She tried to catch her breath after she realized Lorenzo had left, she quickly got up from the bed and rushed towards the wardrobe and wore a simple white t-shirt and short blue jean.
Walking over to the large mirror that reeked of royalty she checked the crook of her neck and discovered a mark that looked almost like a crescent moon. She placed her hands over her lips, she was expecting bite marks not a tattoo. "Now's not the time to think about this, I need to escape," She said to herself taking in deep breaths. She knew Lorenzo would return and maybe this time, he would actually finish what he started. Her mind laced with fear as she ran to the windows staring at the green scenery of Lorenzo's castle grounds. In the distance, she could make out the imposing black gates and the hulking figures stationed there, undoubtedly his men. Wait a minute..... Why did this place look so familiar?, she strained her thoughts until it dawned on her, this was no ordinary mansion, this was the Giovanni's Mob. She recognised this place as she usually saw it on TV and newspapers. It was not only the most dangerous criminal organisation in the country but the most powerful as well, holding power in official places and from the rumours she heard the name of the leader although never been publicly seen, was... "Lorenzo, Lorenzo Giovanni!" Her eyes widened in shock, that pycho was the leader of the most infamous mafia mob in the country. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine him to be someone in his mid to late twenties, there wasn't a soul that didn't know and fear Mr Lorenzo, the tales of his cruelty and criminal acts was a spine-chiller in town. There had been several investigations into his organisations as well as Lorenzo himself, Kidnapping, trafficking, murder, including every evil deed known to man but he had never been convicted, not even once. It had earned him the title 'The untouchable Don' among the folks in town. It made her wonder how her father had gotten into trouble with the mob in the first place, had he borrowed money from Lorenzo and used it all on gambling?, she knew how the mob punished Debtors, Debtors?, no she shook off the ridiculous thought remembering Lorenzo had referred to her father as a traitor. She felt as though the world was spinning trying to piece together the truth, what was her father's connection with the Giovanni Mob, why did Lorenzo personally wanted her father dead? why had Lorenzo spared her life? and most importantly, how the hell did he take a stab to the eye without a single scratch? She was beginning to believe the rumours in town about Lorenzo being the spawn of the devil. It would explain how he was so cold and evil to murder Liam in cold blood, liam was innocent and had nothing to do with it. She wiped a single tear and steeled her heart not to sob, right now she needed to escape. There was no safety in the Lion's Den. "Shit!" Her lips twisted into a grim line realising an escape through the front gate was out of the question, it was the most secured part of Lorenzo's Mansion. Below the castle grounds she saw men and servants tending to the sprawling gardens, she clicked her tongue, realizing how little she actually knew about this place as her mind raced, searching for an escape route. She couldn't spend the night here, not after realising who Lorenzo truly was, perhaps his intentions were to turn her into one of his whores, or even worse sell her off as a slave to the most dangerous and powerful men. She needed to leave, desperately. The memory of his touch, his green eyes boring into her, was a bitter pill to swallow as despite the hate and fear she had for him, there was something she felt for a moment, a magnetic pull. "Snap out of it," she scolded herself aloud, pacing the room, Lorenzo was a fucking narcissist, murderer and a cruel, egotistical maniac. "DAMN IT!" She roared, flipping the bed in a frenzy. Then, a sharp knock at the door startled her, before she could respond the large doors swung open. She recognised him as the psychopathic man from last night, Kai. "Sleeping beauty is awake," He said stepping into the room, "Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have a human as my Luna," "Luna?," She winced her brows confused by his words, he did seem a little drunk. He ignored her words and took a dramatic bow, "This heartthrob goes by the name Kai Emiliano," "Mr Emiliano..." "Kai," He corrected, "Please call me Kai," "I need to get out here, I'm afraid Mr Lorenzo might kill me," She pleaded, it was a long shot hoping for salvation from this pycho, but desperation fueled her drive at this point. Again he ignored her pleas, "Please follow me, you must be starving," "Please I need your help..." As if on que her stomach rumbled making her cheeks flush in embarrassment. She couldn't deny she was hungry, she hadn't eaten anything and the events of yesterday had left her exhausted. "Follow me," Kai insisted, turning his back Cassie noticed a gun tucked at his back. She hadn't recieved any formal practice on gun use, but she couldn't let this opportunity slide. With quick movement Cassie snatched the gun and pointed it at Kai, her breath plumed in the cold air. Her hands, usually so steady holding a book trembled around the cold unfamiliar weight of the pistol. "Don't come any closer," she stammered, the words catching in her throat "Well look what we have here, a little fucking bird with big feathers." He took another step, his shadow engulfing hers. "You really think you know how to use that thing?" She'd never even held a real gun before today. It felt impossibly heavy clumsy, and utterly terrifying. "I… I will," she whispered, forcing a conviction she didn't feel into her voice She remembered the safety catch, fumbling for it with a shaky thumb. It clicked with a sound that seemed deafening Kai chuckled and crossed his arms,"Go on then, little bird. Pull the trigger." He spread his hands, a gesture of mock surrender that only intensified her panic "Let's see what you've got." "I said, don't come any closer!" she repeated, her voice rising to a near shriek. The gun wavered in her grip and in a blur the world seemed to spin around her as she found herself facing the ceiling with Kai on top. "It is dangerous for