~Elvira~

I was still reeling from the realization that the man in front of me was my fated mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess.

He was the leader of Silverblade, the country’s deadliest pack, known for its weapons manufacturing, high-tech security, and elite warrior-training system.

It felt completely surreal to me, i didn't understand what to feel.

A mix of excitement, fear, and desperation tangled inside me.

Maybe coming here wasn’t a bad idea after all, my stepfather would certainly think twice about chasing me into Silverblade territory.

If I could just persuade the Alpha to let me join, I could finally settle down and build the secure future I had never known.

But he showed absolutely no intention of acknowledging the bond between us, it was baffling me.

Among werewolves, the pull to a fated soulmate is almost impossible to resist.

“If you let me stay, I’ll prove my worth and be loyal to your pack,” I murmured,

“Prove your worth?” Skepticism dripped from his voice.

“Yes, I have nothing to hide. I’m here with a clean slate.”

I looked anywhere but at his face; his intense gaze felt far too exposing.

“And why should I trust you?” he pressed as his eyes narrowed

“You appeared out of nowhere with no affiliation to any pack. You have no prior notice or letter from an Alpha. You’re a rogue. You deserve execution for trespassing into my territory.”

Execution?

Execution felt incredibly harsh, but I pushed through my rising panic.

I had to convince him.

“Please hear me out, I pleaded

“I mean no harm. I came to participate in your warrior training program. I want to learn, to fight, and to protect.”

The Alpha’s expression remained rigid, but I caught a brief flicker of curiosity in his eyes.

“The training program is for selected individuals who pay to attend,” he said flatly.

“You came here without an application, and you haven't paid, what gave you the nerve to barge into my territory and expect me to accept you?”

I locked my eyes onto his, a spark of defiance replacing my fear.

“I came because I had nowhere else to go, werewolves belong in packs, I can’t live among humans forever! I heard Silverblade values strength and loyalty, so I came here. I want to be part of this pack!!”

The Alpha’s gaze stayed unmoved, though I couldn't tell if he was interested or just annoyed.

“Just like that? Because you want to join a pack I built with a tight fist?”

“Because I happened to be your mate? I don’t need a mate, and I will never want one.”He added but his tone, the way he said it, sounded disdainful.

The words cut deep, but I refused to back down.

“I’m not asking for pity because of a bond,” I said, gripping my side and keeping my voice steady.

“I’m asking for a chance to prove myself. I came here peacefully.”

The Alpha studied me for what felt like an eternity, searching my face to gauge my intentions.

“We’ll decide your punishment at dawn. Then you can go back to wherever you came from,” he said bluntly, turning toward the exit.

“Wait!” I called out,

“What’s your name? Don’t I get to know the name of the Alpha who is deciding my fate?”

He paused at the doorway, his shoulders tensed.

“Gabriel. Alpha Gabriel Grayson of Silverblade.”

He left without looking back.

The cell door shut, and a sinking feeling settled in my chest.

I whispered his name in my mind, trying to process the emotional mess inside me.

I paced the small cell space.

How could he reject the bond so easily? Didn’t he feel how strong the connection was?

I slumped against the stone wall, exhausted, his presence seemed to linger in the room long after he left.

Gabriel. Alpha of Silverblade. My mate.

The memory of his cold, indifferent look stung.

He treated me like a nuisance to be dealt with.

Yet, I couldn't forget that brief spark of curiosity in his eyes.

Why did he hate the idea of a mate so much?

What had happened to him?

The hours dragged on, each minute reminded me of my uncertain future. Would Gabriel let me stay, or would he banish me?

I thought of Carson and Lisa, hoping they were safe, tears pricked my eyes as I remembered their kindness, Lisa’s goodbye hug, and Carson’s warm smile, I had promised them I’d be okay and find a way to move forward. I had found Silverblade, but the cost was turning out to be incredibly high.

Gabriel’s words repeated in my head: “I don’t need a mate, and I will never want one.” The coldness in his voice fueled both my heartbreak and my anger.

My wolf, Val, whimpered softly in my mind.

She was worn out from our long journey, and my distress was making her weaker.

What hurt the most was the way he looked at me, as if I were just an uninvited problem to solve.

That indifference made me question my own worth; I had never been wanted by anyone before.

As the night deepened, darkness took over the room. I curled up on the hard floor, hunger gnawed at my stomach, exhaustion finally won, and I fell into a restless sleep.

Hours later, the cold from the stone floor seemed to settle deep into my bones. I woke up feeling weak, dizzy, and sick from hunger.

I tried to sit up, but the room spun.

Footsteps echoed down the corridor, getting louder until they stopped outside. The cell door opened, and a guard stood in the entryway.

“Alpha Gabriel is calling for you,” he announced.

My stomach twisted as I struggled to my feet, my legs were shaking from lack of food and sheer exhaustion.

What did Gabriel want now?

Had he finally decided what to do with me?

As I followed the guard out of the cells, my mind drifted back to how I had gotten into this mess.

It had taken two weeks of careful planning to escape my stepfather’s abuse. Now, I was locked in the Silverblade cells, completely at the mercy of a man who didn’t want me.

  • Beyond Chosen: The Alpha's Fated Mate    Calmed my beast...

