The buried memories echoed through the closed doors of the hallway as Aarunya tried her best to block out all of those painful memories.
Silent. It was all silent. But Aarunya's heart was anything but that. All the Buried memories screamed through the closed doors of her heart. She could hear her screams and cries every time she was tortured inside the closed doors of this same hallway. The same place where she had been slapped by Trayaksh for the first time in her life. It was the first day of her marriage at this Mansion and the forced bride who was adorned in precious jewelleries along with the traditional wedding lehenga was terrified at even the idea of what her future would hold. The lavish Mansion seemed like hell, a cage where she would be trapped forever. An eighteen year Old Aarunya was welcomed by her mother in law who scowled at her, looking at her with disgust as if she was a dirty worm waiting to be crushed under the feets of the Rajputs. Trayaksh only had his mother in the name of family and why won't he? After all, his whole family was killed brutally in an accident. Accident.... A murderer.... A plot to destroy the Rajputs... And the culprit was her own father. She shook her head off remembering how she refused to believe their words, how she argued with Trayaksh's mother and that's when she received a hard slap for the first time in her life by her own Husband when she Called his mother a liar. A slap. Her wedding gift. "So how many years has it been since we're married?" She jolted out of her reverie of thoughts after hearing Trayaksh's question. "Nine years" She answered vaguely. "I see, quite a long time we've spent together. Isn't it, wife?" Aarunya nodded her head not wanting to talk to the man she hated with her guts. "Looks like you're not fond of talking or is it that you don't like opening your mouth in front of me only?" His question caught her off guard as she was busy cursing him inside her mind. Forcing a smile she shook her head in a no. "I'm Just a bit tired. I was really worried when you had gotten into such a deadly accident, dearest Hubby" The words tasted bitter in her mouth as she lied profusely. Worried? under her dead body! All she wanted for this man was death. All she prayed for him was a punishment which he would never forget. A suffering of lifetime and agony till eternity. For Aarunya, she had no damn time to feel pity for a rapist. The whole car ride passed in silence. The silence between them was deafening as the only sound in the car being the music coming out of the car's music system. Closing her eyes, she hummed the song softly, lost in her own little world as the Sweet melody echoed in her ears, creating a mirth of peace inside the chaos cocooned around her heart. Trayaksh's Onyx eyes continued to rove at her face as if imprinting every part of her into his mind, from her rosy plump lips to the contour of her face. He felt a pang of something inside his chest, something which he couldn't describe into words but it was there. Somewhere deep inside him. This strange woman who seemed so familiar to his heart. So familiar yet so far. It was as if he wanted to hold onto her but she'll fly away from his grasp like a mischievous butterfly fluttering its wings. Aarunya didn't notice the man's sharp yet curious gaze at her as she continued humming the song, unaware of the effect which her soft voice was having inside the cold heart of her husband. *** Time passed in a frenzy for Aarunya as finally their black mercedes stopped with a screech and indicating to Aarnya that she had reached her hell. The Rajput Mansion. A hell, her doom and a dark abyss she was trapped in from the past nine years. A place she despised with all of her guts. A hell where all of the monsters in this world reside for her, except her and HIM. A soft smile adorned her lips as she thought of him. The only reason for her living, the only one who gives her soul a little peace in the chaos of destruction around her. Trayaksh felt his heart flutter, he didn't know why but he did as his gaze fell on the soft smile playing in the lips of his wife. How could someone be this beautiful, this winsome? Her smile felt so precious as if millions of flowers were blooming around him. He had a sudden urge to see her smile every time. To be the reason for her smile. For the first time in his life, he was smitten.... By her.. Trayaksh shook his head off, telling himself to stop thinking strange things but his insides were far from listening to the ministerations of his mind. Get a grip on yourself He reminded himself as he finally managed to control himself around her precious smile which his own beasts wanted to treasure. A few moments passed away and she finally came out of her own reverie. Aarunya gulped down her saliva, noticing Trayaksh's gaze on herself. Aarunya hated him, loathed the way his eyes raked over her body as if she was some alien he was curious about. Bastard.you dare look at me like that and I'll gouge your filthy eyes out. She said in her mind and cursed him from inside, facing him as she forced a fake smile on her lips again. Nobody spoke anything as the silence between them was deafening to the core. Slowly they got out of the car and stepped inside the mansion. Before Trayaksh could even stop her to talk she suddenly moved towards the staircase, her steps fast and steady as she tried to leave as soon as she can before he could start his question and answer session again. For god's sake she hated that man to even cast a glance at his face. For he is a handsome faced beast. An enchanting demon But She's far away from being a Beauty. Aarunya, a flower, a fire that can't be extinguished with Sweet words of love and affection. She would rather be the hunter and ruin Trayaksh, to be the greatest rue of his life and his most beautiful destructive. Trayaksh was still standing at the huge hallway with the servants still bowing to him and their curious gazes wandering towards the couple, noticing the silence and tension between them. He kept looking at Aarunya's silhouette until she disappointed into the darkness of the stairs without ever looking back at him, not even for once. Trayaksh felt a pang of disappointment in his heart. He wanted to have a conversation with her About him. About her. About their past, their present. Only if he knew that her heart was locked up and shattered inside a cage woven by him, himself. her feelings.... They were buried deep inside the grave of sins which he himself dug for her. And her tears which were buried in silence of the nightmares and pain which he himself inflicted on her But the heart wants what it wants and for now all it wanted was to be near her Near Aarunya. His wife... "Ocean" The word again rolled out of his tongue, tasting so Sweet that even he himself couldn't manage to take it back. "Ocean" 。☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━。☆✼★The wind blew gently through the Rajput estate, yet something felt off.Aarunya sat in the study room, Aranya asleep in his pram beside her. She unfolded the note she’d found tucked inside the spine of a book in Trayaksh’s library. She had no idea who this person was and why they were offering help to her.Aarunya was suspicious but she still decided to play along, so that she could unwrap the mystery behind this person.Aarunya opened the note "If you truly want to know the truth of the Rajputs, go to the Old Rajput Mansion in Delhi. The walls there have secrets dug up inside them. The old mansion is the place where it all began.."- Your well-wisher.Her pulse quickened at that moment.Who was this person? And what would this person even achieve from all of this? One thing was clear. Whoever this person was, they knew things which Gargi was hiding. And Aarunya was ready to uncover it.The Old Rajput Mansion…She folded the note slowly and looked toward Aranya with a gentle smile.
