Chapter 70

3rd POV

The sun hung so low in the sky as the pack gathered in the open court. The air was thick with so much tension‚ and the crowd’s murmurs created an almost extremely deafening hum.

Mirabel stood in chains bound to her hand‚ her chin raised defiantly. Killian stood beside her‚ silent but glaring at Jake‚ his jaw was locked tight.

Alpha Mendez was in the congregation but he allowed Jake to do the bidding because he was ashamed of Killian.

Luna Zahra too‚ didn't have much to say because she was also guilty of attempted murder so she kept mute during the meeting.

Jake stepped forward‚ his voice was calm but firm. “Mirabel Johansson and Killian Mendez‚ you are being accused of betrayal‚ conspiracy‚ and the endangerment of the Moontown Pack. Do you deny any of these charges?”

Mirabel sneered‚ her voice cutting through the crowd. “All I did was what needed to be done! This pack was weak‚ and I had the vision to make it stronger. You all are too blind to see it!”

The silence between them elongated like an abyss it was suffocating and thick."Who is she?" Sharon finally asked with a very demanding voice.Jake breathed out slowly‚ running a hand through his hair. "I already told you. She’s just someone from my past.""That is not good enough‚ Jake." Sharon’s tone became edged with so much frustration. "She barged into our room‚ claiming you two were in a relationship. What am I supposed to think? I mean‚ what did you expect me to think? If it were you‚ wouldn't you demand answers immediately?""I’m not in control of what people say about me‚ Sharon‚" he said."But you didn’t deny it clearly enough‚" she shot back. "You hesitated. Why? What are you not telling me?""I didn’t hesitate‚" Jake replied‚ his voice calm but firm."You did‚" she insisted. "And it made you look guilty. Why couldn’t you just tell me the truth?""Because th

Chapter 723rd POV The forest was silent‚ moonlight spilling onto the ground like shards of silver. Jake raised his hand‚ signaling the warriors to halt.“Hold your positions‚” Jake growled. “We attack on my command.”Killian leaned in and whispered to Mirabel‚ “This is our chance. The chaos will cover our tracks.”Mirabel nodded nervously‚ her eyes darting between shadows. “We’ll slip out unnoticed.”A haunting howl echoed through the trees. Chapter 71Sharon’s POVThe world spun as the rogue’s blade pressed against my throat. My breath came in shallow gasps‚ each one scraping against the growing lump in my chest. I could feel the weight of every single eye on me‚ hear the murmurs of fear and desperation from the crowd. But none of it compared to the terror pounding in my ears.I was powerless‚ and I hated it.The rogue’s grip was like hot iron around my body‚ pinning my arms to my sides. I struggled—twisting and kicking—but he only laughed‚ his foul breath hot against my neck.“Keep struggling‚” he sneered‚ “and I’ll spill your blood for all of them to see.”My heart pounded faster at his threat‚ but defiance flared brighter.
