As Mr Jones was consoling his daughter, Richard Jones who was the elder brother of Rachel drove in the compound with his black ride.
He came down from the car, revealing a stunning man in a suit. He was almost identical to Rachel, with his curly hair which bounces as he walks his way into the house. When Richard entered the mansion, he noticed that everywhere was calm and quiet, he was about to walk upstairs when he saw a maid coming out from the kitchen. Richard paused in his step as he stared at the maid and asked with a straight face, “where is my father? “Good day young master”. The maid bowed her head as she greeted him before continuing , “Senior Master is at young mistress room”. She said respectfully. “Ok, get me a glass of water upstairs”. He said as he made his way upstairs. He wasn’t surprised where his father was, because ever since his little sister married, his father has been spending most of his time in her bedroom. That was why it was so neat even after months of no one staying there. Thinking of his baby sister who always calls his name with a childish voice made him feel nostalgic. He really misses her, but he will always respect her choice. He shook his head as he made his way to his bedroom. He was about to open his room when he heard a distant sobbing and a soothing voice coming from his sister’s room. He immediately recognized the voice to be his father, but he was curious of what was going on. So he abandoned his initial plan to rest and walked straight to his sister's room. When he got close, he heard the sobbing voice which made him open the room lightly to peek, but he was shocked with what he saw. His sister whom he was missing and thinking of a while ago was now present in her bedroom. He had totally forgotten about the sobbing sound and opened the door with excitement. As he entered the room, that was when he noticed that something was wrong. He stared at his sister who was whimpering uncontrollably in their father's arms and became scared and angry at the same. The last thing he never wanted to see in this life was his sister crying. He hates to see tears in her eyes, no matter what happens. Mr Jones who noticed his son, signaled him with his hand not to make any noise as he was still consoling his daughter. Rachel, who was still unaware that her brother was present in the room, was still sobbing softly. Although she pretended to be alright during her confrontation with Matthew, she was still heartbroken. She tried to wave it off but it just came back to her senses. She held her father's clothes tight as she felt safe to be in his arms. Seven minutes later, she stopped crying and regained herself. “He’s not worth crying for”. She murmured softly with a hoarse voice, but it was heard by her father as he was close to her. Seeing that she had stopped crying, Mr Jones took a deep breath and sighs in relief. Just like his son Richard, he also hates to see tears in her eyes, after all she was his only princess his late wife left behind, and he swore to protect her. “Are you ok princess? He asked with a smile on his face. “Yes dad”. Rachel said as she clutched his cloth while hiding her face in it. She wasn’t thinking straight earlier, but as she came back to her senses, she became embarrassed. Mr Jones chuckled when he saw her action, so he smiled and said with a teasing smile, “you don’t need to be shy princess, I’m your dad”. “Urgh… I know dad, but crying like that is just not cute”. She said with a whining voice as she continued to hide her face in his cloth. “But it’s ok to cry princess, it’s good for the eyes”. Mr Jones said as he tried to encourage her. Richard was speechless with his father’s words, but he chose to ignore it. He walked forward softly and was about to make his presence known, but his father’s deadly gaze made him stop in his tracks as he wondered what he did wrong. “Trying to interrupt us”. Mr Jones thoughts as he gaze at him with a disgusting stare Meanwhile Rachel was unaware of her father and brother silent confrontation as she said, “I know dad, it’s good to cry, but I’m now a grown up lady”. As she said this she sighed. “No one is above crying, so don’t think like that”. Mr Jones said. Richard was already seething with jealousy as he stared at his father and sister who were conversing with one another. Without wasting much time, he ignored his father's stares, as he walked to the bed and was about to sit on it, when Rachel finally lifted her head from her father’s embrace. “Brother”. She said happily as she stood up and threw herself into his body. “Hey slow down little sis”. Richard said as he caught her steadily with his hands while giving his father a smug look. Not minding his words at all, she circled her hands around his neck as she hugged him tight. “I miss you big bro”. She said as she smiled sweetly at him. “I miss you too, my little chipmunk”. He said as he winked playfully. Feeling vexed, she came down from his body and put her hands on her waist before saying with pouty lips, “I dare you to call me that again”. She doesn’t like the name at all but her brother always uses it to tease her. “Little chipmunk”. Richard said with a hefty laugh. Feeling challenged, Rachel clenched her fist as she punched him lightly, making him groan. She rolled her eyes when she saw him acting like that. So she stuck out her tongue and said, “maybe you should go for acting, I bet you will win an Oscar”. Rachel said with a teasing voice. “Ok Miss fatty”. Richard said with a smirk. “What do you mean? Rachel asked as she narrowed her eyes at him. “You know baby sis, you should lose some weight, I could feel my bones aching already”. Richard said as he shrugged his shoulders. “Dad”. Rachel stumped her feet as she complained to her father. Seeing the opportunity, Mr Jones said with a smirk “Dare to bully my princess “. As he reacted by kicking Richard so hard that he had to groan in pain. “That serves you right”. Rachel said with a giggle. Hearing her giggle, the two men smiled happily because they always want to see their princess happy at all times.Harris was still sleeping when his phone started ringing.Rachel, who was lying on his chest, frowned in her sleep. The sound was bothering her.So she moved a little, almost climbing on his body and hugged him tighter. She then mumbled with a sleepy and hoarse voice, “Babe, pick it up, it’s disturbing me.”