Chapter 50 - The time capsule

Nicolai dragged the box out of the muddy water into the shore and gently wiped away the sandy residue. There was a huge star-like shape and squiggly lines drawn on with a black marker. “she did it… it’s here… I can’t believe it was here…” he gently caressed the spell.

“What is this Nico?” Raven curiously peered at it.

“Weapons…” Nico squatted down and hurriedly opened the latch of the metal box. A small hissing sound was heard and the drawing on top of the box disappeared.

“Weapons? From inside the river? Who tosses it away? “

“Raven this was my house. I have a lot of secrets buried underground. Don’t be surprised,” he mumbled,

“If it was in your time, won’t the weapons be destroyed…”

Nicolai ignored his curious banter. Inside of the box was slightly damp but the water had not permeated in. the contents were wrapped in a small white cloth which had turned a shade of beige.

“How is it still like this? Linens disintegrate in years… it’s been thousands of years..”
