The funny part was that she made the second route for a completely different purpose and now it was coming to very good use.
She smiled to herself as she walked through the turns.
She finally got to her room and got ready for work, noting that today she had to just bear with her parents before leaving for work and then she'd see them again later by the time she returned from work.
She just hoped that they didn't decide to show up in her office once again because no one would stop her from just outrightly screaming at them once things got too much.
Eleonora finished her usual morning routine and had a shower before quickly drying up and slipping into her retro dark blue suit pants with a matching dark blue turtleneck long-sleeve shirt.
With some diamonds spluttered here and there but not too much for an official outfit, she wore her jacket and snatched her eight-inch stiletto heels from the floor where she placed them.
Wearing her shoes and making her hair into a simple sleeked back ponytail, Eleonora adorned her ears with stud diamond earrings and sprayed her cologne before looking at herself and nodding her head in satisfaction with her appearance.
She walked to her room and just when she reached the door, she remembered that she left her wristwatch and her phone so she went back to get them.
"Got it,"
Eleonora whispered to herself as she turned around to walk out of her room and straight down the stairs, into the kitchen where she usually waited for Josephine to finish cooking so that they could eat together.
She walked into the kitchen and instead of seeing the long black hair she was used to, Eleonora saw chestnut brown hair as she stopped.
There was only one person who had that colour of hair in the house at the moment and that person was none other than her mother.
She looked around stunned and saw that the kitchen had used items here and there but overall it looked clean.
Rosaline felt a burning hole at the back of her head so she decided to check it out she turned around coming face to face with her daughter who looked surprised by everything she was seeing.
"What are you doing?!"
Entering the kitchen, Eleonora was stunned to see her mother messing around with kitchen utensils as she moved from one place to another.
Well, maybe messing around was not quite the right word but that was what it looked like to the young woman because she had never seen her mother in an actual kitchen her whole life.
It was such an odd scene that she just had to stand still for a while as she watched the woman clang the pots against each other.
Her mother had always been the typical classy lady who never ventured into the kitchen because the chefs and maids were there to take care of all her needs.
Eleonora was even sure the lady didn't know to turn on a gas stove so what was she doing in her kitchen?
The young lady had to take a step back and actually rearrange her thoughts before forcing some words out.
"What are you doing here, mother?"
Eleanora squinted her eyes at her
mother trying to figure her out.
Her mother stared back at her with slightly widened eyes as though she wasn't expecting her to be here.
"She's making breakfast for me obviously," Mr Vito answered Eleonora as he walked into the kitchen and walked round the island in the centre.
"Since when do you know how to cook? Wait, don't answer that. I don't care," she huffed.
Eleonora wanted to smack herself in the face for asking such a question but you couldn't blame the young woman as she really didn't know her mother could cook.
She didn't want to deal with the early morning drama so she turned around and went to sit in the dining room while she waited for Josephine.
Josephine walked into the dining room a few minutes later with plates in her hands and Eleonora had a full-blown smile on her face as she watched the woman place the plates neatly on the table.
"Sorry, I'm late. I had to take a quick shower after preparing breakfast," Josephine explained as she sat down next to the young woman.
"I have told you and will keep telling you, you do not have to apologize for anything, mum, and besides, I totally understand so please do not apologize again or I will have to rethink my sleep schedule,"
Eleonora smirked as she said the last part because she knew she had struck somewhere deep and that Josephine would go all mama bear mode on her in just a few seconds.
She slowly counted in her head.
One. Two. And three.
"YOUNG LADY, ARE YOU TRYING TO BLACKMAIL ME?" Josephine's eyes glared at Eleonora as she belted out.
The young lady was unbothered as she simply shrugged her shoulders unapologetically.
"Mayyybe." The woman dragged as she purposely wanted to annoy Josephine
What caught her off guard was that the woman was just watching her as she arranged her cutleries to eat.
"I know what you are trying to do but I have to say, it won't work, Missy. Now, eat up and go to work,"
Eleonora feigned hurt as she clenched her chest.
"I am innocent in this. And why are you sending me packing, mother?
I did nothing wrong," she pouted.
Eleonora stared at Josephine with innocent eyes but the woman was trying hard not to fall into temptation because her puppy eyes had their way of melting her heart.
"It is definitely not working this time so hurry up, girl. I gotta clean up the house soon and you need to go to work soon enough after all you mentioned that you don't like going late. Whatever happened to that, huh?"
Josephine looked at Eleonora who just cleared her throat while concentrating on her food and just when Josephine thought that the lady had finally given up, she just had to prove her wrong once again.
"When my favourite person in the whole world cooks for me and also makes time for breakfast with me, I have all the reasons to go late to work and besides don't forget. I am the boss," Eleonora smirked just as Josephine face palmed herself.
There was no point in correcting the cheeky young woman as she had thick skin that could shatter knives made of steel.
Josephine smacked the woman behind her head and Eleonora rubbed the spot with a pout on her face.
"Ouch Jossy that hurt," she sighed.
The woman shrugged while putting food on her plate and answering with a nonchalant comment.
"I know,"
"Hmph!"
Eleonora disregarded the action that happened earlier because she knew there was no use pursuing a case with the elder woman.
After serving the amount of food she thought she could stomach, she focused on the food in front of her and grabbed her cutlery to dig in but just as the food got to the entrance of her mouth the door opened and she looked up at the entrance.
Of course, she sent the food in her mouth as she looked at the commotion happening or about to happen in front of her.
"Don't eat yet!"
"Don't eat yet!" Rosaline rushed in from the kitchen as she quickly placed the food she prepared on the table.
