Six: LISA

My fingers run through my hair as I settle down on one of the bar stools. I rest my elbows on the countertop, closing my eyes and taking in a deep breath.

Was I dreaming? Or did I really feel Kayden's lips on my head? Why was his heart beating so much? Is he worried about something?

"Hey." A deep male voice interrupts my thoughts. I lift up my head and nearly miss a heartbeat when my eyes stumble upon the face of a very handsome guy who is nearly the replica of Regé Jean-Page.

Wait. Forget that I said that name. Or you know what? Fuck it. We all have been members of the celebrity crush zone before.

However, I still can't believe my eyes. This guy standing right in front of me can easily pass off as Regé Jean-Page's twin brother with his sexy brown eyes and perfectly shaped stubble. His nose is super angled and straight, and his short hair is so raven black. His lips, well, they are as pink as the color pink.

"Hey." He calls again, snapping me out of my ridiculous assessment of him. Even his deep voice is an added bonus.

"Can I sit with you?" He asks.

"Yeah. Sure." I shrug, still regaining myself. He takes the stool beside me and places a bunch of keys and a bottle of water on top of the counter.

"So, uhm, forgive me if this kind of sounds creepy or stalky," he says, giving me a little smile. "But when you walked in, I just couldn't take my eyes off you. Allow me to say that you are beautiful."

"Oh, thanks." I smile back, tucking my hair behind my ear. His smile grows wider, and for a moment, I start to feel like some kind of knot is twisting in my stomach. I do not know if it is because my mind is not yet in a good state to be receiving such compliments, especially from strange men, or if it is because this gorgeous guy just knows how to lit up a person on fire with his breathtaking, charming smile.

"I am Christian." He introduces himself, stretching forth his hand to me.

"I am Lisa." I answer, taking his hand into mine in a handshake. His hand is warm and so soft that I feel like I am shaking a foamy sponge.

We withdraw our hands from each other's grasps.

"Your necklace is very beautiful. Must have cost quite a fortune." He compliments, pointing at my necklace.

"Yeah, well, it was just gifted to me today by my bestfriend Kayden. Actually, today is my birthday."

Wait. Why the hell am I telling a total stranger that today is my birthday?

"Oh wow Lisa, that is. . . . . that is so great and wonderful. Happy birthday."

I blush a little. "Thank you."

He smiles at my response, and God help me he looks just so charming.

'Well Lisa, maybe the reason why you told this hot ass that today is your birthday is because he looks handsome and so cute too.'

Shut up! I smack the voice in my head.

Christian turns around on his stool, facing me fully. "So, Lisa, what do you have planned for today? Do you have any party you wanna throw or—"

"Oh no Christian," I cut him off. "I am not usually the birthday party girl type. More like the indoor close family and friends celebration type. Actually I am here with my friends. They just gave me the cutest and most lovable birthday surprise."

"Oh wow. That is beautiful." He says, nodding his head. "You must really have rich wonderful friends who love you so much that they have what it takes to surprise you in such a resort like this."

"Well, I agree with you on that. I have lovely friends."

"So where are they?" He asks, looking around.

"Uhm, I just left them for a while to get myself something to drink here."

"Oh wow. Thank God I came onto you right on time. Order anything you wanna drink. All bills of the birthday girl will be on me."

I chuckle. "Take it easy Christian. I am just here to have tequila."

"Then tequila it is." He winks at me and turns, waving at the bartender. The bartender turns to him with a pleasant smile written all over his face.

"Four shots of tequila please."

The bartender nods and turns around to prepare his order.

"Four shots?" I ask, feeling a little bit bewildered and funny at this guy.

"Two for you and two for me." He answers. "I do not actually know if you are a fan of too much tequila, so I just ordered the four shots just to be on a safer side."

I laugh, and he joins in too.

"Well, you are in luck Christian. I am not planning on having much tequila anyway."

He shrugs. "Ok."

The bartender places four shots of tequila before us, also adding a plate of four small circular slices of lemon beside the shots.

"Alright Lisa, grab a shot." Christian says, taking one of the glasses into his hand. I laugh and grab one of the glasses too.

"To the most beautiful birthday girl I have ever seen. Cheers." He toasts. We click our glasses together and gulp down the liquid into our mouths in one fast fluid motion. We take one of the lemon slices each and suck on the sour juice.

I grit my teeth. It is been a while since I had tequila, but then, I am drinking with this gorgeous guy, so I will just take the gritting of my teeth as a wonderful part of the experience.

We are about to grab another shot when the door opens and I hear Sandra squeal my name. My attention turns to the door entrance, seeing Sandra and Ethan walking towards me with both their fingers entwined together like some fated starcrossed lovers.

My eyes shift from them to another figure still standing at the door entrance, and I freeze when I lock my eyes with Kayden, who looks like he is glaring at the mini demigod sitting beside me.
