end.

“He let me go because I was barren, look at me now, pregnant for him, would my children grow without a father? I cried.

“They would grow up with a strong mother by their side, they would grow up with their grandparents.” I sighed.

This was the best, like Hannah had told me, Jackson didn’t deserve to be with me, he didn’t deserve my love.

I knew all of this but it was hurting me too much.

It was funny how my life had changed in less than 24 hours, I was now a divorced pregnant Alpha.

My head racked my pains.