Eleonora stared at the woman in shock as she swallowed the food in her mouth even after her mother interrupted.
She was seated in her luxury dining room which had its walls drowned with a pristine white paint with a few intricates of golden strikes as ornaments.
There were a few ancient paintings and artefacts hanging on the walls giving the room a deep rich feeling.
The huge chandelier dangling from the ceiling directly above the long oak table brought rays of light over the place.
Eleonora thought she could at least have her breakfast in peace but it seemed she was wrong about that.
"What is this, mother?" Eleonora gritted, sounding irritated already.
"I thought father said you were preparing the meal for him? What is it doing on the dining table in front of me then?"
Eleonora asked again, without giving Rosaline time to answer the first one before firing another one.
"I was not preparing the meal for him. I was making it for you, on the contrary,"
Rosaline muttered as she felt nervous around her daughter.
Her father walked in at this moment and stopped next to her mother.
"Like I asked before, since when did you know how to cook and besides, are you attempting to poison me? I thought I already said yes to the betrothal and accepted my fate or was that not good enough for you and father?"
Eleonora stared at her mother and father straight on as the man was trying to contain himself from just blowing up.
The woman got to the private estate after thirty minutes of driving luckily she didn't kill anyone on her way or else that would have been a whole lot of work on its path but of course what else can one expect from an experienced street racer, though Eleonora doesn't go to the streets to race anymore she still got the adrenaline in her veins so she uses every opportunity she gets to drive as her personal race. When she got to the private estate, entry wasn't a problem because Viccorio already put arrangements in place before hand and she was already known as his wife so she didn't need to go through so much trouble. Eleonora drove in parking her car at the front close to the fountain, she turned off her engine and alighted the car. When she got down she was faced with the blinding sun which made her walk into the villa in a rush so her eyes could be saved, unlike outside the villa was cold a complete contrast the outside with the air conditioners working actively making the whole vil
''You really don't have to do what you want to do now if you are not ready to do it now you know? No one will kill you or say anything and even if they do there is nothing they can do about it.'' The woman said as she tried to soothe Rosaline while the woman just exhaled in response.''I feel like I am just a stranger to the whole parenting thing, I am worried and I want to help make sure my daughter get some rest and make sure that her husband is looking after her but there is only so much I can do and with the whole Vito thing as well I am just worried about everything at this point and I honestly don't know how you are so calm with everything that is going on because I feel like I am in a maze where things are just going wrong left right and center and I can't control it meanwhile I just want the best for my daughter and for us to build the bond we never had before it is too late. Is that so much to ask?'' Rosaline asked as she let the frustration out of her system ranting to the e
Joesphine knew how to handle the situation because she had faced similar situations with Elly before especially when she was a raging hormonal teen who argued when she was on her period or woke up in a bad mood after Josey woke her up to get ready for school. Yup that was definitely gonna be a non peaceful day and if the Heavens just decided to bless Josey (note the sarcasm) then that day Eleonora will wake up on the left side of the bed yup it'd be war. Those days seemed so far away now but it felt like yesterday for Josephine who remembered everything like the back of her palm, Elly remembers but of course adulthood be kicking ass so she doesn't exactly have the leisure of remembering certain things. ''After the whole show down go apologize, yes she was wrong too for using just anything against you but you have to remember that she's also a mother who is hurting and whether you believe me or not she just wants the best for you so try give her that chance so you two can have the typ
As Rosaline lost herself in her head thinking about everything that happened leading to that moment Eleonora didn't let her be lost for long because she pulled her out of her reverie when she called out to her inviting her to join them in the hug, 'the more the merrier' as she put it. The invitation was all Rosaline needed as a full smile crept its way to her lips, she immediately got up not minding her bruises she joined them in the hug and they willingly let her in wrapping their hands around her as well and pulling her in Rosaline felt loved and safe and that was a feeling she felt she lost a long time ago but thanks to Josephine she was able to feel that way again and she was thankful for her little family who she knew would do anything for her unlike someone she knew if you can just take a guess at who the scum bag of a person happened to be. ''Never feel like you are left out okay mum?'' Eleonora asked as she held the women to her. Rosaline with tears of joy in her eyes nodde
''The difference between me and you amongst all other things is that you are quick to judge and belittle your opponents while you think you have the upper hand and that will always be the fatal mistake you make which wil eventually lead you to your death.'' Eleonora said and she didn't let what she said register in the man's brain before she quickly turned to the table grabbing the gun she kept beside the tray earlier when she just walked out of the kitchen, she aimed it at his leg and pulled the trigger immediately effectively injuring him and rendering him useless just like she wanted the whole time. Rosaline was finally free hence she ran to her daughter and pulled her to herself as she wept endlessly not even attempting to hold back but of course Elly couldn't just stand back and watch her mum weep helplessly with the nasty bruises her scumbag of a father had inflicted on her mother. She looked at the older woman and gave her a reassuring smile as she turned to Josephine. ''Josey
''I am begging you two to forgive me and just give me another chance even if its the last one I promise I will make it worth while.'' Vito begged as he tried to gain some favor and sympathy from Eleonora but the woman who just couldn't care less turned a deaf ear to all he said as she spared her mother who was seated across her father a glance. ''You can beg from now till eternity, that is honestly your problem because I couldn't care less but the forgiveness you are searching for you won't get it from me if you think you can or thought you could then you really need to go do your homework again because I am not that forgiving of people who hurt me much more my family and scratch the fact that you are my father I won't hesitate to take care of you if you tempt me to do so.'' Eleonora warned. ''I will treat her better and I will love her more and give her everything she wants, she won't cry another day in her life with me just give me this chance please.'' Vito pleaded as he hung his