“Forget about it,” Harris said in a quiet voice and added. “Just sleep.”He didn’t even check who was calling. He just reached out to his phone on the bed stand and silenced the phone, then pulled Rachel closer and closed his eyes again.About an hour later, Harris slowly opened his eyes. He lazily reached for his phone and checked the time. His eyes widened a little when he saw that it was already 9 a.m. They had both overslept. This wasn’t like him. Before getting married, he used to wake up early, even when he barely got any sleep. But ever since he married Rachel, his mornings had changed. Maybe it was because his insomnia was getting better or maybe it was just her presence th
Hilary rushed into the bathroom and filled a bowl with warm water, making sure it wasn’t too hot. He grabbed a clean soft towel from the linen cabinet and hurried back to the bedroom where Freda was lying silently without moving her body. His chest tightened at the sight of her weak look. She looked so fragile and small, wrapped in the big duvets of their bed. He couldn’t remember the last time he had seen her like this.Hilary sighed softly and shook his head lightly to clear his thoughts away.“Freda needs me now”. He chanted to keep his gaze focused as he kept the bowl of water on the table. He dipped the towel into the bowl to soak, before squeezing it gently , then walked back to her side and sat down beside her.He gently touched her face and her dry lips as he softly whispered, “I’m here now my love, I have got you now.”After saying this, he lifted his trembling hand which was holding the towel and began wiping her forehead, cheeks, and neck. Her skin was burning, but he
Freda, who was still lying on the cold floor, felt her body weak and tired. Every part of her ached, but she didn’t have the strength to move. Her head was feeling heavy, due to her cries. She had stayed in that position and waited for hours, hoping it would open and Hilary would come back. But after waiting, he didn’t. The silence in the house felt louder with each passing minute. She didn’t know how much time had passed. All she knew was that her body felt numb, and her chest ached from holding in too many emotions. The pain, the regret, and the fear, was all too much for her to handle.“I’m sorry,” she whispered into the empty room, as if he could hear her. “Please come back.” She said, but no one answered.Soon, her vision became blurry, and just like that, her body gave up.She passed out, lying helplessly on the floor, still waiting for the man she loved.Meanwhile, Hilary was in a completely different state. In the dim light of the private bar room, he sat slumped in a chair.
Seeing his action, she cried loudly, and said “I’m sorry, I really am. I messed up, I know that, but I was trying to protect both of you”. “From what?” he barked angrily. “From me? From the father he never even got to meet? How is that protection?”“I didn’t know how to face it,” she whispered. “I thought I was doing the right thing, that’s why I didn’t try to tell youHilary stared at her and clenched his fist tight, he just didn't know what to say.Right now, he was in pain, and needed to clear his head.Without saying anything to her, he turned away, and muttered with a calm voice “I need to think, I need air.”“Hilary, please.” she reached out to touch him, but he stepped back.“I’m not saying I’m leaving,” he said hoarsely and continued , “But right now, I’m hurt and angry. I don’t want to say something I can’t take back.”With that, he grabbed his keys and walked out, leaving Freda alone.Freda stood there, trembling in the empty room, her hand still half reached out, as if t
Freda facepalmed herself in frustration and let out a long sigh. She looked at Hilary seriously and said, “I know Rapheal is your son, because he just is.” After saying this, she looked at him and waited for his reaction, but Hilary, who was not aware of what she meant, just raised an eyebrow and said. “Very good,” he replied with a sarcastic smirk, watching her closely.Freda frowned her face and asked him. “Why are you staring at me like that?”“I’m listening,” Hilary said calmly, but his eyes were sharp. “What happened to his real father? Is that guy trying to come back into your life or something? I haven’t seen him. Do you have a photo of him? I should know what he looks like in case I run into him.”He fired off the questions quickly, barely giving her time to answer. Freda stared at him, confused and overwhelmed by the sudden interrogation. Her head started spinning. When she didn’t respond, Hilary leaned forward and said. “Well?”Freda glared at him and muttered softly, “Dumm
Freda no longer stayed in her apartment. Now, she lives with Hilary in their big house. When Hilary parked the car in front of their mansion, Freda quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door.Without waiting for him, she stepped out and walked toward the front door.Hilary watched her, feeling confused. Her steps were quick, and she didn’t say a word.Something was wrong and he could feel it.He wanted to ask her what was bothering her, but she stayed quiet.Hilary hurried to unbuckle his seatbelt and jumped out of the car as he ran to catch up with her.He called softly, “Freda?” But she didn’t answer him as she quietly walked away.Freda walked to the living room and sat down on the couch, still not looking at him.Meanwhile, Hilary stood in the doorway, watching her.“Please, talk to me,” he said gently with a begging tone.He really doesn’t like this mood at all, his spirit was dampened because of her low mood, all he just wanted was to hug her and tell her everything was