children to play with dangerous weapons Luna," He smirked mischievously while Cassie tried to process what the hell had happened, one moment she was standing with a gun to his face and the next, she's on the ground, it was a super human speed. Kai slowly got to his feet and placed the gun back to its holster around his waist "We should get going,"With a sudden burst of speed, Lana rushed over to Leonardo, dropping to her knees and gently taking his hands in her own. Her voice was soft and full of urgency. "Please," she begged, her eyes locked on his. "If you're not going to fight, then come with us. We have to escape." Leonardo looked into her eyes. He couldn't deny it Lana was stunning. Her beauty wasn't the kind that was loud or flashy it was simple and elegant reminding him of Cassie's. Someone as innocent as her shouldn't be in the castle when the vampires arrive. He could already hear the crashing sounds of the castle gates giving way, the screams of vampires and werewolves clashing outside. "Leo!" she called out again, her voice pleading. He let out a tired sigh. "Just go, please," he said, dropping his gaze from hers. "There's nothing left for me to live for." Lana's face fell into a frown, and her words caught his attention. "There's plenty to live for," she said firmly. What could she possibly mean? He though
"It has been a month since I last saw Cassie Michaelson. She was the one who stole my heart the first moment I saw her. I still remember it clearly. She and her father saved me from some boys who always picked on me because I was an omega, the lowest of the low. I was born into the family of the most powerful wolves, and they treated me like dirt. Life in the Giovanni family was a nightmare. Before my father confessed his past mistakes and how he secretly loved and wanted me to have a life away from his, he was just as hard on me as he was on my brother, Lorenzo. Sometimes, I wanted to end it all. I wanted to kill myself just to stop the pain. My own family bullied me and treated me like I was trash and I felt like I didn't belong anywhere. But even during those dark times, the only thing that kept me going was the hope of seeing Cassie again. She was the girl who had captured my heart. After my father died, I looked for her everywhere, but I couldn't find her. Still, I never gave
"Lorenzo!" Cassie's scream echoed through the forest as she ran to him, her heart pounding. He had collapsed to his knees, clutching his chest, a pained grimace on his face. Just as she reached him, two figures stepped out of the deep shadows, two female vampires, cloaked in dark hoods putting their guns aside. "Get the girl," the taller one commanded. The other vampire began to stalk toward Cassie, her eyes fixed on her. Ignoring the approaching danger for a moment, Cassie knelt beside Lorenzo, frantically checking for a pulse. A wave of relief washed over her when she felt a faint but steady beat. She saw his wounds begin to slowly close, the cuts and gashes knitting back together. It was a sight she had seen before. Lorenzo had an uncanny ability to survive attacks that would kill any normal person, or even another wolf. A bullet to the heart, a blow to the head, stab to the eye, nothing seemed to be able to kill him. It made her wonder if he was something more than just a w
In a loud voice that echoed through the area, Lorenzo yelled furiously, "Cassie! Cassie, stop! Don't you dare walk away from me!" Cassie immediately stopped walking and turned to face the man. A look of anger was on her face as she said, "Or what? Are you going to keep me locked up in this cabin, just like you did in the castle?" Cassie's words seemed to calm the raging wolf down. He took a deep breath, realizing he had lost his temper too quickly. He knew he needed to control his anger, just like he needed to work on so many other things. "I'm sorry, my love," he said. He walked closer to her and gently tipped her chin up so she would look at him. "I'm sorry for speaking to you that way." Cassie's anger faded, and she felt embarrassed for losing her temper and saying those hurtful things to him. She had promised herself to move on, and she knew there was no reason to say those things to Lorenzo. "I'm sorry too," she said, "I shouldn't have said those words. I didn't mean it
Cassie stomped out of the cabin, her frustration bubbling over. She was on the hunt for Lorenzo, who had disappeared in a flash. She searched everywhere, behind the trees, next to the big rocks but he was nowhere to be found. It didn't take her long to figure out his sneaky trick. He had turned into his wolf form and ran off into the dense forest. With a heavy sigh, Cassie knew what she had to do. She wasn't happy about it. The last time she chased him, he had given her the scare of a lifetime. He'd popped up out of nowhere, right behind her, in his massive wolf form, and her heart had leaped into her throat. Muttering under her breath, she started running, pushing herself deeper and deeper into the quiet woods. "Lorenzo!" she yelled, her voice echoing between the trees. But there was no answer. She stopped for a moment, hands on her hips. "Come on, Lorenzo! Stop being such a drama queen and answer me!" she grumbled. Just as she finished her sentence, she felt a light tap on h
"Silvia? What the hell are you doing here?""Checking up on my favourite cousin." She said and Lorenzo rolled his eyes. Cassie's eyes widened in shock at Lorenzo's words. Silvia was here?, she quickly got to her feet wobbling a bit still overwhelmed by Lorenzo's divine sex. She put on her undies and a large t-shirt. Silvia stood in the doorway, her new, very short haircut framing her pale face. She was dressed all in black, a long, dark coat over a simple black dress. "Am I interrupting something?" she asked, her voice calm. Lorenzo looked at her with an annoyed expression. "Yes, you are," he said flatly. He wasn't even looking at her; his eyes were on Cassie. "Now, can you please go away? We were having a moment. A little more rest and we'd be getting back to it." Cassie's cheeks turned bright red. She thought, Gosh, couldn't he be less rude and shameless for just one day? She quickly walked over to the door to greet Silvia. When she saw her, a big smile spread across her fa
