“Alpha what is wrong ?’ My beta Cassius questions me as he stepped inside the room my eyes flickering with unease as I sat down on the cushion.
“I just ascended the throne and the elders are impatient for a Luna to be in the pack” I blurted out with concern coloring my tone .
“Alpha you still don't have a partner it's normal for the elders to be anxious “ he said his words cracking like whip filling the entire room.
“ But I just became the leader they should have given me a moment of peace before bringing up this subject” I snapped clenching my jaw in anger.
“ Alpha this issue is also a major concern but you have to take action on this” Cassius replied his gaze meeting mine.
“ But I always wanted to have a Luna but I haven't just met my destined one yet “ I remarked in my deep baritone voice cutting through the room.
Cassius scratched his head for moment letting out a deep sigh his eyes darting around the room like he was searching for something.
“Why don't you visit the major alpha tribes and have a look maybe lady luck will step in and you will find your partner “ Cassius said his voice calm as those words escaped from his lips.
“ But we have been on this matter for a long time without no glimmer of hope “ I say rolling my eyes at him.
“ But we can't just leave the Luna seat vacant or otherwise it would be a bigger war with the elders “ he whispered.
“Fine arrange it” I replied my tone softening.
“ Yes Alpha” Cassius lowered his head with a smile plastered all over his face as he strode out to prepare for our trip shutting the door behind him.
*****************************************************
“Alpha Theodore it's an honour for you to be in our pack and Beta Cassius in our blue lake tribe “ Alpha's Lucas the new leader of the pack came out to receive us warmly as we inspected the pack.
“ No need for pleasantries” I replied coldly as we walked deep into the pack surveying every corner leaving no stone unturned.
“Theodore I smell your partner nearby she's close “ Killian my wolf murmured telepathically as I took a step.
“What?” I exclaimed.
“What's wrong alpha ?” Alpha Lucas asked his eyes darkening.
“Nothing “ I replied.
“Do you know where she is ?” I asked telepathically my heart thumping wildly wondering who my mate could be.
“I don't know where she is but I'm sure she is nearby Theodore because I can smell her” my wolf answered and I raised an eyebrow at Lucas who was trailing behind me with his men.
“Alpha Lucas take your men and have a break Cassius and I shall handle this ourselves “ I ordered with my intense gaze on him.
“Yes Alpha”
I glanced around trying to sniff any odd scent but I couldn't smell anything.
“What is it Alpha ?” Cassius my beta ask as Lucas left .
“My wolf he thinks that my partner is maybe nearby “ I said trying to perceive the scent.
“ Find this young woman for me and all information related to her “ I announced
“I understand I will take care of this young woman “ Cassius replied as we walked through the entire pack lifting his chin to look at me.
Cassius walked into my office casually placing a file on my desk.
He slid a thick file across the polished desk. I hesitated, looking at him before opening it with careful fingers, flipping through page after page.
“ I have gotten all the information about the young woman and her information is right there” he replied lifting his eyes to meet mine.
I flipped through the pages of the file my eyes scanning through the pages as I read through the document.
“Hmm so her name is Kiara and the coming of age ceremony is next month “I said my eyes filtering through the pages of the document.
“Your majesty miss Kristen still doesn't have a partner why don't you go and grab her directly ?” Cassius questions eagerly.
“Cassius you know very well just how bad my reputation is outside If I approached her directly she will be scared to death “ I added closing the document which laid before me.
“ I know Alpha but it's not your fault those people outside they are always spreading rumours about you making you to be a tyrant when in actual fact every order you have given is to eliminate the assassins “ he added with a deep sigh
I swallowed hard with my arms across my chest looking up to him.
“Cassius I have no experience in pursuing women “ my chest pounded as I tried to control my breathing.
“ Don't worry I am gonna help you” he said with a smile pulling over the corners of his mouth.
“I mean do I send her flowers ?” I asked and Cassius lips widened.
“Cassius I want you to arrange 999 roses and have them sent to her on her coming of age ceremony “ I declared with a wild grin spreading across my face .
And Cassius don't worry I haven't forgotten about the promise I made I have people looking for your sister “ I added my tone filled with concern.
“Thank you alpha “ he replied his face pale.
“ Argh “ I heard a scream as soon as we finished talking,a whimper broke through the hallway.
“ Your mate is in danger” Killian my wolf said and we rushed outside following the scent.
My eyes landed on a girl , the guards slamming a whip on to her back, her skin tearing through her flesh with her mouth filled with blood
“ Leave her alone” I commanded my eyes darkening
“ Who are you ?” they demanded with an angry look in their eyes but I didn't respond.
“ It doesn't matter who I am just let her go or you will regret it” I said coldly and a bitter laugh erupted as I stood before them.
“ Look at this one how dare you tell us what to do to this worthless slave “ they sneered their words piercing through my chest.
“ Cassius deal with them “ I signalled to my beta who didn't spare them a glance leaving to deal with them.
Before I could take a step backwards,my wolf voice rang in my head.
“ She is our mate save her” he purred and I ran to her side scooping her into my arms as her vision blurred leaving to attend to her.