The soft clink of porcelain echoed in the Rajput dining hall as the morning sun filtered through the embroidered silk curtains, painting golden patterns across the marble floors, giving a dreamy look to the whole mansion. It was a beautiful morning. But not all beautiful things were tolerant. At least not for Aarunya, especially when she looked at the face of her sinner everyday. Aarunya sat at the head of the table, regal in her mermaid strapped silk ivory dress. Her expression was calm, almost too calm like a serene lake that hid the ruins of a storm beneath its shiny surface.Trayaksh was beside her, gently feeding bits of mashed banana to their son Aranya. The sight would make anyone fall for the gentle looking man.Except Aarunya. For, she had already seen the monster behind his gentle smile. She watched them with a smile, but behind her eyes lived storms, ready to ruin, ready to destroy.“Aranya’s becoming more cute like you every day,” Trayaksh whispered with a soft smile.Sh
The night was painted in shadows as Aarunya stood at the balcony of her room, her eyes fixed on the moon above. She wasn't praying. She wasn’t admiring the moon either. She was calculating, planning, plotting her revenge. Each day brought her closer to her goal. Each night sharpened her resolve to destroy the people who wronged her.The words written in the letter from the anonymous sender still played inside her mind. She wondered if there were other dark shadows lurking around the haunted Rajput estate. She wondered what if Trayaksh wasn’t the only monster in the Rajput family. Her fingers closed into a fist, nails digging into her palm and the air behind her shifted to something more colder. She didn’t turn around. She already knew who it was.“Did you get it?” she asked, her voice filled with authority only a queen gets to speak with.“Yes,” said the voice. The same staff member she had recruited earlier. The one loyal to her, not by heart but by fear.Fear, a word enough to make
Sunlight crept into the room like a thief, golden and gentle, too gentle for the war that raged beneath Aarunya's heart.Aarunya blinked slowly, her lashes heavy with sleep she didn’t even remember falling into. She just fell asleep the previous night after tucking Arabya to his crib. The scent of jasmine still lingered on the bedsheets. A breeze passed through the half-open balcony door. And then came the soft knock. It was Trayaksh. He entered with a smile so soft, it could’ve melted any heart, if only it hadn’t once been used to mock her after everytime she was raped in the past.“Good morning, Ocean,” he said, his voice deep and warm, like a song he’d never known how to sing before. A song he was learning only for her.For Aarunya.Aarunya cringed from his voice but she covered her expressions. She sat up slowly, letting the silk bedsheet slip from her shoulder gently.“Good morning,” she replied, her voice honeyed soft.“I made you breakfast,” he beamed, placing the tray on her
The morning air was colder despite the summer sun. A strange stillness hung over the Rajput estate, it was not peaceful but the eerie calm before a huge storm. Aarunya adjusted the soft blanket over Aranya and walked out of the nursery, her mind already racing through her next plan. The letter from last night still haunted her not because of any fear, but because of its truth. There were secrets buried in the Rajput family. She was going to find them. And she was going to use them against the Rajputs. As she walked through the hallway, her footsteps light yet firm, a sudden sound made her pause in her tracks. “Bhabhi,” a soft voice called from behind. It was Taranya. Aarunya turned around, masking her wariness with a serene and soft smile. “Hmm?” Taranya stood with folded arms, her eyes sharp as if she was suspecting things. “Why did Chef Narayan leave?” she asked quietly. “And why are you changing all the staff suddenly?” Aarunya’s smile didn’t falter, but her fingers curle
A huge storm arrived making the trees swing, flowers sway and dark clouds gather around the Rajput estate. It rained heavily the whole night. The morning rays of sun finally passed through the curtains indicating that the storm had passed, but the silence it left behind was far more dangerous.Aarunya stood by the window of her room in the Rajput estate, her eyes resting on the swaying trees outside. The early morning sunlight painted golden patterns on the marble floor, but her mind was elsewhere, trapped in memories, in pain, and in plans she made to ruin, to destroy her destroyers.Aranya slept peacefully on the bed behind her, wrapped in the soft folds of a soft handmade quilt. His tiny fingers twitched in sweet dreams.A soft smile tugged at Aarunya's lips as she looked at her small baby bird sleeping peacefully. “Just some more time, my sweet angel. Then mommy will take her Aranya away from this hell of a place.” She whispered and pressed a soft kiss on the top of Aranya’s head