~Gabriel~ I tore out of the security building, bathed in rage. I ran through the hallways of the pack mansion. Pack members threw themselves against the walls when they saw me, they covered their necks and bowed their heads. I ignored them all. I didn't care about looking like a rational leader. I only cared about finding the dark road outside. I only cared about the emptiness in my chest and my concern about Elvira. I reached the entrance, guarded by two elite warriors. They dropped to their knees the second I stepped into the light. "Open the doors," my voice came out as a snarl, "Alpha, Beta Cole ordered a lockdown.." one guard started to say, his hands visibly shaking. I lunged forward, grabbed table resting in the wall, hurled it at the wall in anger. The wood exploded into splinters, I stood watching the wreckage, my chest heaving. The wolf inside me was thrashing, desperate to break out fully and tear the forest apart until we found her. I was losin

  • Beyond Chosen: The Alpha's Fated Mate    Did she run away?...

~Gabriel~ The moment the sun dipped below the tree line, an unease settled deep in my chest. Bane was restless… I stood by the window in my office, watching the dark shadows stretch across the training grounds. The packhouse was usually loud at this hour, filled with the sounds of returning patrols and dinner preparations. But all I could focus on was the deafening silence in my own mind. I couldn't feel Elvira like I normally do since after her attack. After her near death experience I made sure to be conscious of her presence in my mind at all times. Earlier this evening, I had walked past the kitchen expecting to see her sitting there with her friends. When she wasn't there, I checked the training fields. Empty. I asked the guards at the west wing. Where is she? Bane growled, pacing violently in the back of my mind. His claws scraped against my mental walls, making my head pound. ‘Her scent is fading from the borders. Find her!’ I dragged a hand down my face, tr

  • Beyond Chosen: The Alpha's Fated Mate    A gift... when control snaps...

~Elvira~ After a full day's training with warrior trainees the next day, my body finally gave out. I woke up with fire in my joints. Every muscle in my arms and legs screamed in protest when I tried to sit up. The adrenaline and zeal of the past few days was gone, leaving behind a deep aching fatigue. I had to tell Rhys after training that our evening session would be cancelled, I couldn't even throw a single punch if my life depended on it. After a quick shower when I got home I dragged myself down to the kitchen, hoping for quiet time and food, anything at this point that can rebuild my energy. I found Lisa sitting at the table, Silas was just busy moving around preparing for night dinner for the pack members who lived in the pack Mansion. “Hey I greeted Lisa, “What are you doing here?” I asked her as I looked around. She was just sitting alone watching the kitchen staff run around as Silas barked at the junior cooks. "You look terrible," Lisa chimed, offering a

~Elvira~"It scares me," he confessed, watching my lips. The air around us stilled. The crickets in the grass went quiet. He leaned closer, the heat coming from his chest wrapped around the chill in my bones. I held my breath, the scent of forest and rain washing over me, his eyes glowed still locked on my. I took in a sharp breath feeling my body soften as I got aroused by his closeness and heat. But the moment the space between us almost cleared, a muscle flickered along his jaw…he pulled back, the vulnerability in his eyes slammed shut, replaced by the guarded Alpha I knew."We should head back," he muttered, standing up and brushing the dirt from his dark slacks. My chest tightened. Pressure settled in my stomach. I didn't reach for him or demand answers. ‘He just poured out the deepest trauma of his life,’ I reminded myself. ‘He watched his parents die because of a mate bond. I can't expect him to just dive into this. It would not be easy, though it hasn't been since the ma

  • Beyond Chosen: The Alpha's Fated Mate    Revelations...

~Elivira~I watched him closely. He looked calm, his dark hair still wet from a recent shower, which made me wonder if he was secretly feeling the weight of Venessa's betrayal and simply needed someone safe to talk to."Okay, let's go," I responded, pushing my doubts aside. We left the confines of the Alpha wing, stepping out into the pack courtyards before walking deep into the forest, our footsteps silent on the earth until we stopped by the edge of a small lake."Are you going to miss her?" I asked as we sat down on the cool ground, the drop in temperature matched the shift in our conversation. The stars were all out tonight, covering the sky like twinkling diamonds, reflecting on the dark water before us."Venessa?" he asked, as if the name itself was difficult to speak out.I nodded, turning my gaze away to look at the lake because looking at his handsome face made it too difficult to maintain my emotional distance."I had no feelings for her. She was just my mistress," he state

~Elvira~"Where do you guys think she'll go?" I asked, sipping the wine in an attempt to shatter the quiet settling over the room. The entire kitchen remained hushed, as though the reality of the trial had left everyone consumed by their own grim thoughts."Are you kidding me right now, Elvira? Is that what you're thinking about?" Neolla asked, shifting in her chair to fix me with a defensive glare."I'm just curious, it's not deep," I replied. Aria's made a jerk of her arm causing her to almost spill her drink across the table, the abrupt motion forced everyone to sit up straighter, breaking the tension holding us hostage. "Are you okay?" I asked, looking directly at her.She blushed, her face turning red before she stood up immediately. "Uuhh, I am feeling sleepy. I need to clock in. Good night," she uttered in a rush, maneuvering around the chairs to make an exit.Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of Cole standing by the kitchen door, his back turning away from us so

~Elvira~ “I don't even know how to start,” I said, my voice rising as I paced the length of the kitchen. I was ranting, the words spilling out of me like a broken dam. Silas, Neolla, Aria and Lisa were all there, huddled around the prep table. They had gathered the second I walked in, thei

~Elvira~ “Neolla! There you are, I have good news !” I called out, my voice nearly lost in the noise of young warriors sparing on the training grounds. Neolla was leaning over a wooden table, her thumb flying across the screen of a tablet as she barked orders to a young warrior. She looked ev
